want to thank you for doing this video. i thought I had my kemper profiles dialed in to perfection with Eq's, cab/mics, etc. These small changes you recommended pushed it to tone-bliss. I go a bit higher on clarity across the board. like 2-3.0, but that's just my taste. I never messed with pure cab or direct mix until now...thank you!
Totally agree. When I tried these suggestions, it took this "white noise" for lack of a better term out of my sound that I didn't even realize was there.
How are setting up the clean sence and distortion, are you not getting red light in your input section, is your guitar signal not clipping? I guess you have high output pickups? Can you help coz i have mine red light on almost every profile I'm not sure have i did something wrong 😀
This is how I learned to make my profiles sound way better! Do you know of any good heavy jp2c profiles? I have yet to find any I'm satisfied with.. I have good ones of 5150 and archon and Mesa mark v.
The manual reads like the "Direct Mix" is a copy of the "Clean version of the amp/profile"... that's blended in. "Direct" would be that old direct into the mixer sound, yea? Maybe it should be called "Clean Mix"? Doesn't sound like it actually is a direct sound?
I always took that setting as dry tone, it really is an amazing little setting rather than tracking everything and doing it all over again in a clean tone. Then figuring out volumes.
One other tip for others (as it sounds like you might have it covered) is to turn off the global pure cab. I know that can impact it. I've really only messed with Definition, but this has tempted me try the Clarity and Direct Mix knobs on some difficult profiles I have. Thanks for the video!
I do enjoy it for headphones or just jamming by myself, but I have not used it to record anything. Even then, I usually keep it turned from 0.1 to maybe about 3.5 for jamming by myself.
Thanks for the tips. They really made a huge difference for me. I like your approach of adding fullness to distract from the harshness at the top. Thanks again [Subscribed].

For $2,000 should not need tips. Lol Should sound great out of the box
Still no editor!!! What a joke! Kemper not only sounds out dated but looks out dated and using it feels cheap and out dated. Axe fx 3 is simply a more realistic sounding, authentic and easier to use. Even the helix in the right hands is better than the kemper now.
Honestly, I see no real reason for an editor. I can easily do everything on the unit itself. Besides, I hate having to hook up to a computer to tweak settings.
Yes, the Kemper is fugly lol. It sounds legit though. It's better sounding than the helix. Inhave both products and prefer the Kemper
@@TONEWARSgearshow For me personally and my workflow, if I'm gonna decide to sacrifice real sound of analogue for a digital imitation I want all the bells a whistles of what makes digital convenient. That means an editor.
Now you get one....
