Oh my GOD Katya talking about how she wants preserve her hobby and not monetize it despite how Trixie thinks she should turn it into a side work project, because it would make her miserable and kill the passion she has for it, is exactly what I’ve been trying to articulate to both myself and my parents about my art. God, like I always find her relatable but some things she says go past relatability and just straight up show me a new way to view my life. I’ve been so stuck lately because I just can’t figure out what it is I want to do or what I can do, cause I know I have passions but I always run into a brick wall when trying to take those passions and turn them into monetary gain. And I’m lucky I was raised with the mindset of “find work you’re passionate about and you’ll never work a day in your life” but at the same time now it just feels like I’m wasting my time unless I’m putting it into something that will make me money. I just wanna find something that I enjoy enough to not want to kill myself doing it but that I’m detached enough from that I don’t mind doing the work for someone else and not for me. Something I’m okay with “having” to do. Once again I just gotta say thank you to katya for her infinite wisdom 😭😭 I feel like I’ve grown so much as a person since I discovered both of them.
It's all about enjoying a job, even if you wouldn't do it as a passtime. Enjoying being a social worker, or helping people financially struggling, or taking care of kids, etc. Just something you can find value and fulfillment in besides the money. If you make your hobby into a job, then you have no escape or entertainment from your job, and responsibilities. Something to take note of as well is that if you enjoy the creativity that comes with art, you'll get more inspiration the more experiences you have. It's something you might miss out on if you're doing art for a job, and also as a hobby.

I like the episodes without guests but the ones with guests have been great too! Some of my favorite episodes have been with guests, like the Jeff and Monet ones. All the interviews with other drag race queens were really fun, especially when they brought on their season 7 sisters. I also enjoyed it when they had on their friends who work in different industries, from makeup to music to photography. Those were all excellent. What I’m saying is we don’t all hate guests! I think a balance is nice.
