    want to thank you for doing this video. i thought I had my kemper profiles dialed in to perfection with Eq's, cab/mics, etc. These small changes you recommended pushed it to tone-bliss. I go a bit higher on clarity across the board. like 2-3.0, but that's just my taste. I never messed with pure cab or direct mix until now...thank you!

      Totally agree. When I tried these suggestions, it took this "white noise" for lack of a better term out of my sound that I didn't even realize was there.

    The manual reads like the "Direct Mix" is a copy of the "Clean version of the amp/profile"... that's blended in. "Direct" would be that old direct into the mixer sound, yea? Maybe it should be called "Clean Mix"? Doesn't sound like it actually is a direct sound?

    One other tip for others (as it sounds like you might have it covered) is to turn off the global pure cab. I know that can impact it.

    I know this guy from pressure washing forums over 10 years ago! LoL! Jared was a real honest guy that wasn’t afraid to tell the truth about when the economy was turning south, that it was affecting his business. While everyone else was blowing smoke up my ass and making me feel all alone, Jared was totally honest. Great to see you on UA-cam Jared! Personally I can’t get into all this Kemper digital stuff, I can see it probably makes gigging 2000x easier and the audience doesn’t give a real fuck about difference in tone. One thing I noticed in high gain amps the tone difference between preamp tubes between different manufacturers gets lost, so it’s only important to find tubes that aren’t microphonic and a low noise floor. I bet the kemper does a great job as well with high gain stuff

    It's amazing how much it changes the feel when you play as well as the overall sound. Do you turn of the Pure Cab thing at the Main Output too, or just the one at the cab??? :)

    This is good, but it would have been helpful to A-B them in a mix. In a solo environment, your edit definitely sounded much better than the default settings. However, you may find that it takes up too much sonic space in a mix with drums and bass. (Maybe not, but that's why its good to compare with a mix.)

    Nice! I don’t play prog metal style guitar like you, but that profile (with your adjustments) definitely sounds like something a real EVH 5150III could do (in other words, it does sound like an actual 5150 III).

    It does make a difference, but hearing it on youtube with a tablet, it just sounds like the mids have been scooped.
    Which is a good thing to me.

    Wish I had seen this before last night to have tried it. Bass and top end but sod all else. Boosted mids and made it worse.

    Still no editor!!! What a joke! Kemper not only sounds out dated but looks out dated and using it feels cheap and out dated. Axe fx 3 is simply a more realistic sounding, authentic and easier to use. Even the helix in the right hands is better than the kemper now.

    • @TONEWARSgearshow
      @TONEWARSgearshow  6 років тому +1

      Honestly, I see no real reason for an editor. I can easily do everything on the unit itself. Besides, I hate having to hook up to a computer to tweak settings.
      Yes, the Kemper is fugly lol. It sounds legit though. It's better sounding than the helix. Inhave both products and prefer the Kemper

      @@TONEWARSgearshow For me personally and my workflow, if I'm gonna decide to sacrifice real sound of analogue for a digital imitation I want all the bells a whistles of what makes digital convenient. That means an editor.
