Your lucid explanations of what's going on with the Kemper has helped me to FINALLY fully grasp the difference(s) between "modeling" and "profiling". In short, two completely different worlds ..... two difference takes on how to bring the world of "real" guitar amps into the virtual / digital space. Thanks much for taking the time to produce your videos. best rgds
I learned more about the Kemper the past 30 minutes checking out your videos, than I have everywhere else the past 2 years. Cheers my man, you rule!! 🤘
I knew it! Kemper had a Metal Zone seating inside!! Now everthings makes Sense 😅 thank you for this videos..the dedication, effort and passion you put on this channel is speachless. Congratulations! 🙋♂️
Very very well explained. You gave me a much better understanding now, how to adjust an profile with amp and eq settings on the Kemper. You can really screw things up if you dont know what you are doing. Thx again. You really explain things well, to the point, fast. ☺☺
Dang man, excellent video. I just got the Kemper (though I already knew most of the nuances), but it's great to hear somebody with a keen ear go through and articulate a lot of the features that are rarely talked about. Even though I've found a few plug-and-play profiles, it's a night/day difference when you know what, when and how to tweak. So much to learn!
HW thanks for your videos, Been watching a few of them now and your knowledge has been insightful. I just got mine last month and now spending time with rig manager I realized its time to setup my own. This is great stuff. One thing you touched on is different guitars tones and how to dial them in better and that was helpful. I would play one profile that I love the next day grab a different guitar and say what happened... lol anyway thanks for your time in sharing man!
This video was a huge help to me in improving core tone/profiles i tweaked out from various houses (your guys profiles i haven't had to really touch at all. just exactly what i've wanted them to be). It also was great pairing up with the other thing i started doing with some profiles. Swapping out cabs. I generally go with a cab from either you guys or Britt that was a profile of an amp generally with a similar characteristic.
Very helpful, good watch! I think you missed an opportunity to mention the awesome pre/post switch in the EQ section. When switched to Pre, your EQ section becomes a 4-band Definition parameter, or a multiband amp distorsion control. I've cleaned up a lot of profiles by turning down the bass and maybe adding some mids in Pre mode.
I have been using a Kemper for almost a year with Brit Profiles , you video did help me understand little better. I would suggest that one set up different patches fro running with a power amp and speakers then different ones fro running direct.
Thank You for some very helpful information, not covered on the Kemper tutorials. Please make more. After watching this I am going to purchase your profiles. A simple video on how to install purchased packs would be very helpful to me as I really don't see any great explanations anywhere. Please keep in mind I am Technologically Challenged.
Hello, is a superb video. I have learnt about kemper a lot of. Your explication is clear, usefull and very gentle. Could suggest you to make a video serie about the kemper? of course when you have time to do it. Thanks for you effort. A very good work.
Working on more as we speak, there will be a lot more Kemper content on the way. Next video is about why Kemper sounds different moving from the bedroom to the stage.
Looking forwards to that H. W. as in my case it's from my bandroom/studio to the stage or from my bandrooms volume levels to outdoor concert volume levels. BIG difference.
Great info, and well made video too! Metal Zone popping up was hilarious... I am currently testing some overdrive pedals in the loop. That could be an interesting subject nowadays.
Man I can't tell you how much of an enlightenment this vid is. Complete common sense and I feel like a dolt for not getting this sooner. Of course if you crank the gainits going to sound odd. As you said the Kemper doesn't know what your amp does at higher gain settings unless you tell it... thanks man, insightful
Music to my ears man! I think that because they tried to make the layout and controls seem familiar to guitarists, it's resemblance to an actual tube amp can throw us off. Kemper is amazing at what it does!
ToneJunkie TV so true and acknowledging its limitations is how we get to the very best of this amazing bit of kit. I genuinely had a eureka moment. TJTV is rapidly becoming top rated viewing up there with That Pedal Show...
Hey HW. I am 3 weeks in to having a Kemper and I absolutely love it. I just wanted to say thanks for this video and the hours of other that have helped me get great sounds right away. Kind of off topic but now that it's a couple years later and there are more powered cabinet options do you still prefer the ASM or the Kemper Kabs? I have an unpowered Kemper and am looking for the best monitoring solution. Thanks,
My fav PRS and LP style guitar. It's a Ted McCarty SC 245 that were only made for a couple years before they reworked the model and went to the two peice bridges. Sometimes you can pick em up on reverb for pretty decent prices for a PRS too.
How do you have your Friedman ASM EQ’d at the monitor EQ output section? I have the ASC and think it usually needs a little tweak. Curious what you do?
Funny enough I love US1 and 2 At 2 and 2.5 gain respectively BECAUSE of how it changes the sound. I prefer that type of gain (using pedals to stack) as opposed to a pregained "higher level" profile
Watching some of your vids (along with Guitar for His glory vids) has convinced me that I need to go kemper for my digital rig. I want to purchase a proper cab to use with it as well because I can’t imagine not having the option to have a speaker at home. I see you have your kemper on a cab so I was wondering if you could maybe talk about that some on a vid? Or maybe just drop a reply comment or something lol. Just wanting to know what to look for, why you chose the cab you did and how well it works.
I use two pairs of full range EV PA cabs from their Tour-X line. A pair with 1X12 and a horn and a pair with 1X15 and a horn, it means I take a big rig with me to shows, but I use the Kemper solely for large venues, for smaller venues I use my vintage Twin Reverb with Altec's or my Vintage Boogie Mark IV with an EVM-12L I have the Kemper Rack and I power the cabs with a Crown XTi-2000. I believe H.W. was using a Friedman cab, they are supposed to make a really nice full range cab I heard Oli Herbert (R.I.P) of All That Remains use one at one of his pro-sessions and it sounded great. I chose the KPA because of the sounds he was getting.
I tried a Kemper today and almost every profile sounded muffled through the 1960 lead cab. I think I'm going to go back and try again after watching this video.
Absolutely loved the video! Helped me look at my kemper with a fresh new pair of eyes! By the way, what are your thoughts regarding the built-in tube screamer (green boos) and a real tube screamer or MAxon pedal?
Question ..... are most session guys buy the powered or un-powered version? How about the live guys, powered version, or un-powered version with a seperate power amp? Thanks
I have the un-powered KPA Rack, mounted in a 6U rack with a Furman power conditioner and a Crown XTi-2000 power amp. I send the stereo outs to each channel of the Crown and then I power 4 EV Tour-X PA cabs with it. Sometimes I only take one pair of the Tour-X cabs if the venue is mid-sized. I definitely can't recommend enough to getting the Kemper Remote as well, I can't do a show without it. The Remote has replaced my pedal board, the only other pedal I bring is a volume pedal that I use with the Remote to control the wah feature.
I own the Powered one. I run mine through a Marshall 412 cab with a pair of V30's and Creamback H75's when playing out and even at home practicing. I also have an FRFR that use at times.
Haven Cody that is a Friedman ASM 12. Nice cab. I use it for playing at home and monitoring while recording, but the sounds you are hearing are direct from the Kemper.

I owned a Kemper for over a year. Thanks to your video, it's the first time I understand what the controls do. Thank you!
I knew it! Kemper had a Metal Zone seating inside!! Now everthings makes Sense 😅 thank you for this videos..the dedication, effort and passion you put on this channel is speachless. Congratulations! 🙋♂️
Thanks for the info. Really opened up the use of EQ on the Kemper for me. Looking forward to checking out the Bend Sun
Thanks for all your reviews, tips, and explanations of the the Kemper Profiler. Extremely helpful and much appreciated
Excellent video, HW! You can really learn a lot observing the changes made on-the-fly and their impact. Loved it!

Great video! The Kemper community is really missing videos like this one. What about making one about adding pedals to a profile? Cheers
pepeflores2003 thanks dude! I like that idea a lot! More Kemper stuff on the way.

My favorites were the addition of the “Metal Zone” and the technical term “gain blip!!”
Amazing video.....I think you just solved and irradicated the very few issues i was having ....particularly in the live application ...Thank You

Awesome post.. very helpful.. changes my perspective on how to dial in Kemper profiles
Brilliantly explained and so helpful , thanks !
Thanks for a really clear and concise tutorial, found it pretty helpful.
Very intuitive video. I'm looking forward to checking out those Benson profiles.

That's high praise brother! Thanks!
Super helpful thanks so much 😃
Hey this was great info, thanks! Well edited video too.
I don't have a Kemper , but i enjoyed this video ; good info here
Could you do a video on the input levels? That is supposed to also be part of the puzzle to get guitars to sound proper with the profiles.
That's great content for a good Kemper video! You should not be afraid tweaking, it's a learning experience :)

Yes, I saw your video about it :)
I'm trying to get a Custom 24 next year. Mine need to be light :)

Hi , great job! Could you please specify which kind of cabinet are you using? Thanks
A Pedal can be Profiled? Like, a Vintage Fuzz or Mu-tron?
How do you suggest the church sound engineer to EQ your kemper in "front of house" . Should they completely turn off the EQ section?

@@EmmanuelGonzalez-pw5eu I own one now. I love it!

Are you recording direct to interface?
Why are your headstocks not the stock shape?
P.S. love what you guys do :-)
you just saved me $260 buying a Boss EQ200. Or? is it better to add the pedal EQ? im an addict with pedals

So i bought a used one , when i hold down the amp button those options are not available.
The Riff Bandit Hey dude! There are a couple pages of option in the amp section. Press the page button to scroll thru, these should be in there.
@@ToneJunkieTV is it a feature they added with an update...i literally just bought it used and it might not be up to date.
@@ToneJunkieTV never mind... im retarded, found it
Do you record straight in or mic it up?
Hi , with which cab use you the kemper classic??
Emanuele Ercole hi there! I’m using the Friedman asm12.
thanks a lot, your videos are very interesting
had no idea there was a page 2...🤨
people actually call you HW?
They do!
It's pronounced "Ki" not "Chu-eye". "Ki"-mera.
