You know you shouldn't do it, but sometimes there's nothing more satisfying than being able to say 'told you so'. Lexus finds itself in exactly that position with its range of high-end hybrid vehicles. Initially derided by rival manufacturers as Heath Robinson workarounds brought about by the fact that Lexus didn't have a big diesel engine at its disposal, companies like Mercedes, BMW, Porsche and Audi are now all adopting petrol/electric hybrid technology on their cars - and not just at the affordable end of the range. There's one car that's been using this technology for quite some time and fully deserves the crown as king of the hybrids, and it's the Lexus LS600h. Here's what to look for when shopping for a used example

Thanks!
Wow really nice review and this car is still amazing today. Very good professional review. These cars are bargains for what your getting today. And they are reliable cars
More reliable than many new cars
❤️Lexus 👍🏽
Great review but I was under the impression that the 600h used a CVT rather than the 8 speed ?
Cvt f for the 600h & 600hL. 8 speed for gas model only.
Its not a cvt, its an e-cvt, with planetary gears. It has nothing to do with a cvt mechanically speaking.
@@cptn777 an eCVT is still a CVT. It's just specifically geared by using a small electric motor on a planetary gear set instead of a pair of pulleys.
Traditional CVTs get a bad rep as they aren't very robust but the eCVT variant is fantastic.
how much is the hybrid battery life? and price?
No idea, but it's irrelevant as they don't appear to fail.
When I was researching buying the RX400H a While ago there were no reported battery failures.
I’ve read of one owner replacing theirs at 125,000 miles and he was able to replace it for US$3k. Mine is at 150k and still great battery health.
@@richardschofield2201they do fall, I've owned one of these at 160k miles. It was £4k for a replacement from Lexus however they are much cheaper at a specialist. Usually a few cells that have degraded.
I really don't need to watch any other review of this car.
