    Hi Mark. Just watched your whole build again, as I'm just about to start my DT-03. In fact, after watching all your vids I've built a TT02 Type S Rally Car, and am part way through the Konghead. Got a Lunchbox to do after that, then the DT-03. Thanks for your great content. Love all your videos.
    Neil

      Hiya Neil! Really glad you found the vids useful, it's good to know. How did you get on with the TT02 Type-S - does it run off road very well? I'm really pleased with mine. Wow, Lunchbox AND a DT-03, you will be busy - sounds like you got the Tamiya bug BAD like me!!! Thanks for the great comment my friend :))

      @@MarkBryanRC Yep sure have. Been into Tamiya on and off since my folks bought me a Boomerang in 1988 (wish i still had it). I've not painted the TT-02 body yet as I'm waiting for a friend to get his TT02 Quattro built to run together. Hopefully get it all painted next week. Then just need to find somewhere good to take 'em. We're not too far from you I don't think. 12 miles from Stourbridge :o)

      Het Neil! Wow, we are pretty close, I am in Oldbury! Maybe we can meet up one day and do a video! Love the Boomerang, just missed out on the re-re! You are always welcome to run on our little makeshift track in the Smethwick park! :))

    That decal looks a lot better with you cutting the black out and having the body color show through. And with the decals on that green really stands out

      Thanks very much, Brian! I did prefer the look with the black panels removed, too. It covered up too much of that lovely green backing colour! Thanks for the comment bud! :-)

    👍 Nice! that carbon fiber shock mount is thick and looks nice!! With those day glow colors you are supposed to back them up with a bright white and it makes them get much brighter maybe next time try it out see how it goes. Looks great can't wait to see it ripping around!!

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  5 років тому +2

      Thanks Steve! Yeah, that front shock tower is NEVER gonna break, really strong and well made. Hmmm, I did think about backing the green with white - I may have to follow the tip on your last video and brush-paint some white over the top and see how it looks. Thanks buddy! :)

    Thank you for all 3 videos! I was actually hoping you would show the tire/glue process. Do you have an earlier build showing this? I'm sitting here with all these expensive RTR's, but I'm thinking about when I was a kid and wanting a Falcon. Or Hornet. I'll check out the rest of your channel. Thanks again!!

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  3 роки тому

      You are very welcome, my friend! Ahh - I try to avoid gluing the tyres at all costs! If you CA glue them on, they are almost impossible to remove without destroying the wheels. The tyres fit so well on the DT03 that they don't need glue - even with my 13.5T motor the tyres stay on!
      All the best from Mark... :O)

    After.the green shell colour, finish off with white or bright yellow. It should brighten it up.
    Lovely job, but with a brushless motor all that lovely rear tyre grip will wear down in minutes! I had that problem with my Hornet years ago with just the silver can motor.

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  5 років тому

      Cheers, Alan! I have tried, but it didn't make a real difference! Never mind, maybe I layed the green down too thick, or it was darker than it was supposed to be. Hehe, yeah, it's gonna be fun wearing those spikes down! But I tend to run on soft terrain, so hopefully these will rip the grass up instead - the Tamiya square spiked tyres are pretty tough mate! Thanks for the great comment my friend! :)

    Great video, Mark! I watched the whole thing and now that I watched this video, I wish I found it when I was building it, because you give some great tips, especially with the stickers - peel back a little backing - paste that part on - remove the rest 😉😉. My car has some bubbles from the stickers because I did the complete opposite of what you said. 🤣😂 I was actually putting it together mid August last year - I just decided to go on my own. I may switch the shock mount to carbon fiber, as well as make the adjustable suspension arms. Cheers!

      Thanks a bunch, Max! Glad to be able to offer a few tips - that's the great thing about this hobby, sharing our ideas! The carbon shock tower is very strong and looks cool too, and the buggy does turn better with a little negative camber, so I can recommend the top arm mod too. All the best, cheers! :)

    I noticed in the run video you've just uploaded that you managed to fit a driver. That's when I realised I must have missed one of these build videos. What an easy way to do it. I've been trying to fit one with the arms, steering wheel and base. I have one of these drivers somewhere and can use that. Thanks mate. My RF will have a driver at last.

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  5 років тому +1

      Hi mate! Yes I remember you asking about fitting a driver - I had a good look and realised there was no way to fit a proper cockpit, it's just too cramped in there! But then I found that little chappie in my spare parts box, and thought he would love a new home in the cockpit! As you said before, the driver just completes the look through the clear windows, even if his arms are stunted!!! Cheers matey! :-)

    Mark, I am almost done with assembling the kit and also halfway through the painting process. Now I need to make a hole on the side of the body part so the anttenna can protrude out of the body part. What will be the best way to drill the hole? I don't have a electrical drill so I am thinking of using the round-shaped washer in the kit as aid and use modeling knife to cut the hole. Or maybe use the tip of red-hot file to burn through the plastic? What will be your suggestion? Thank you for this great video. The way you apply the masking sticker is very helpful!!!

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  2 роки тому

      Hello, Jye and thank you for your comment. Hmm, for the hole with no drill available, if you have a pointed hobby knife, try using the tip of the knife to slightly pierce the body and then slowly rotate the knife to create the hole. Once it is big enough you can then use your round file to make the hole the correct size. Good luck!

    Hey Mark. Excellent video as per usual. Ugh...waiting for hop-up bits to come in the mail is testing my patience. Now I have an MF-01X AND a Racing Fighter to build! What is your opinion on shimming - specifically arms and wheel axles? I've read about two sides - for racing yes, bashing no. For indoor, clean driving yes, off-road in the dirt no. I'm thinking I'll pass on shims.

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Scotty and thanks again for the kind words. I hate waiting for the mail to come, so frustrating! I hope your parts comes soon. As for shimming I have used shims on some of my wheel axles and suspension arms, but to be honest I don't think it really makes that much difference. Easier to be lazy and not bother at all! Take care and all the best from Mark 👍

      Mark Bryan RC nice one and cheers for the reply. Can I ask you where you get your tamiya bit and bobs from? I can only seem to find the anti wear grease and instant cement over seas. Is there anything else you would recommend? I’m on the club tamiya forum but no luck as it’s a word wide forum.

      @MarkBryanRC  5 років тому

      Hi Sean! Nice to meet you, it's good to have a name to reply to! Hmmm, I am guessing you are in the UK too? If so, Tony's Tamiya Parts is my first go-to, and Time Tunnel models, both offer superb service. On the grease front, I tend to pack everything to the top with automotive molybdenum grease! About £6 for 500ml! (Halfords) If you want the anti wear stuff, and I agree it is good, Tony or Time Tunnel may have it, they can usually order stuff in if they don't stock it. What instant cement do you need - for ABS plastic? Most dealers that sell Airfix or Tamiya models stock this stuff. No probs mate - ask away any more questions, I will get back to you when I can! :)

      Mark Bryan RC Yeah in the uk too. Cool and thanks for the info. I have the Carbon hop up bits for the dt-03 shock towers so just need to seal them. I used Tony’s as well so will have another nosey there. My next run out with car will be this weekend👍🏻 how you finding the chassis?

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  5 років тому +1

      Nice one Sean! I used superglue gel to seal my carbon fibre shock tower - works a treat! I think when Tamiya refers to "instant cement" it means CA or superglue! Good luck with the run, I have found mine to be fantastic fun, apart from the rear shock springs that are far too soft (changed them for some longer, firmer springs from my spares box) - first run video of my antics with it coming soon! :)

      Hello Jye. A good step up from this would be a 4WD buggy like the TT-02B, Neo Scorcher or Plasma Edge. Still quite easy to assemble. This has been a very enjoyable build to follow. From its wacky chassis design onwards it´s been every inch a Tamiya all the way through.
    I wonder how it would come out if you´d pre-painted those two difficult to spray dips on the wing with a brush.
    I thought you used just the right number of stickers and I liked the way you cut out a panel each side to let the body colour show.
    Lastly, congratulations on your decision to equip the buggy with a driver figure - I look forward to glimpsing him at the wheel during the promised run vid : )

      Hiya Del - thanks for another great comment mate! Yeah, you read my mind - I looked at those awkward bits and thought of brushing them - never mind, maybe next time. Looks Ok though! If my model isn't an iconic replica, like some of the rally cars that need to be box art, I usually like to put my spin on the bodywork, as you may haver noticed! Sometimes it works, sometimes not so, but I think it's good to be a little creative now and then. Well, there were clear windows, so the driver was a must! All the best my friend! :)

    Hi Mark. Nice vid mate. Good idea to upgrade the shock tower. I think I told you before that I used the GPM alu ones front and rear on the Aqroshot. Also great idea to attach that battery holder pin with a wire. Top body painting tips. I only tend to leave about 30 mins between coats but lots of very light coats. Great to have the driver in there like a good old Tamiya buggy. Anyway, looks really cool in the green. Top work. I'm sure you'll have plenty of fun with it :-) How far into the holidays is it now ? I've lost track !

      @MarkBryanRC  5 років тому +1

      Thanks for the great advice, I just replied to another comment with this:
      I think it is the paint that wasn't correctly matched to the cap! After all the comments about this, I just painted (backed) half of the body, and asked my wife to tell me which was the brightest - she couldn't tell which side was backed!!! Neither could I - so I think it is a flat green, rather than a real fluo!!!

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  5 років тому +1

      PS I used titanium white! :))

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC 5 років тому +1

      @@MarkBryanRC Oh yeah sorry to repeat the comments! I mainly do it to make it opaque so that even with a strong light behind it I can't see through the body. I normally go with the colour then silver then black if it's a car where you can see in through the windows. Also a bit of smoke paint after taking off the window masks if there is no interior but on this one you obviously want to see your expertly painted driver!

      No worries Pete my mate! Yeah, I see that makes a lot of sense, but tight-arse old me tends to try and spend as little as possible!!! For a proper finish, your advice sounds the best! :)

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Ian - no, my experience is that the shocks do drop lower. Are there longer shock bottoms that you can fit to make the shocks longer? I think mine came with 2 different lengths. Other than that, see if you can source some bottom connectors that will help! :)

      Hi there! Glad you found the videos useful.
      I just checked the Carson website for details of your Pro3. It sats the following in technical data:
      • servo reverse for both channels (reversal of the running direction)
      So there must be a way of switching the throttle to reverse mode, it must be in the manual somewhere. Oh, I looked and it is under "REV" in the LCD menu. Good luck! :-)

      Hi Andrew from Melbourne! Thanks, I like the green finish, too. Oh - yeah the idea that non-Tamiya motors won't work on the TBLE is a myth started by Tamiya to get you to buy their expensive motors! I have used several brands, and all work fine. Just don't go below 13.5 T and you'll be fine. My motor is an unbranded, 13.5T Chinese blue can, they are all over eBay. It runs great, good speed and long battery life, even comes with a sensor cable. Your Neo sounds nice, that metallic green is wicked! Cheers from Birmingham, UK! :-)
