One of the greatest bands ever, I don't think I'm exaggerating. Their music is complex and layered, but catchy, groovy and poignant. Top notch musicians, can't wait to see them live.
Their live performances really seal the deal on the sentiment. True artistry on demand
You will love them live they are my all time favorite and since I found them I have seen them 5 times and I haven't missed any shows when they play in my area of the world it will be a cold day in hell that I'll ever not go and see them when they come!!
Your totally not over exaggerating, my favourite band ever !!!
You ain't exaggerating.
You said it brother!
This is definitely not my 28th time in a row listening to this song
Omg, you too,??
Same bro. Just gets better every listen.

Stop, STOP!
You'll kill it.
I can't hardly stand listening to War Pigs, and that's way more awesome than this.
Those are rookie numbers, you have to pump these numbers up
Congratulations to the entire QOTSA crew! We've missed you, and we wish you well!
I hope Josh is doing well and has sorted out all his personal issues.
GLORY TO ROME!!

I think it’s all good now
I like the way they making a video like Boilermaker.

I love the visuals to the music, so many cool references to Greek mythology: Minotaur, Medusa, Apollo. This band is not only incredibly talented, they are smart. Probably why they're my favourite ❤
in times new ROMAN haha they hit the visuals on the money
I was enjoying that as well
i noticed medusa and the minotaur, but which character is referencing apollo? :0
I love the Devo-ish dancers...
@@foileditswell romans copied the Greeks soooo
In 25 years you boys have never disappointed. Tight as ever. Production on point. This is the best true rock band we've had over the last 25 years.
Nicely put , aj
Couldn't agree more
They are special in ways other really good acts can't even get near , its hard to nail it down, always mixing up genres in the best way.
There's always so much anticipation for new qotsa stuff bcos we all know it'll be worth the wait.
LMAO bud, KYUSS>>>all. Most people got into Homme via the Bizarre 95 set, and everyone tubed out after the desert sesh with PJ. Homme after 2004 has been irrelevant & worthless, no one cares. KYUSS is immortal, QOTSA is good but a tepid pop program by comparison

@@marcbasil You don't know what you're talking about
Ugh, I say this every time…”I’m only going to listen once or twice because I don’t want it to get old before the album comes out”
But it’s SOOO good! I can’t help myself
I bought Era Vulgaris the day it cam out. I was at the door of the record store at opening time, with one single purpose. I was blazed. I got my copy and went straight home and put it on and got blazed some more. I quite literally listened to nothing else for the next 4-6 months. I just couldn't get enough of it. I still love it to bits, but then Like Clockwork came out, and eclipsed it, and then Villains topped even that, and now here we are, a new album about to whip the shit out of all of them. Best band ever.
This was my thought upon first listen. But then I kept hitting that pesky back button on my app and wouldn’t you know? The song kept playing over and over. And I kept listening.
I'm playing this on a loop. I'm obsessed. Qotsa manages to make music like candy, i just keep binging on it till i'm sick.

Yes! Exactly! It's got that 1974-1980-2023 sound. Does that make sense?😂❤ I have listened to it probably 10 times now. I can't wait for the album to drop!.🎉

I don't like the production values, it sounds far more studio and compressed then it should to my ear. They were called Queens Of The Stone age by somebody because they had very used and old equipment and a raw sound -this does not sound "live" enough for me.
I bet this song will rock live with actual real sounding drum and base and the energy they always bring to a live show but this sounds like it was recorded in a vacuum. I'd love it if they could get away from Mark Ronson production values and maybe work with Rick Ruben to help get them back to the stoner rock or invent a fresh new hybrid. I can't wait to see them do this live to see if it validates my opinion.
@@1ManNamedDan …what in gods name are you even talking about 😳🤦🏻LOL. Wow. This is pathetic. CHRIS *FREAKING* GOSS used to call K Y U S S the “queens of the Stone Age” in the studio, because although they were heavy as a brick, they still had a soft & mellow side. Seriously, who does not know that? Where do some of you plebs come up with this nonsense…? 😳😳😳🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
Also, you can be honest & come right out & say it: it sounds horrible. Homme is irrelevant & has been since 2004. 1992-2004 Homme is a GOAT, especially in KYUSS. After Oliveri split in 2004, Homme is nothing, not a factor. The last good thing he recorded was that Desert Sesh with PJ. Duh.
Also, LOL @ Rick Rubin, a hahahaha

That chorus is straight out of the 70's! GROOOVY ❤
Yes! Exactly what I thought.
Yeah...I am reminded of Styx "Lady", the end chorus "Ladeh..in the morning...sun shines, in your eyes..." he really captures the right notes here on every level...
No, it doesn't sound like the 70s at all.
Possibly the best chorus of your career full of fantastic choruses. Unbelievable.
Yeah, this chorus is monumental. And they fade out with it like they know it too! Epic
Now that I have listened to it for five hours on repeat at work it reminds me of Them Crooked Vultures a lot. If this is anything to go by this may be the most monumental album of their career. It puts me in a good mood instantly and I have high hopes for this one. Who still buys their physical cds? I collect them.
I said "I hear a lot of Vultures in this" to my wife. I think we're in for a... well, another amazing album by Josh and Co.
I'm an old fart (43) and always buy the CD or vinyl. Nothing beats having the physical CD/record/tape in your hand, discoving the amazing art and little tidbits in the cover...and looking at the shelves full of music! Plus it sounds way better than music thats been downloaded! Peace and Love from Australia
@@natashaszydlak4411 I'm about a month behind ya at 42. Since Clockwork I've bought every special edition Vinyl even though I've been fighting my old Technics turntable (I've got a channel out and I've traced the entire board from cart to output, without victory) so I haven't dropped a needle on one yet, but gotdamnit, once I figure it out (I won't be buying a new turntable, this is personal) I will ONLY listen to them on Vinyl. Well, not enough to wear em down, but when I need to feel it in my bones.
Ordered the vinyl for the new record. First ever vinyl (except for a limited edition How to Handle a Rope from years back)… don’t even have anything to play it on, so it’ll probably go up on the wall for a bit 😅
Could really use some more Vultures sound so I'm hoping there's more to come. Made to Parade and What the Peephole Say are both titles with TCV lyrics so I'm especially hopeful for those two
I don't think I can possibly explain the impact qotsa has had on my life. it has pulled me back up from the lowest point in my life. thanks for saving me and being there for me when no one else was at that point.

I stumbled across this Gem (never heard them before)! I knew Josh's Grandpa, Cap, and I know he'd be proud of him. I could see a note to Josh in that amazing handwriting of his telling him to stay strong. I am a rock-n-roller of the 60s and 70s, and, I find this style incredible. Congratulations for great music and the art in the video is fantastic, too.
Since it came out a few weeks ago, I can't get this song out of my head. I was a bit lukewarm at first, but the chorus just infected my brain.
Every part of this music video is so hypnotic: the dancers and their choreography, the machete-wielding person, the Mighty Mouse mask-wearing hooligans...everything.
The chorus is infectious no lie
That chorus has popped into my head randomly at least once or twice a day since this song released

its gonna be a good 2023 after all
Main riff has a bit of an Era Vulgaris feel to me. But damn, Homme can still write an absolutely killer chorus.
I swear I thought this was a cover of some 70s song that I had heard before. Unbelievable chorus. I had to look up the writing credits to believe this was an original song. They captured the classic rock sound very well with this one! Excellent!
Hint of EODM in this one, love it!
Why does it sound so energetic yet nostalgic?
He definitely has the early Bowie vocal style. This is really well performed and produced. A wall of rock sound.
Homme is a genius. Seriously.
correct
Genuinely think this is one of their best songs. Josh Hommes song/riff writing is unlike anyone else. I always feel like he's trying to punch me through the speakers and I love it!
Oh man have you listened to the one they just put out today? It's awesome every song they put out is awesome
I also enjoy being assaulted by Homme in the audio sense.
Sounds like it has some shades of Them Crooked Vultures, I like it!
Got addicted to this chorus 🖤
Same for me 😎
That chorus is bliss.
dude, mikey on the bass is just so good
One of the Greatest songs on the Album.
The drums are amazing! Especially the the bell on the ride cymbal during the chorus 😮 Soo clean
Love the juxtaposition between the two-faced actor carrying what looks like Medusa's head at 3:30 , perhaps what the perspective of the divorce means for Josh, and the hooded actor carrying what looks like a bison's head at 3:28 , perhaps the perspective from Josh's ex. Surely it seems that both sides look happy with the decision to split given the former walking along a beach at sunset/rise and the latter dancing around. The mono/bitonality of the latter's scene's colors sticks out to me compared to the imagery of the former's scene's colors though. I wonder if this also speaks to how Josh thinks his ex sees things in "black" and "white" or two-colors and that, to him, he sees in full/all colors, meaning that the split for him was more "right" or meaningful compared to what his ex saw. I'm sure we all can relate to this in our lives when coming out of a breakup. How we may feel like we're in the right for doing so. The juxtaposition here shows though, I think, that there's similarities to draw in both people's thoughts and feelings at the end of a relationship, and that, even if to the other person the relationship might not seem so important, the end of it might still impact them in it's own way. There's always room to be considerate for others like this, in a relationship and out of one. But a split is sometimes needed to do better in life, and we can see this at the end 4:25 of the song with how the mice are leading the charge in a parade, symbolizing triumph.
What do the mice symbolize though I wonder? They show up in both sides of the story in the video.
The kids?
@@elprez8375 From what I've read online, it doesn't seem like Josh had kids, but maybe you're right
5/18/23 Edit: no, apparently the divorce involved a pretty heated custody battle, so the mice probably represent the kids
It helps to have seen the movie Clash of the Titans or know Greek Mythology to understand this video. Josh and Brody have 3 kids (3 mice?). The female character with the ponytails and red hood is The Executioner representing justice? An attorney? A judge? It triggered Josh to "brake his fever", maybe meaning he held his tongue for so long not wanting to unleash his genius mind thru vengeance or show any of his anger issues to the courts. But his fever broke.....and court ruled that he was not a wife beater and he was a good father and they were granted joint custody and he was finally allowed to be with his kids unsupervised again. And lies were reveled and truths came to light. But it was a hard battle that the whole family and all their friends of mice and elephants survived! Either that or the executioner represents Sophia Possidon! (Low Desert Sound).
Awesome, I dig your interpretations. The vid gives impressions of coming to terms with regret, and owning said conviction. The world around may seem like chaos, but it's all perspective. Accept what you are and live your truths. Can't save anyone unless you save yourself first. Rock on! ✌️&💚💛❤️&🤘
@@bonmorris2007the "then my fever broke" is a not to Villains' "The Way You Used To Do", that was pretty much about him and Brody saying "Is love mental disease or lucky fever dream?"
