    Excellent review! As a self proclaimed CZ fanboy, I have owned and carried both of these firearms. The CZ P01 is my favorite by far, and is my current carry gun.

    Had a P01 Cajunized. Sold it to buy a HK P30s. Great gun for what it is, but it was no CZ. CZ Shot flatter, better trigger, felt more ballanced and less chunky even though they are about the same weight. Got a chance to trade it for a CZ P01 Omega, and I have no regrets in going back. I think this will be a forever gun. Now to cajunize it again.

    I really like the P07 and if I hadn’t wound up with an FNX9 I likely would have acquired one. It has a very good safety/decocker that is easier for me to reach than the CZ safety. The P07 is pretty good value. If I were in the market for a new CZ for carry though I would get a CZ75 compact. I prefer the trimmer rail free dust cover. One in 40 might make me “in the market” 😉

    Having owned both, I found the trigger on the P-01 to be much better than the P-07. The P-07 has a mushier trigger, but it is a better combat trigger than any of my HKs. And P-01 mags function properly in the P-07. The reason for the change in mags was for increase in capacity while maintaining a flush fit. The first gen P-07s came with 16rd flush fit mags, but they were unreliable, so they brought it down to 15rd. I know the newer CZ75 compacts ship with the 15rd MecGar mags, rather than the standard 14rd compact mags.

      Does your P-01 have the Omega trigger? I would have thought they were the same in both pistols.

    • @DarkPhoenixTSi
      @DarkPhoenixTSi 2 роки тому

      @@fin_jan No, my P-01 was the standard decocker model. My P-02 was a first gen Omega, but the trigger was not a mushy as my P-07s were. It is likely the polymer vs aluminum frame that sets them apart in trigger feel.

      @@ventilator2999 As with the P-01 mags, they will run, but the I wouldn't use them for anything more than range time. Since they are skinnier than the P-07 mags, they can just drop out of the grip because they have less contact with the mag release.

    After years of not making any handgun purchases I decided to pick up two last year. As it’s an infrequent occurrence for me I really do my research, look at everything and take a lot of time before laying down the $$. I ended up getting the P01 Omega and a P07. I had been carrying a Sig245 and a SA Campion Operator but these will be my daily carry guns going forward.

    The current production P07/09 mags and P10C/10F mags are now compatible. Sound decision to keep costs down on their polymer-framed line, plus most en masse buyers now prefer lighter pistols. I agree with the Toyota & Lexus analogy. Most of CZ's handguns have "NATO" service versions.
    In other countries the P07 is much more affordable (albeit practical) and available than the P01 with an alloy frame (steel frame, SA is much more common)
    I'd get the P01 Omega (alloy frame) first if I'd find one though.

    • @tinkertalksguns7289
      @tinkertalksguns7289  Рік тому

      It took several double-strikes yes. I was using reloaded ammo made with really a random assortment of ancient primers. Both functioned 100% with factory ammo, but I didn't have any for this video. It took several magazines to get through a single full magazine from the P-01 and by the time I shot the P-07 I only had one magazine left so I just had to go with the video with the misfires for that gun. Nowadays prices for reloading supplies have gotten nuts enough that for me handloading 9mm no longer makes sense, so future videos will be factory ammo whenever possible.
