MY BAD you guys, I mis spoke about the rate of pay at Amazon. I wasn’t getting 860 every two weeks I was getting that every week but only paid by weekly with about 1600 take home after taxes.
Some words of advice Ty I’ve been driving since August and my trainer told me this during training. Instead of pulling both brakes put your thumb on the trailer brake and pull the tractor brake with your other fingers, doing this will only engage the tractor brake and not the trailer brake so you can continue to build air to the trailer.
@@Retro-Nate97 I’ve only driven local but I can tell you I make more then most Otr drivers I’ve met since driving. But Tanker division pays the most overall imo
Idk maybe you misspoke or something but that ain't adding up. 25/hr x 40= $1000/wk or $2000 every two weeks. $860 every two weeks?!?! What kind of taxes that got out there! Never the less glad you making more!
My bad I definitely got the math wrong smh I was thinking about when I was in school how they paid me. The math you did was more accurate. After taxes I was only bringing in 1660 every two weeks vs now I’m bringing almost that amount in on a weekly basis.
Steps my boy you gotta crawl before you walk here’s a little secret I know your boss personally and maybe you don’t know it but at one time that company had 100 trailers and 50 trucks and used to haul double bottoms up and down the ny thruway with 2 loads of beer from Syracuse and glass bottles to Budweiser in Merrimack nh and Syracuse you stay where you are and Joe will take good care of you and so will Jodie
I appreciate that, so far I have no intention on leaving, they are good people and it’s a good company. I’ve been treated well. Thank you for the words of encouragement
Agree with Jack I use to work there just at the end I had bad understanding with Joe so decided to move on but definitely one of my last good co workers there was Gio which not sure if he still there or not. Overall Joe is a understanding man always willing to work things out.
Amazon ( i wont buy from them or support them ) has very good equipment ... but its outside carriers ( not company drivers ) ... well , i dont have to tell you im sure you see them . Up here (eh ) very bad drivers racing around , paid by the mile ... again the outside carriers . those hub to hub runs are gravy , especially if they are drop n rock . Always be looking for something better . Cryogenic Gases etc .. pays very well , you are young and companies will train you for specialty driving ... fuel pays well up here , but i mean fueling fleets etc ... driving jobs that are not transport will pay better due to overtime ... we dont get OT but fuel fillers do .
@@NatoWarPigs Yeah the equipment was good at Amazon and I was through a third party so that could definitely play a role in the rate of pay I was getting, it was fun & easy but I had to move on. I’m definitely looking at tanker companies I prefer fuel but I’ll do gases & dry bulk too I just want to experience tank driving that was my goal in getting my CDL.

Appreciate that, I’ll be trying that moving forward
When im at deliveries or pick ups i always ask other drivers how their job is .... working is the best way to find a better job .
@@NatoWarPigs Yup, I find myself asking too lol always looking for something better
Relocating is how you get the good jobs to make the money you want. Jobs hire without experience is just depend on which location
That’s a true statement

@ I’ll agree he’s an understanding man, I started off rocky so I have my perspective as well. But Gio is a good dude and he still works here
