I am 60 years old. I have never regretted frogging something. Life is to short to have extra guilt hanging around waiting to be finished.

That's a great way to look at it. Sometimes, it's too easy to succumb to the sunk cost fallacy when it comes to amigurumi. Better to just rip the band aid of and frog it!
Given how ADHD I am and how many WIP that mentality is so refreshing. I have so many half finished cross stitch projects that I have literally had for decades just guilting myself over them.
Ok but what if instead of finishing them… you combine a bunch of them together into a WIP monster 🤪

@@SkeinSpider What about a franken pattern with your Wips. so you make something from your old shapes then frog the originals for other (or the same) patterns. the franken Wip?
The last time I went through my WIPs stash, I took the weird body parts of the projects I was scrapping and added them to a bin for a Frankenstein project. That charmander body would look great with that duck bill on a different sized head, tbh
Ooooh, a Frankenstein project sounds like fun! I could do that with some of the smaller pieces I don't intend to use or finish.

Yeah, I agree. Luckily, there's really not much work that needs to be done to finish it.

Yes finish the OG spider in your great aunt's memory. Maybe eventually give it a granny square on the back instead of the pattern you used for yours. I think that would be a cute memorial❤
I would really love to see the finished dragons. The three half done ones look already so cute 😍 For the green worm-dragon I would prefer big wings and no legs😉 And the wolf/bordercollie would be very interesting 🙂

Finishing the spider is a wonderful idea! Also the legs of the wolf are so shapely. They look wonderful. I'm excited to see your finished Raymond!
I think it would be hilarious to take what you have of the little frog now and mount it (like people do animal heads) and stick it on the wall 😂

Omg, I love the mounted frog idea! I might have to find or make myself a little back board and even a tiny plaque to go underneath the frog lol! I could stick up on my pegboard!!
I really hope you finished the OG spider! Knowing the story about how it got started makes it feel more special, and it's basically almost done anyways :P

I think you should definitely finish the spider.
The Charmeleon body could work! I might have a go at making a head piece and see if that makes the body look any less jacked lol.

I know I stuck with the Pokémon theme, but that was literally the only thing that came to mind when I saw the body. I hope it works out well.
I have just found out that what I believed to me my personal flaw is nothing but a symptom of the enthusiastic crocheter!😅

That little orange body could totally be a kobold
Wyverns have wings and back legs. But the back legs being a contrasting color would look really cool. Maybe a darker green 💚
And whether you do the back legs or not I think it should have medium wings so like a little bit larger than the span of your fingers when your hand is outstretched what kind of be perfect size for him
You could turn the Griffin into a centaur if you frog the top of it and made it flush tone...
I think it is a good shape for a Centaur❤

The overly buff orange body could be altered with a doll head and make it Jack Jack from The Incredibles😂.
You might have to frog the hands and feet to put them in a flesh tone color.
IDK if it's just my phone screen but it looks very reddish to me. And it could be one of Jack Jack's outfits that is not his incredible suit...
I don't know it just feels like that goes with the overly buff body LOL

Thankyou, thankyou thankyou, Im now going through my immense pile of wips and Ive now got a finish and frog pile! Also thankyou for holding your yarn and hooks the same way as myself. For years Ive been told I hold everyrhing the wrong way. Well Ive been doing things since I was 13 ( Im 66 and a half now) so I doubt Ill change now.
I have promised myself I'll only start two at the time. I mean two crochet projects. No one is speaking anything about those other craft projects like cross stitch, embroidery or leather work... 😅
Haha, that's clever, spreading your WIP's out across crafts! I've tried to impose a bit of a limit on myself before too....wasn't as successful as I hoped lol.

if you run out of the great aunt brown u could just frog n resize the pattern? also plz finish the frogs, n mostly complete dragons (we dont need the 3rd dragon) and the wyvern needs comically tiny wings n skiny legs. also charmander made me think of a baby doll, lol + glacion could be cool for the next eeveelution! :)
lol maybe i should do that too, i have a drawer full of wips i started years ago ... When i first started to crochet and didn't know how to manage my time to finish projects xD
I must be an odd ball. I limit myself to 2 WIPs. One crochet and one knit. I won't start another project until I finish one because I know I will never get back to it.
That's probably the best approach lol.
I just find myself losing enthusiasm for projects sometimes and I know if I try and force myself to finish, the quality of my work will suffer. Better (for me at least) to do something else and come back to the original project at a later date.
This came across my feed again so i thought id ask how the progress on these guys is going? Maybe we could get an update video about it lol 😂
Not that great unfortunately lol. I just wish I had more time. I've finished a few of the smaller pieces and frogged a couple of others because I needed the yarn. For some of the larger ones like Leafeon, I might end up making a vid about completing them, it'd be a good way to actually motivate me to finish them off.
The Charmander body looks a lot like machop so maybe check the pattern and so for machop

Some Wips are too far completed to simply frog them. I now have 2 Wips that need finishing, which I keep putting off, both cannot easily be frogged. I can't tell you to make time to finish these wips, as the reason why you need to look at why you didn't finish them. My luck dragon I put aside during 2020, & was hurting my back at the time because of the length of it, I now use a different chair, & that might not hurt my back like it did, however I keep creating new wips. The other is a new wip, I made the bottom of a momma turtle from the memory game & decided it was too small, so made a bigger bottom for the memory game, & now have this wip, I just bought the yarn I need for what I envision this wip to be, however I have written 3 patterns that I want to do first. lol that's how it goes.
