In 2020, Reynhard Sinaga was sentenced for life for 159 counts of rape and other sexual offences, against 48 men. But police found evidence relating to more than 200 victims, many of whom remain unidentified.
One of Sinaga’s victims, Daniel, speaks for the first time to break the silence that surrounds male rape. His powerful testimony contributes to an important national conversation in the UK, where sexual violence against men remains one of the most underreported crimes.

And it's not just within the gay community. Straight men are also victimised. Very under-reported, and it's a big disservice to male victims whose voices are often not heard or drowned out. More needs to be addressed about abuse and sexual violence against men and boys

Males get raped at home, school, in their neighborhoods! 1 parent should be able to stay home and supervise their children after school!

I got sexual abused as a man I hated my hole life for it but now I'm fithing back and destroying his life for what he did but not like torture or anything just telling everybody and showing the videos even to his wife.

I was a 9 year old victim of rape by an older male cousin. He thought it was just fun and games and didn't feel bad at all. I was afraid to tell anyone because I thought it was my fault. It took years for me to be able to forgive myself. As an older man now I still struggle with intimacy and can't talk about it. I have attempted suicide 2 times and still think about suicide a lot. My cousin is a successful man in my community and is viewed as a tough macho man while I am made fun of for being gay. It is really not fair but I know that ultimately God will be the one to sort it out. I see these videos and I feel so sorry for these men because I can feel their pain because I have it too. Be strong if you have been a victim and don't blame yourself. Its not your fault you were just a child.

I've heard of life imprisonment been handed to just a few months ago in USA to a man who rape a little girl, the mom caught him and he took the child and left the house before the cop came, when to a gas station bathroom and use bleach to try and get rid of evidence.

I actually had evidence. But the police did nothing, other than laugh in my face. It still boggles my mind the way it was handled. It caused me to lose hope, and I gave up on looking for help from the police. Then I too chose to pick myself up, and move forward! ❤ Love to you as well!

How can someone convicted of over 140 rapes only be given 40 years? (Originally 30) You can be jailed for life for one rape and yet here is this serial sex offender with a chance of release in forty years when he will be in his seventies! It makes no sense. It is literally 3 months for each rape!
Same as how the people who did the 44 days in hell crime only got 20. 1 is even out now.

ive been SA'ed by an elder of my community... i didnt even know what sex was at that time.. and as i get know about it.. i started to blame myself for everything... cuz he even had a family... he youngest son was like my own little brother.... i remember telling him about it... now he also got the trauma.. he doesnt even talk to me anymore like he used to do.. (note: i was 12 and his son was 9 at that time)

God be with you for being so strong. As a woman, I agree that assaults on men are not taken serious enough. I’m so thankful for your courage, and giving a insight to the world that it is different for a man than it is for a woman. Man is seen as a persona of strength, courage, and protection. The idea of a man being overpowered by another is act of dominance, but Ray did what he did in cowardice way. I do not believe what happened to Daniel diminishes his manhood at all, but someone taking advantage of someone else unconscious or not is a level of low that no human being should be subjected to.

It would be well within his rights if he wanted to be prejudiced against our country. The fact is the rapist *is* from our country. Specifically from Sumatera, the Batak tribe, the Sinaga clan.
It’s a disgusting habit for people of our country to sweep things under the rug, play the “no true scotsman” fallacy, and then let evils go unchecked. When all is going well, we’ll gladly claim credit, “oh putra adat...” but whenever shit happens we’ll say, “oh bukan bagian adat kami”. Then without anyone realizing it, there’s a mountain of victims already piled.
Do I (or anyone, really) think that every Indonesian/Batak man is like the rapist Sinaga? No. So let’s not make it about us. We are not the victims, we are not the ones who are suffering. Who cares about us losing face or “bikin malu” that I see everywhere. Our so-called shame is NOTHING compared to the pain and suffering of these ACTUAL victims. Why not extend our hearts to the victims instead of making it about us.
If we bother mentioning our country, it should be in addressing the issues we have in out society. What enabled people like Sinaga to feel so entitled that he felt he could violate another human being’s rights?

I have been sexually harassed/assaulted by my own relatives many times when I was a kid 😢 I’m in late 20s but still it haunts me they are married settled but my life is ruined I have spent many sleepless nights crying 😢 self harm was normal was me cut my fingers arms with blades and broken glasses then met someone and he turned into an animal had to stay with this monster for 3 years he made my life hell I will just say please keep an eye on your kids talk to them make them feel safe nobody has done that for me I’m even crying now 😢 my life is over but I just wants to say keep your kids safe do not trust anyone i don’t have energy to write anything else it’s just 10% of what happened to me 😢 can’t even talk about the rest 90% I just can’t

I got sexually assaulted at a festival where I was praying for peace. I was drugged and raped so bad I got bacterial meningitis and lost my teeth. Then I came to this city where I got assaulted at a concert and at work and went to emergency room and was cuffed to a bed and molested and punched and terrorized by the staff and then sent to a mental hospital to clean up their abuse and then after the bruises were gone my husnand was allowed to see me and I went back to work only to be assaulted by transgenders at work and quit. They don't respect women in this country or kids. The police terrorize women for turning people in to police and scream at them and they need to lose their badge. How do I get staff at hospital and military rapists and predators arrested?
