    I Just started hockey this season, and have been trying to get better than my bro. he's 2 years younger than me ( i'm 17) and plays U18 Rep tier 2 as a first liner and i got until January 1st to roster as an AP. been doing this for about an hour every day and i'm already insanely better. Love the content its super useful keep it up!

    Hi Kevin!
    I did almost the same challenge (10 mins a day, figure 8s, stickhandling speed, but no backhand toe-drags) for a full year.
    My results weren't as impressive as yours (what results in just 21 days!), but I'm still very happy with what I got after this year of stickhandling 🏒
    More confidence, more control, more fun 😃
    If you want to learn more about how my challenge went, let me know. I posted a full summary on my blog, but UA-cam seems to block the link (this is the second time I post this comment).
    Anyway, congratulations again for the results you got, it's very inspiring and makes me want to go even further. 💪
    Keep continue the great job with coach Dan ! 👍👍
    Dorian, from France

      A lot has to do with muscle growth in wrist and forearm muscles. Try buying 5 to 10 pound stick weights that wrap around the shaft of your stick when you are practicing. My stick is loaded with 15 pounds of stick weights. I have 3 five pound stick weights wrapped around my shaft. You will notice after only a few weeks maybe a month depending on how long and often you practice that not only are your hands faster because now your stick feels like it weighs nothing but your shot power will also increase. I would start at 5 pounds than after you feel like it's going great increase another 5 pounds than another. Do not load up all stick weights right away. Build to it or you will find your top hand and forearm will burn out really quick. Cheers

    Great video... but....
    1- whats that surface are u using?
    2- u dont have skates on. So u hold the stick in different points? If u had the skates on u d be higher so whats the point of improving in a way u wont be like on the ice???

    • @hockeytraining
      @hockeytraining  Рік тому +1

      1 - Synethic ice tiles or stickhandling/shooting pad
      2 - I cut my stick shorter so it's the same height.

    • @hockeytraining
      @hockeytraining  3 роки тому

      They were stickhandling sessions from the Hockey Training TV app. You can download it and check them out. Basically, a variety of drills with limited equipment needed... each session usually has 5 drills and we do each drill 2x30 secs.

      Yes, you should get comfortable with the movement first and then work on head up. Make sure you're doing other drills with head up though, like your standard stickhandling on your forehand side
