I have been a fan since 1956 when I was 12 and saw him on Sullivan, my parents thought I should not be watching him. Now 80 I still love Elvis. He was my childhood. He was a fashion Icon, A music innovator and a kind and generous humanitarian. He helped Eradicate polio in the 50's. Watch, "Elvis Presley King of Kindness". He loved his fans, and has sold more recording than any single artist in History. He is known in every country in the world. He sang everything from gospel to opera. Over 700 songs in his lifetime. Thanks Be Blessed

Thanks for explaining about Polk salad. Written by Tony Joe White. His version is different. Well, you could imagine. A song that is very popular with reviewers is IF I CAN DREAN By Elvis 1968 live. Do get the live version. A complete different Elvis here. Thank You.
Poke Sallet is the way the plant is spelled & yes, poisonous it is from the Pokeweed plant. "Hut 2 3 4 " was Elvis' fun way of referencing his days in the Army ('58-'60). My story began w-Elvis at his beginning in '54 when I was 11. At that time we had 45" records, the radio where you could call in to make requests, & the small b&w TV. TV was the only way we saw him. He began on The Dorsey Bros. show called "Stage Show" - went on to the Milton Berle show & then lastly to Ed Sullivan -- Ed Sullivan originally turned him down because of his moving. When my mother saw him for the 1st time she said "he's going to be very big one day." Interestingly, no one in my family saw anything wrong or sexual about his movements, & all I saw was a guy who was moving to the feel of the music. And I was never one of those screaming, jumping up & down kids -- I was a quiet observer -- very curious about everything he did & I wanted to listen to his voice, not yell over it. I subbed & will be looking out for more of The Man.

Elvis and his drummer, Ronnie Tutt, were “duelling” to see who could go the fastest.
