This is my version of the avengers assembling 🎉🎉
Accurate
😂😂
Couldn’t have said it better myself
I cheer when I saw this pop up on my recommended videos…#biblenerd
So accurate. 😂😂
I Love in-depth bible study. Gems indeed. Good questions and great answers. Thank you for your work. And sharing your lives. You are gift to the body of Christ! PTL!
Two of my favorite people to listen to on theology. 🎉
I’M SO EXCITED! LOVE TIM
I resonated with the example of the Bible's literary character being similar to how a couple tells "their story". Further, depending on which one (me or my wife) tells the story, certain details will be more or less in focus, yet neither of us cries "foul" on the other since we were both "eyewitnesses" to the key events of our life together.
Amazing! I love the jazz theme development analogy. You can’t read the Bible for years without knowing that to be true!
Wow Tim.. the very best human!❤
Two of my absolute faves!!! Heck yeah
I always think the same , like how good were these authors to
Put this together so amazingly perfect, then I always say, the Holy Spirit was the author through them and that always helps me ❤
Amen!
WOW! What a phenomenal Episode. I was completely unfamiliar with the work of Dr. Tim Mackie before, but I absolutely must check out his own podcast now, I could listen to him talk about these connections Chapter by chapter through the entire bible and not get bored!
Bible project podcast is a great resource. Its approach makes you think and reread your bible. 😊-
A unified story that leads people to Jesus.
Oh, excellent!
Ancient writers wrote with an aesthetic similar to how architects designed buildings. E.g. Consider the Parthenon’s artistic sophistication.
Absolutely fascinating! Thank you.
Thank you!
21:20 is really insightful
Tim Mackie's approach to Gen 2-3 is desperately needed in evangelical churches today, where "young earth" ideas continue to mislead young people, and create cognitive and spiritual dissonance for them that decreases their trust in Scripture.
“So what?” Great question and I honestly don’t think it was answered very persuasively. This kind of discussion can come off as very exciting to Bible nerds who love the original languages, but not seem very relevant to the average Xian’s faith, love, and service. It also makes one feel as if reading these texts in English isn’t very useful for ascertaining their ‘true’ meaning.
👋
Jesus and the NT writers seem to read Genesis, including the early chapters, pretty straightforwardly as the account of real people and events, no?
