MISS PEREGRINE'S MISS PEREGRINE'S MISS PEREGRINE'S YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES Maybe I should pick up Daughter of Smoke and Bone this year... ;D
jessethereader LOL I edited out a clip of me saying "JESSE LOOK I'M READING MISS PEREGRINE'S SO YOU HAVE TO READ DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE OKAYYYYY" XD
Woah! Can I join in? I've been wanting to read it for so long now, but it's kind of daunting! I feel like if I knew someone was reading it too, I would actually pick it up.
I'm on the same page with you regarding Sanderson's books (still need to read Mistborn though), The Diviners (everything you said), and Name of the Wind. So many books, too little time!
My Book Bucket List is huge... The Lunar Chronicles, Fahrenheit 451, 1984, several Nancy Drew books, The Plague Dogs, The 5th Wave, the Legend trilogy, Paper Towns, Looking For Alaska, Hollow City, quite a few of Mark Twain's books, The Stand, The Book Thief, Inferno by Dan Brown, The Giver quartet, Song of the Lioness quartet...the list goes on and on. At least I'll never lack for something to read?
Once you read Pride and Prejudice I suggest just taking a day with some junk food and a blanket and just binging all of the Lizzie Bennet Diaries because it's just they're so good. So good.
Did you know they came out with a book about the Lizzie bennet diaries? It's supposed to be Lizzie's diary :) so you get to read what happens between each video.
THE NAME OF THE WIND IS A PIECE OF ART. IT'S JUST GREAT. And the best thing is that you think is big but it's so good you can't stop reading so you finish it in 4 days. IT'S JUST AMAZING.
I'm reading The Hero of Ages now. FINISH MISTBORN SERIES AS SOON AS YOU CAN. It will blow your mind so many times, believe me. And if you loved the characters in the first book, you will adore them later. I love some of them so much that I tear up every time I just think of them. I love this series so much that I'm going to read every book Brandon Sanderson has every written. All this year, because I know I'll love them all.
OMG I've just finished reading every single one of Jane Austens books! Honestly once you get over the oldie English writing you realise how awesome they are. Pride & Prejudice is my favourite!
I have also watched Game of Thrones before reading the book, it's on my TBR for 2015 too :) I hadn't read any Colleen Hoover until December 2014, and I have fallen in love with her writing, she's amazing.
You'll love Name of the Wind. I honestly recommend the audiobook; the narrator does an exceptional job and just dunks you into the story immediately. One of the best debut novels ever!
Hahaha, I live for the bloopers at the end of your videos! My bucket list is to FINALLY read a John Green book (I have no idea why I haven't yet, I own all but one), Allegiant (I was spoiled and it killed my buzz), and also to read Pride and Prejudice!
I know it's late, but the bucket list I would have: Finishing The Dark Tower series [I actually JUST started Book 7 today] Getting all caught up on A Song of Ice And Fire [I began with Book 4 coming into this year and now I'm on the fifth book] I was finally able to get a copy of a Lorien Legacies book, even though it was the fifth book which was pretty good so now I have to go back and read the 1st 4 and I think the next one will be out by that time. I'm also thinking about The Fire Sermon
Your eyeliner is on point! Aaaaaand, ugh, I mourn the old Diviners cover. I don't think I've heard one person say they prefer the new style more. Good luck with your list!
My bucket list features: The Giver by Lois Lowry (because I'm a terrible person and haven't read it yet) The 100 by Kass Morgan (I also committed a deadly sin and watched the show first XD) Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl (Because cliffhangers) Wicked by Gregory Maguire (I KNOW I KNOW I DID IT AGAIN I SAW THE MUSICAL FIRST) Sword Art Online by Reki Kawahara (I SUCH A TERRIBLE PERSON BUT SUCH A GOOD ANIME) Checkmate by Malorie Blackman (Also cliffhangers) The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare (I need more Magnus in my life) And, of course, various other books that I don't yet own xD
I've loved Brandon Sanderson ever since Robert Jordan introduced me to him through the WoT series. I guess Sanderson finished it for him after Jordan passed away. I like your taste in literature as well. Lots of fantasy and escapist books. Love that kind of stuff.
I have a book series bucket list for this year. I am a third way done with Chima's "The Gray Wolf Throne", the third out of four book series; The Seven Realms. I have raved about since I first started reading the series, we'll worth it too! :) My bucket list of book series include: Falling Kingdoms The Darkest Minds Legend More will be added when I complete each series. Love your videos Kat!!!
I made it my goal this year to read all of Jane Austen's books ( which I'm proud to say I stuck to) and in order these were my favs 1. Pride and Prejudice 2. Persuasion (3-5 was more or less a tie but if I had to chose) 3. Mansfield Park 4. Sense and Sensibility 5. Emma 6. Northanger Abbey I hope you liked P&P, I sure did!
THE DIVINERS! That was hands down one of my top 5 favorite books of last year. It was my Libba Bray book so this year I reeeeally want to get to some of her other books (specifically the Gemma Doyle series). Also, since I'm here, I want to say THANK YOUUU for recommending the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy so much on your channel. I splurged a little and picked up the box set a couple months ago and marathoned the trilogy and fell in love. :D
Fahrenheit 451 is on NPR's Top 100 Sci-Fi/Fantasy Books that I'm trying to read a great deal off of this year. So is Game of Thrones, which I probably need to get on...
I'm reading Pride & Prejudice as well this year! I have to read a butt-ton of books for uni entrance exams and three of those have to be English classics, so yes, it will happen!
GAME OF THRONES YAS KAT YAAAAS don't worry, I was a naughty reader as well with it and felt the same way. But, I will say that watching the show beforehand is a good thing, because you already know the world and how it works, and it emphasizes the perfect casting. I'm on the third book and I swear, you will LOVE this series! Do you plan on doing a full discussion video on just the book? It might be a good idea just because it's a hefty chunk of book and you can't confine such an amazing thing to just a few seconds in a monthly wrap-up. Just a thought! ☺ Keep up the great work, I'm intrigued to see what you think of the books! 😄
The Final Empire was such a fantastic book! Oh my gosh...and I am so excited to read the Well of Ascension and the Hero of Ages! I've been wanting to read the Kane Chronicles for ages as well! I love, love, love PJO and HOO, so I really need to read them. The Poison Study Series and Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children are such fantastic books!! whoo you have a great bucket list!
Definitely more of A.S. King and the Mortal Instruments series along with the other Cassandra Clare books and maybe some rereads of series that I liked a lot (Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy again!)
A lot of these are on my 2015 bucket list too. Especially the name of the wind. I started it once but I really need to do a redo since I only got 20 pages in. Also, you'll LOVE a game of thrones. And Fahrenheit 451 was the favourite required reading book of a ton of people in my class back in high school, so if non-readers loved it you'll love it too.
Katie B. Ooh great to hear about GoT & Fahrenheit 451! And yeah, I tried Name of The Wind before and didn't get very far--it's intimidating! But I'm determined to finish it!
I have so many books on my bucket list. A Game of Thrones, Mistborn, and The Name of The Wind are all ones I want to read too. They're so long but for some reason i just really wanna read some long fantasy books because it's my favorite genre and I've heard amazing things about all of them. I also want to read more series this year in general.
That's such an awesome idea to have a little bucket list for 2015!!!! That way you make sure that you for sure get to the highly anticipated books :D So many amazing picks as well!!!!!
PLEASE DO A UPDATED BOOKSHELF TOUR!!!! :D I am sooooo jealous about your amazing book collection. How did you start it? I am a student so I don't have that much money and books are SO expensive these days. But I would love to start a book collection!
I think you will love Pride and Prejudice! I read it after watching The Lizzie Bennett Diaries and I enjoyed it so much. I also just finished Persuasion and I'm hoping to finish reading all of Jane Austen's books this year! :)
Oh Kat, you simply MUST read Pride and Prejudice!! It is so satirically great! I studied it in University last year and the analytical approach really made me appreciate the book so much more than reading it when I was younger. There are so many things in that book that I missed the first time because I didn't properly understand the autonomy of Women in that era.
Can't praise Fahrenheit 451 highly enough. My favorite book ever written. In that edition there is an essay in the back called ""Coda" read it after you finish the book. its amazing!
GAME OF THRONES AND FAHRENHEIT 451 OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH YOU'LL LOVE THEM I can't wait to hear your opinion! Those are one of my most favourite books ever, and I loooove A Song of Ice and Fire, although I have 2 more books to read.
My book bucket list: Blood of Olympus, Ignite me, The Hero of Ages, something by Cinda Williams Chima, The storied life of A.J. Fikry, Fire & Flood, Losign Hope and more Gayle Forman. I've been eyeing the poison study series for a while, so maybe that will hapen for me as well.
If you liked the first season of Game of Thrones, you'll love the book. It's the most faithful season, so it probably gives you an idea (though the book is better for many reasons, one of which being no one has the budget for the cast of characters in the series).
I' ve finished pride and prejudice just today and i loved it so much! Also, i watched game of thrones before reading the books and i'm stocked in the middle of book two. I mean they are great but so similar to the series
I WAS LITERALLY JUST THINKING ABOUT GOING TO B&N AND BUYING PATRICK ROTHFUSS'S BOOK! Because George R.R. Martin speaks highly of him, and I've watched some interviews and he seems like a really cool guy, so when you brought out his book I got really really happy :D
I want to read Fahrenheit 451 (might have spelled that wrong) and I don't want to. Last year in sixth grade, I read one of his short stories and despised it. Have you read it, all summer in a day? I just hated it but I want to read Fahrenheit 451 so I might want to give him a second change.
I really liked it but I haven't read any of his short stories. If I remember correctly, it's not as long as it seems (its still looks pretty short) because in the edition she held up it has a bunch of stuff at the end and an introduction that isn't the actual story.
I didn't like "All Summer in a Day" back in sixth grade either, but I loved Fahrenheit (especially for its ideas and what it says about why we tell stories), and Bradbury is probably my favorite author. I prefer is longer short stories, like "Rocket Man" and "The Sound of Thunder."
Also, Miss Peregrines is AMAZING!!! I picked it up last year around Halloween and I had a really good time reading it :) I can't wait to start Hollow City
So many of these I need to get to, too. The Diviners, The Name of the Wind, Miss Peregrine's, something by Colleen Hoover... Also, I need to start the Mistborn series already.
KAT you're killin it with diversity with this crop of books right here. And I second the fear of commitment to books I hope that doesn't say anything about me as a person 😬 and your gonna get em all cause you're katylicious definition readin books like crazy
I actually recommend watching the Game of Thrones tv show before reading the book. At least the first season anyway, because it's a difficult book to get into for a lot of people I know and I think that if you get into the tv series then you'll want to read the books
My suggestion for Game of Thrones is to get it on Audiobook. Thats what I did because it is so long. It really helped me to get through all of them. I am currently listening to the 5th book. Plus it lets you still read other books and not feel bad.
Omg! You have to read the name of the wind!! It is large and quite intimidating, but after reading the first couple of chapters you don't even notice it anymore! You'll fly through it, trust me it's great :D And the final book in the trilogy is coming out this year as well!
Poison Study is a great book (though I didn't think much to the rest of the series) and Pride and Prejudiced is just a must. I've been meaning to pick up The Diviners as well, but the wait for the sequel and the horrible (HORRIBLE!) cover change really bugged me. Happy reading!
I want to start the Mistborn series this year and I definitely need to read The Diviners. I'm going to read a Colleen Hoover book too but I think I'm starting with Slammed!
I'm reading Game of Thrones right now after watching the show. It can be hard to get through because you already know what happens, but it's still very very good.
I definitely want to read quite a few of the books on here in 2015! Especially Mistborn, some of Jane Austen's stuff, and Fahrenheit 451. I also want to get to The Sword of Shannara trilogy, The Night Circus, Stormlight Archive, and The Bone Season. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BUCKET LIST!
I read Maybe Someday about a week ago and it was my first Colleen Hoover book and I became so obsessed that since then I've finished four more books by her and I NEED MORE!
YES I REALLY WANT TO READ A GAME OF THRONES TOO. SO many people rave about the series + tv show! :) Same for Hopeless! I really love Colleen Hoover and need to pick it up.
Have you heard of the book "Relentless" by Karen Lynch? It's a really awesome book. It's the first in a trilogy, I believe, and the last book comes out later this year.
Great list! There are so many books you mentioned that I want to read too. I hope to get to The Name of the Wind at the end of january and I just ordered the Mistborn trilogy! Good luck with your bucket list! :)
I read the first three Song of Ice and Fire (GoT) books before each if their seasons but gave up when I watched season four before book four. I love the books SO MUCH MORE than the show (and it is my favourite show besides Walking Dead) but they are so long I put off the fourth book for too long...
I just discovered your channel from the teen vogue YA vloggers post!! I really enjoy your videos and I had my Goodreads app open on my phone adding all of the books you were suggesting :P I have never watched any YA book vloggers, but I think I'm gonna stick with ya for a while!
Yayy! The Kane Chronicles! Hope you like it!😆 You should try the Fablehaven series when you get the chance! It's a middle grade/ children's but it's soo interesting and the world so original and complex! Haha..I don't know if you'll get the chance though😂
I am in the same boat as you with Game of Thrones! I've watched the show already and need to start at least the first book! It's been a goal of mine to start that series for 3 year, lol. I also haven't read Pride and Prejudice (tried to several times) but I've seen every movie/show adaptation known to man. Ooo! The Diviners was great! I hate the new covers too. Blech! It would be good for October if you like to theme read around Halloween (and want to wait that long). HAHAHA, Ransom Riggs should totally use your alternate title of Peculiar Children for book 3!! ;)
I remember I read the beginning of Miss Peregrines in second grade, but then I started another book. I was a reading prodigy, but I was a second grader with a very short attention span.
Gr8 List! I didn't know most of the books but I do want to read Game of Thrones too :) I haven't watched the tv show yet b/c I want to see if I like the book first.
Omigod omigod I got so excited when you said you were reading Miss Peregrine's!!!!! I FREAKING LOVE THAT BOOK AND IT IS THE WORST THING THAT THE THIRD INE IS COMING OUT NEXT YEAR
Can someone please explain to me how to use book outlet? Like when I go to the website and type in 'The Elite by Kiera Cass' for example, the book doesn't up. None of the books that are popular do. Can someone please tell me how you find awesome books like that at the book outlet website?
Pride and Prejudice is soo freaking awesome, you won't regret reading it! It might not be very much action but the characters and the dialouge are so clevver, I love it and I promise you will :)
Great list of books! If you enjoy Game of Thrones and that sort of high fantasy then I'd recommend Magician, the first book of the Riftwar Saga by Raymond E. Feist, excellent book! Anyway, keep up the great videos!
Kat, I started watching the first season of GoT as well, but I stopped to read the book. I'm a little more than half way through and I'm LOVING it, so I think you will too. :)
MISS PEREGRINE'S MISS PEREGRINE'S MISS PEREGRINE'S
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
Maybe I should pick up Daughter of Smoke and Bone this year... ;D
jessethereader LOL I edited out a clip of me saying "JESSE LOOK I'M READING MISS PEREGRINE'S SO YOU HAVE TO READ DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE OKAYYYYY" XD
Hey they are making a movie out of Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children. I'm pretty excited.
READ DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE!! PLEASE!!
michelle r. Yup! I'm pretty sure Tim Burton is directing it! The book is definitely on my TBR list for this year :)

Oooooooohhhhohohohoohohohoohh
Wanna buddy read Name of the Wind? It's on my list for this year as well!
'
YESSSS I'm so down! Do you have any idea of when you might wanna read it?
Probably wouldn't be able to until summer time.. Cuz college and stuff
PeruseProject Summer would be perfect! I definitely have plenty to read in the meantime :)

Woah! Can I join in? I've been wanting to read it for so long now, but it's kind of daunting! I feel like if I knew someone was reading it too, I would actually pick it up.

I've actually already watched the Lizzie Bennet Diaries! It's part of why I want to finally get around to reading the source material! :)
Did you know they came out with a book about the Lizzie bennet diaries? It's supposed to be Lizzie's diary :) so you get to read what happens between each video.
Kerry Peterson I read it, it was really good!!!
THE DIVINERS YES
Kassidy Voinche so kindly bought that for me for my birthday and I cannot wait to read it in all it's glory
Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children is an absolutely amazing book! And the second one, Hollow City, is just as good! Enjoy! xxx
if you havent already I suggest reading SERIES of UNFORTUNATE EVENTS by lemony snicket PS it is a series of 13 books im on the 10th
OMG I've just finished reading every single one of Jane Austens books! Honestly once you get over the oldie English writing you realise how awesome they are. Pride & Prejudice is my favourite!
I have also watched Game of Thrones before reading the book, it's on my TBR for 2015 too :)
I hadn't read any Colleen Hoover until December 2014, and I have fallen in love with her writing, she's amazing.
Every single video not only am I envious of your beautiful books but also your gorgeous eye shadow.
Allegiant was torture for me because I was also spoiled😔
Allegiant took me three weeks to finish, I want those week back
I sugest Paper Towns by John Green. soon good!!!! I hate that Paper Town lives under the TFIOS shadow. So much better than TFIOS. at least for me.
Radhacelis YES!!
I know it's late, but the bucket list I would have:
Finishing The Dark Tower series [I actually JUST started Book 7 today]
Getting all caught up on A Song of Ice And Fire [I began with Book 4 coming into this year and now I'm on the fifth book]
I was finally able to get a copy of a Lorien Legacies book, even though it was the fifth book which was pretty good so now I have to go back and read the 1st 4 and I think the next one will be out by that time.
I'm also thinking about The Fire Sermon
Your eyeliner is on point!
Aaaaaand, ugh, I mourn the old Diviners cover. I don't think I've heard one person say they prefer the new style more. Good luck with your list!
My bucket list features:
The Giver by Lois Lowry (because I'm a terrible person and haven't read it yet)
The 100 by Kass Morgan (I also committed a deadly sin and watched the show first XD)
Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl (Because cliffhangers)
Wicked by Gregory Maguire (I KNOW I KNOW I DID IT AGAIN I SAW THE MUSICAL FIRST)
Sword Art Online by Reki Kawahara (I SUCH A TERRIBLE PERSON BUT SUCH A GOOD ANIME)
Checkmate by Malorie Blackman (Also cliffhangers)
The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare (I need more Magnus in my life)
And, of course, various other books that I don't yet own xD
I've loved Brandon Sanderson ever since Robert Jordan introduced me to him through the WoT series. I guess Sanderson finished it for him after Jordan passed away. I like your taste in literature as well. Lots of fantasy and escapist books. Love that kind of stuff.

GAME OF THRONES YAS KAT YAAAAS
don't worry, I was a naughty reader as well with it and felt the same way. But, I will say that watching the show beforehand is a good thing, because you already know the world and how it works, and it emphasizes the perfect casting. I absolutley adored the Poison Study series by Maria V. Snyder! I had no idea a fourth book was coming out. Thanks for making my day!
I did the same thing with The Kane Chronicles! I need to get through that this year.
Same!
Me three! I want to finish the Kane Chronicles before Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard come out!
Definitely more of A.S. King and the Mortal Instruments series along with the other Cassandra Clare books and maybe some rereads of series that I liked a lot (Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy again!)

GAME OF THRONES
AND FAHRENHEIT 451
OH MY GOSH
OH MY GOSH
YOU'LL LOVE THEM
I can't wait to hear your opinion! Those are one of my most favourite books ever, and I loooove A Song of Ice and Fire, although I have 2 more books to read.
We're coming up on the end of the year. Can't wait to see how much of your book-et list you acomplished

Miss peregrine... Took awhile to get into. I almost did not finish it several times. It's only the last third of the book that was interesting
I want to read Fahrenheit 451 (might have spelled that wrong) and I don't want to. Last year in sixth grade, I read one of his short stories and despised it. Have you read it, all summer in a day? I just hated it but I want to read Fahrenheit 451 so I might want to give him a second change.

The Red Pyramid is so good I read it for the 2014 Booktubeathon I couldn't put it down. I want to continue on with the series this year.
Ahhhhh! Miss Peregrine! I love those books. Random Riggs is so great. I hope you get to that one.
Kane Chronicles is AWESOME so is the PJ/KC crossover. I will be doing #BookNerdigan videos on them this week
Also, I need to start the Mistborn series already.
woah kat! you haven't read fahrenheit 451?! (sadly i did not like that book)
AND OMG YES I AM ATTEMPTING TO READ A GAME OF THRONES AS WELL TOO (((:
KAT you're killin it with diversity with this crop of books right here. And I second the fear of commitment to books I hope that doesn't say anything about me as a person 😬 and your gonna get em all cause you're katylicious definition readin books like crazy
Ugly Love by Coleen Hoover is going to be turned into a film! Just picked it up to read. And Miss Peregrine's amazing!!
The Poison Study series is one of my absolute favorites! Definitely try to read it.
The study books are sooooooo good! You will love them! Maria V. Snyder is my all-time favorite author!
I have Miss Peregrine's, Pride and Prejudice and Hopless on mine too!
Omg! You have to read the name of the wind!! It is large and quite intimidating, but after reading the first couple of chapters you don't even notice it anymore!
You'll fly through it, trust me it's great :D
And the final book in the trilogy is coming out this year as well!
AND THE DINVINERS!! I'm in the middle of reading it rn and its so good!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE COLLEEN HOOVER. I HONESTLY CAN NOT RAVE ABOUT HER ENOUGH
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BUCKET LIST!
thebookologist Thank you! And good luck with your book bucket list too! (I wanna read Stormlight Archive and The Bone Season as well!) :)
I just finished the first book of A Song of Ice and Fire, Game of Thrones, yesterday! It was the most amazing book ever!
Your eye makeup reminds me of the book Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. It's beautiful.
I'm hoping to finish the heir series and the lunar cronicals. I just got cinder and the warrior heir!!
I need that writing craft books review soon. I am so excited to see what you have to say about them.
I love Farenheit 451! I think you'll enjoy it.
I just finished The Diviners last night and I absolutely loved it!!!
Your makeup is on point
Totally not bookish topic:: Your eye shadow is gorgeous!
jessethereader i just finished miss perigrine...! and i read chaper 1 of the hollow city its so awsome! what do u think?
I read the first three Song of Ice and Fire (GoT) books before each if their seasons but gave up when I watched season four before book four.
I love the books SO MUCH MORE than the show (and it is my favourite show besides Walking Dead) but they are so long I put off the fourth book for too long...
I just discovered your channel from the teen vogue YA vloggers post!! I really enjoy your videos and I had my Goodreads app open on my phone adding all of the books you were suggesting :P I have never watched any YA book vloggers, but I think I'm gonna stick with ya for a while!
So I just finished daughter of smoke and bone and like...I understand now. I understand your love for them because just...beautiful
Yayy! The Kane Chronicles! Hope you like it!😆 You should try the Fablehaven series when you get the chance! It's a middle grade/ children's but it's soo interesting and the world so original and complex! Haha..I don't know if you'll get the chance though😂
Every time you upload, I wonder what type of bloopers we'll get to see in the video :)
Literally love them :''''')
The Miss Peregrine's books are SO good! Read it soon please! Not enough people have read it, oh my gosh!
I really really want to read Miss Peregrine's this year too!! Especially because the movie adaption by Tim Burton is coming out next year YAY
Omigod omigod I got so excited when you said you were reading Miss Peregrine's!!!!! I FREAKING LOVE THAT BOOK AND IT IS THE WORST THING THAT THE THIRD INE IS COMING OUT NEXT YEAR
I started reading Mistborn after checking out a copy from my school library but I still haven't finished it because I had to return it before summer.
YAS POISON STUDY SERIES!! I first heard about this series through one of Christines videos and I love it!
Omg I read Fahrenheit 451 my junior year and loved it!!
Something about watching your videos makes me feel very productive. You have the voice of Goddess Productive.
oh my god that ending though!! hahaha
Jusy about to start the infinite sea by rick clancy 3nd book in yhe fith wave series loved the first one
