- I've been holding onto these clips for years, and now I finally think I can make a video with them. This time, we're taking a look at some of the strangest videos to ever come out of Microsoft.

Microsoft got a labeled as not cool by those stupid Mac ads. But back in the day Microsoft really was hip. :)
Apple fans are the most cultish hardware/software enthusiasts ever.
I'm not the biggest MS fan these days, but back in the 90's they they really where at least trying to be hip, and I won't even get into most Apple fans who act like no matter what they do it's the best thing since invention of the GUI.

Ah yes, the office 2010 movie trailer. I saw it multiple times on some old office blog, and had been wondering what it was ever since.

The only Microsoft ad that I remember is the commercial for Windows 1.0, with Ballmer speaking and shouting like a maniac, and ends with that "except in nebraska"

Don't forget Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer paroding the volkswagen "da da da" ad and "Night at the Roxbury" clips, the japansese commercial of a governor screaming "WINDOWS!" at a dinner, Windows 98 tour with Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry, and even Apple with the "Computer Man" parody of John Scatman's "I'm the scatman"
Don't forget Bill promoting Windows 95 gaming with Doom, or the time he did a Coke commercial going around asking if anyone had some change because was working late, and forgot his wallet, or the one he did called Bill Gates last day at Microsoft where he still drove a shitbox of a car into work.

Not a commercial, but "Bill Gates' last day at Microsoft" is also pretty funny.
That one was good, and don't forget the Coke ad Bill did where he was working late, forgot his wallet, and was looking for anyone with some spare change for the Coke machine as that one was good as well. Funny thing is in reality is they did not even have Coke machines in the MS buildings at the time, just cases, and cases of free Coke products for the employees in the break rooms.
I feel personally attacked every time a Microsoft commercial refers to Clippit as Clippy.

I remember an infamous Microsoft tv ad with the copy «thank god, it's Monday», or words to that effect. It showed people who couldn't wait to get back to their offices on Monday. It was hilarious and caused quite the consumer outrage. But I can't seem to find anything about it...
There is a Windows video that starred Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston during the heyday of Friends, which is absolutely bizarre as well.

Perhaps Windows 2/286 'commercial' was for internal entertainment at MS, whereas the MS-DOS 5 one was a genuine ad.

That one is just about the most well known, and having seen Ballme on stage over the years the dude is just insane in general.
