Not going to lie how he (Eduard) said you did it is how I thought it was done at first, but I think more importantly what matters in most tricks is the order they are preformed in. I mean sometimes I think I see things out of place. But who knows both are very possible.

No key card, no peeking, your 99% of certainty is not even close. The real key name is Juan Tamariz. And the cards being separated by those two piles.

Hello, great video ! It's the first video I react to but I really like your channel and your spirit. Well done and keep up the good work !
About why they were fooled, I think the brilliant idea from Siegfried Tieber was to make Penn and Teller come on stage. Other magicians did it but it was mostly to demonstrate their confidence, but here, I really love the fact that it actually played a very important part in fooling them. if I'm not mistaken, there is a (very natural and well executed) move they otherwise may have spotted and that could lead them to understand how the trick works (I try myself to be obscure here)… I think you understand which move I'm talking about. They did not catch it, I guess, precisely because they on stage and were busy at the moment with other things (specially Teller). Great respect for the performer because it was very ballsy and creative to outsmart Penn and Teller like that (and not by creating a misdirection about the method). Seing the routine from the front and without being involved in the card manipulation makes it actually a little easier to understand how it is done, but we still have to admire the presentation, the execution and the audacity it took to pull it off with grace and confidence.

Eduard Todor In fact they said that if they were fooled at first sight, if the performance is great then they give it to the magician.
They really believed it was a force in the first place so they were fooled.

The one where he has the two jokers moving in the deck to sandwhich the card is a better trick imo. I have no clue how that's done. This trick I can see how its done and noticed the first time around. I am not a magician by any means. But I do have a brother and a father who are damn good at slight of hand so every once in a while I do notice things (and I can do a few tricks as well but yeah anybody that even knows a little bit would know how I perform them lol) I saw how he did this every step of the way but by no means can I do this since I lack the slight of hand necessary to perform it. Its still impressive and looks great though. And btw he has two of the magicins that performed on penn and teller in his comments. How did they find this guy lol. That is the real magic right there. Mad props to them and eduard.Edit: Just let me clarify I am not dissing his trick. It is damn good and well performed and imo takes a certain amount of skill to perform it. It is a damn nice and fine trick. Just saying I liked the other one he did better.

3:17 Does he see the card showing in his left hand out of the corner of his eye, then work out what their cards are from that? He doesn’t shuffle at the start, so he could memorise the deck order, then recall which two cards were under the card he’s seen.

  • @Mad5cout
    @Mad5cout 4 роки тому

He memorized the order of the 'random' deck. Penn and Teller took the cards one at a time and he had them put them back in reverse order and may have even displaced them by one card in the deck. Even with all the cuts and so forth, the order of the cards is not disturbed. So, he could theoretically find the first card and then infer the second based on what the original order of the cards was. This would also allow him to find it as quickly as he did because he already knew its numerical placement in the deck based on where he found the first card. There might even be some suit and numerical pattern in the original order to make it easier to remember.

12:34 - I’m not sure ur on the right track anymore... (I’m sure uve realized that by now). It reminded me more of the trick I used to do as a kid with two piles of cards-one red and one black: I would turn my back and ask the spectator to cut one of the piles, remove the top card, remember it, and replace it into the other pile (and cut the pile if they want). Pretty easy to find the card but also easy to figure out if they look at the cards.
I later adapted it so that one pile was only the even reds and the odd blacks and vise versa.
I later adapted it again by prepping the deck by interlacing the two piles so I could spread them face up and they would appear completely shuffled.
    And so on...
Funny how the silliest tricks can be tweaked and disguise to fool the top magicians!

Juan Tamariz sells this trick online for $6. Who knew all you had to do was learn a $6 trick to fool Penn and Teller. This goes back to what you were saying in your previous video of what it takes to fool Penn and Teller....and it's not always being "the best," but I'm not taking anything away from this dude cause he pulled it off to perfection.

One card will be at an even position, one card will be at an odd position. When you cut the deck, this is still true, even if they switch parity. So when they deal into 2 stacks, one stack will have all the even position cards and the other will have all the odd position cards.

I don't know what you mean by a key card escape....
    He never shuffled the cards.
    The deck was stacked.
Penn had a free choice and Teller took the next one.
Penn put his back first and Teller second - reversing the order.
Deal into 2 piles and the 2 cards out of place are Penn and Teller's.
Think if the deck is stacked red, black, red, black, etc.
Penn picks red and the next black is forced on Teller.
Penn puts his first and then Teller.
Now the order is; red, black, red, red, black, black, red, black, etc.
Do several cuts and the colors stay in the same order.
Deal into 2 piles and all the blacks will be in one pile - except for Penn's red. And all the reds will be in one pile - except for Teller's red.
This wasn't how he stacked the deck, but same concept. However he stacked them was genius!!!... Because I haven't figured that part out yet - maybe high, low, high, low, etc... This way you'll get a good mix of suits.
    Even a low/high, middle, low/high, middle, etc.....
Or even better; odd, even, odd, even, odd, even.... This would give a good mix of suits and values. Jacks odd, queens even, Kings odd. When you deal into 2 piles whatever odd card is in the even pile is Penn's and whatever even card is in the odd pile is Teller's (or vice-versa). If I remember correctly, they both had 8's - Penn 8hearts and Teller 8diamonds, if so, then this isn't the way his deck was stacked. I'm still playing with it.

I went to see Juan Tamariz's trick and effectively, those tricks are very similar but Tamariz's is way better and way less comprehensible because he make his spectators shuffle their packet of cards before revealing ! (trick almost failed because of stupid girl that forgot her card).
I don't think there is a force because he said there was no force. I just tried the trick myself (and you don't need to force but you have to know the *** card principle). I managed to do it slightly differently.
There is two things I don't understand though : First, for Teller's card, I am pretty sure he is really using the *** card principle, it's really obvious at 3:19 and he did it right in Penn's face who saw nothing. LOL !
What I don't understand is for Penn's card : If he was using the *** card principal, he has to know the top card of the packet in his right hand. The only think I can think of, is that when he does the Waterfall, he looks at it. He probably did a thumb break and peaked at the top card, but he did it really really fast.
What I don't understand also, is why he flipped the top 3 cards of each packet. It surely for something because I know that magicians don't do something for nothing, everything is part of the act.

Random cards are always, 4 of hearts, 8 of diamonds, jack of clubs, ace of hearts and spades. This is my observation since i saw magic.

Really? That seemed obviously like a “waterfall force.” I mean 8 of hearts AND 8 of diamonds? How did he do it then? Wow that was really good.

I think the two eights was mostly luck:) I do not think he ever shuffled the cards and he separated them carefully into two piles... I think those piles would look different if the Penn's and Teller's cards were returned to the pile the same way they were removed, but they were switched.
