    Today is day 7 and lost 3 pounds, less aches, feeling springy 😊 i started sprints. Because i have energy. Been sedentary since lockdown. Rock bottom depression. Yup the worst place anyone can be. Pcos. Insulin resistant. I eat only grassfed organic red meat. Organic salmon once this week. I use grassfed tallow. No dairy. I havent felt any keto flu. No headaches. No expeeince of low energy. I wonder why 😂 im very unhealthy and unfit. Do you think it's because of the grassfed meat? Anyway im grateful. And determined to at least hit 30 days. I need to lose 30 pounds. Lost 3 pounds in 6 days 😊 cannot wait to be a 1 year carnivore. In juat a week my life is changing. 🎉

      I think it is unlikely that grass fed makes any difference in 1 week unless you have some extreme sensitivity. I guess you would have similar benefits even with chicken in the short term.

      Don't worry about the weight, it may stay the same or even go up because you'll be gaining muscle and bone as you lose the extra fat. How you feel and body composition are what matters. Good luck.

      @michaelkeselman thanks 😊. I started sprints and bodyweight stuff. I think my muscles melted away in the last 4 years 😫 I look forward to gaining strength. I'd love to start indoor climbing once I feel better, physically & mentally. New life I hope 💪

    My eyesight has improved 99% in the last 3 years of carnivore. I’ve had severe tinnitus for the past 10 years. Usually to the point I wanted to die, now it is also 99% gone. I think tinnitus has mostly to die with insulin and sugar which no doctor will listen to me when I try to ask them if they correlate

      So glad to find your comment here to up the validity! Thank you!🙏🏻😊

    I have been on carnivore 420+ days and now I am on the lion side. Since January 12 of 2024. I got kicked off my pharmaceutical drugs because I was refusing to take the full dose and I was turning them down 5 to 10 increments a month listening to my body. It’s been five months that I’ve been off medication for my multiple sclerosis. I am currently a 32 year old man that’s been on pharmaceuticals since I was 19. I’m over there bullshit it takes a whole quality of life away. and Stemcells outside of the US have shown me the biggest benefits. I will never go back to big Pharma. Thank you so much, sir. I appreciate it.

    My eyesight has definitely improved. Not 100% but definitely better. Have astigmatism, right side weak and prone to lazy eye. Lazy eye has largely resolve and sees much closer to the "good" left eye. Floaters almost completely gone. And also on the hearing front, tinnitus has basically disappeared! I always thought it was just hearing damage from guitars, guns, and motorcycles.

      Can you please share exactly what your diet looks like? Like what exactly you eat, eating frequency, etc.?

    • @michaelkeselman
      @michaelkeselman 12 днів тому +1

      @@lennygarrison6836 Well, at the moment I'm doing Lion diet which is just red meat water and salt if you want it. But that's just the last couple of months, because red meat and nothing else really feels the best. More consistent energy, hungry less often. I've been doing Carnivore for about a year. At first some dairy like cheese, cream, and yogurt. But after quitting coffee 6 months ago I just don't have dairy anymore. Mostly beef and some lamb but lots of other animal product things mixed in here and there like pork, chicken, and eggs. During the waterfowl hunting season had a good amount of goose and duck but that's all been eaten. I like beef liver and will eat a little bit once or twice a week. Lots of butter initially but it makes me break out, so I'm just using tallow now.
      As for frequency, I was once or twice a day, usually OMAD at night. I eat until it stops tasting good as the good Dr. Chaffee recommends. I love eating for the pleasure of it but not long into carnivore i noticed how i just don't have any desire to eat until at least mid day, and that I feel much better and enjoy my meals way more if I just don't eat until dinner. Always plenty of energy, but if I feels truly hungry I'll eat mid day or breakfast or whatever, not super strict, just intuitively.
      I work out moderately (hiking, push-ups, pullups nothing crazy) basically every day and my appetite and amount consumed before satiety doubles on the more intense days.
      I have to add that these eye problems have largely resolved, in my opinion, more from the elimination of plants and carbs than the meat itself. I used to eat so much goddamn rice and bread. And was never satisfied.
      Hope that's helpful.

    • @lennygarrison6836
      @lennygarrison6836 12 днів тому

      @@michaelkeselmanthanks for the reply Michael! Very informative and helpful! I too have bad vision. Especially in my right eye. I’ve been a carb eater, and mainly junk/processed food eater my entire life. I’m ready to take the plunge into the species appropriate diet. I’m tired of ALL the negative ailments that I have. How much improvement to your vision did you experience? What was your before and after prescription?

    • @michaelkeselman
      @michaelkeselman 12 днів тому +1

      @@lennygarrison6836 you're very welcome. Good luck to you, that's exciting.
      Haven't been to the optometrist in at least a decade. I don't wear glasses or have a prescription, but the right eye just doesn't see things as clearly far away. It's still weaker and not as sharp, but not as bad as it was and the progressive degradation that's happened over the years seems to have stopped or slowed but only time will tell.

    Hi Dr. Chaffee. I'm 30 days today carnivore(can't kick the coffee addiction lol). I feel 20 years younger 46 now. No more pain from pseudo gout, arthritis and the only rumblings in my stomach now is when I'm hungry(IBS/leaky gut). I just want you to know the impact you're having on people. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Cheers

    Male, 36. 6 days ago I started eating just meat and drinking just water because of the information you provide and the book “Change your diet, change your brain”. I lift 3 times a week. I feel that my energy is at the same level more or less throughout the day. No other major changes other than I don’t loose my temper as easily as before.
    Will try to comment back in a few weeks.

    • @michellealderson3440
      @michellealderson3440 19 днів тому

      After all the research I have read over the years I don’t believe vitamin A is a vitamin at all and is toxic and stores in the liver. We have been lied to about many sciences and the fact vital amines were created by the Rockefeller foundation. People I follow who have led me to this info dr garret smith, nutrition detective and work by grant genereux. I never felt good on dairy but I did love my eggs but also research showing choline helps store more toxins esp vit A in the liver, I keep eggs very minimal.

    Hi dr Chaffee, can you do a segment on sleep? I started carnivore 9 weeks ago to try and target my sleep issues…not getting nearly any deep sleep, and constantly waking up in the night. 3am specifically. I haven’t really had any improvement in that aspect, but I am able to fall asleep on my back now, and do so with my mouth closed, nose breathing, and without snoring.
    Also I am 23 male, not fat, I lift almost every day. No screens or food before bed. The whole ordeal, I’ve tried nearly everything. I’ve had maybe 2 nights the past 2 years where I wake up and feel fully refreshed

I started a low carbohydrate (30 grams) high protein diet. Now I feel fantastic, I've got more energy than I know what to do with. But I firmly believe it was bc I had simply eliminated everything. Now, I eat low carbohydrate and I let my blood glucose meter tell me which vegetables are worth eating. Although I am not diabetic I pay special attention to blood glucose spikes and Insulin levels. Constant high blood sugar and high Insulin is the root cause for all disease.

    Or do you mean 2/3 of calories should come from fat????

    question. im into bodybuilding. im using carnivore to help with gut and psoriasis and inflimation issues. im currently on a 1:1 fat to protein ratio at 3k calories...im dropping body fat quickly on day 16 but there was also a transition phase where i wasnt able to hit those calories and i have lost some muscle as well. i dropped from 195 to 183...
    i was about 15% bf before and now im looking like 12% abs coming in etc...
    but for those of us who want to "bulk" on carnivore and not lose muscle whats the best approach. obviously trying to slam down massive amounts of protein is not the best idea... should i be lookin at a 2:1 fat to protein ratio? At 1.5g protein to bodyweight i should be aiming for 280ish grams protein that leaves 280g fat to hit 3k. does that sound right?

    5 months postpartum here. Had gestational diabetes and history of pancreatitis and gallbladder dyskinesia. Been carnivore for the past month but A1C is still 5.8. Do you think I’m insulin resistant or do you think it’s a problem with the pancreas given my history of pancreatitis? Conventional doctors are of no help. They just tell me to exercise more even though I’m 123 lbs and exercise regularly.

    • @RosalindChaffee

      There is likely some amount of insulin resistance. Carnivore will absolutely help with that but it will take longer than a month. Give your body time to heal. It will happen. :)

      Eat until it doesn't taste good anymore, and don't worry about measuring cups and scales. Make sure you're getting enough fat, but also know it's always best to focus on health first and weight second. So get up, take a walk in the sun each day, and get enough sleep. As your body heals, the rest will follow. :)

      You are most likely short in either sodium, potassium, or magnesium as someone mentioned. Potassium and magnesium are the two most likely culprits as most people are deficient in them.
      No offense to the person saying drink more water, it would however make the situation worse as more urine means more loss of minerals.
      Drink if thirsty, simple as that, and avoid constant sipping which is more of an addiction.

      My opinion on losing to much weight is that you are used to seeing yourself and 99% of others on a high carb/sugar diet, excess weight, your weight on the keto/carnivorous diet it more like your natural weight but looks like you are too thin due to you think that being larger is normal.

    • @RosalindChaffee
      @RosalindChaffee 23 години тому

      Let her know that it doesn't rot in your guts. It has been demonstrated very clearly that your body absorbs the meat far more effectively, and it doesn't rot because it's not there to rot. Instead, it's in your body nourishing it. :) Also, let her know what (if any) mental and physical health benefits you personally have experienced and that you love that she cares about your health so you want her to know that you really are doing what is best for your own body.
