Actually, Elvis did not know the words to Hey Jude in his studio jam so he just sang the same bits over and over. So, definitely not a full version of the song by any stretch.

Elvis did other people's originals better than the originals! There is a longer version of Elvis doing "Hey Jude" where Elvis really shoots the Judy's like no body's business! Thanks John!

Elvis did not know how to read music never wrote a song taught himself to play guitar and piano he had God given talent and truly loved his fans just before he sang just pretend he stopped the show to speak to a girl in the front row who painted his portrait and I read he kept a lot of those gifts he was very spiritual and read a lot about religion. He never forgot his early life and the financial struggles. He was very special the world lost him too soon
I’m at odds with the other people who commented that they like Elvis doing these Beatles songs. I believe Elvis should have stayed far away from all 3 Beatles songs he did. There is something in the structure of the songs that just don’t fit Elvis comfortably. They seem rushed and don’t flow the way you expect from an Elvis performance. In almost all cases where Elvis covered a song, he OWNED that song. But not so with Yesterday, Something or Hey Jude. Having said that I would have loved to hear Elvis sing Paul McCartney’s Michelle!
Tho i love Elvis, its a NO from me. He took cool songs from the Beatles and made the sound like the musically dead genre that is known as easy listening! Way too naff for Elvis or the Beatles May as well listen to Daniel oDonnell
