It will be four grand mark my words... No way they are selling eight analog moog voices for less then $3500.. they would cement them as not a boutique company anymore and that is what they need most right now.
Great show! Cheers for the shout out!!
Moog Mirror sliders? Wouldn’t it be great if Moog resurrected the resonator section from the original Moog poly synths?
Access Virus TI physical production has been discontinued - long may musical production continue with it! A right editing pita sometimes, despite all the buttons/ knobs, but mostly a totally awesome beast of a synth - particularly with the Aura editor (the drivers of re-enable audio over USB ❤). I am glad I got mine when I did.
Great show as always fellow synth nerds, thanks!
They need the mirror to compete with the hydra” price wise “ especially “ since it’s being done in China and if they can bring a synth like hydra deluxe for two grand and some change this better not exceed that price too! This high end price thing is unrealistic for 75% of us and not appropriate anymore ! I hope the new Moog folks get that . 🤔👽✌️
Surely a mirror would be used to compete with a gorgon?
@@ak99uk or perhaps the cloak of invisibility! 🤔👽✌️
Why there some developers still not supporting AS and releasing apps that are reliant on Rosetta…?!
Xhun apps
CTM Festival looks really interesting. It's good to see a long standing event pushing more experimental art explorations. A lot of things have become stagnant with the push for everything to be "content" slotted into algorithms. It makes me value things like CTM more as the years go on.
The MPC Keys 37 does look like the perfect tool in many ways. That red though! I just don't want to be staring at that horrible colour for hours on end.
I'm with Rich on my personal experience with the Moog One. I think it's fantastic. My understanding is that there was a bunch of early teething problems. I just wish it wasn't so expensive.
Great to see @synthsamuraiproductions on your show! He always has an informative and entertaining take on the cutting edge news.
1:19:25 … “I was at home, fiddling with my doo-daa” … missed episode title opportunity …
nah
Loved the final topic 👍👏
When I was super broke in the 90's I picked up a Powercore PCI card from Leos Pro Audio in Oakland (RIP).
Got a great deal on it, one of the guys at Leo's flowed me some discs with a few extra plugins. So I was kind of set up.
It's laughable by todays standards. But this was in the days when most computers were single core. Still I had 8 plugins and one virtual instrument that had almost no impact on CPU headroom.
I really liked the SH101 emulation, but it was the reverb and the Tubefx plugs I loved.
The reverb sounded way more expensive than my Quadraverb. I'd end up bringing it a couple times to get all the different kinds of verb I liked.
But also to free up the processor for other effects. Tubefx was the best tube emulation I've ever used. So much control. So much chaos.
Pretty much eliminates the need to have extravagant dynamics and eq when you are distorting everything into place.
Later moved on to UAD-2 when Powercore was EOLed.
Though I just looked it up and I guess they kept licensing servers online until 2017.
Oh well, UAD has been great.
I'm definitely looking forward to the Moog Patriarch.
Probably a few more months, going by release patterns.
Funny you should mention it - in an ex-country of ours (Yugoslavia, with the mentioned Zadar) there was a law demanding every public building to have some part of the funding dedicated to arts that were then commisioned for that building or its surroundings.
That was way back in socialism :)
It's worse now as far as arts funding goes.
Mirrored to your PC. It's a DSP synth with an overbridge type plugin.
Because: The trademark application is primarily about software.
Workstations and samplers...it all comes down to outputs and effects if you want to produce professional results on hardware. If the effects are bad or non-existent, then we need six outputs in stereo or mono combination. If the effects are professional, then the single stereo output is fine, or a USB audio to computer. Otherwise, it is a toy, or tracks need transferred to a DAW to finish professionally.
I love the story about busking, Lynden. I am a competent saxophonist, jazz and easy listening is my style. I’m looking to play sax in public again but I feel I’m too much of a perfectionist. I have all the gear. Speakers, Sax, mixer repertoire. But I feel lack confidence when playing more serious songs, however, I do jam with DJ’s but this is improvising only to house music, it would be nice to hear your views on making the transition

I love Virus, I much prefer it to Nords or Japanese VAs.
Name refers to Mirroring of previously released Moog
Just loaded up the Virus emulator. I installed it months ago, but hadn't gotten back to it. I had it playing 8 synth channels in multi and only using 3-4% CPU on my M2 MacBook. Incredible performance. I've been meaning to try sequencing the plugin from my Octatrack.
Had to watch five commercials to skip to Moog Mirror?!
Dante isn't just for Stadiums but schools, churches, sports bars, eventually intercoms, officices, and you name it. I predict the cost will come down. That is the way of the free market.
MPC 37 doesn’t tickle my fancy I’m afraid
Hi Nick, The Yamaha Dante card costs 500 USD so I don’t know where you got your figures from. Literally thousands of products on the market use it.
i own evey MPC they have made since 2019 and the touch screen is grest. workflow beats anything else and they have the best sequencer on the planet
sequencer ?
yeah , right after Cirklon 😊
Robin you are wrong about the MPCs sir
(AKAI MPC Keys 37) No XLR/fantompower is a big let down in my eyes regarding making it a replacement for an audio interface, keyboard and daw in a box. Also the colour. Great form factor, but price wise, some resellers has lowered the price of the 61 key version, WITH XLR/48V, expandable SSD and more RAM.
My heart bleeds for the Virus, but I guess it's time was up some time ago. Maybe not for the synth itself, but for the company. Their focus is just simply somewhere else.
I got the impression that it was about to die out when there was no support forthcoming for Apple silicon. It's a sad factor when a synth has an software editor that makes it easier to manage, that support for the software can end up fairly important.
@@robgrainger5314The Aura editor works wonders on the Mac. The drivers re-enable Audio over USB too
Not even, Kemper needs a facelift…
Another great episode tx
Glad you enjoyed it
I had a virus ti 88 hated it way to complicated for me
The moog mirror looks like a Jupiter to me
I've been told Nord means red in Japanese 🤯
Same with voyager when it came out, everyone just moaned and slagged it off
Glad you are tip top. Only way to be, ripped to the ti75!
The Kemper is still using the Motorola chip and not a Sharc. and that's been the main reason why the actual Kemper hasn't been updated with a real Mkii since the beginning donkeys years ago now.. It must be a real compromise to port that original code to new chips? Certainly there must be something to do with loosing the magical tone it delivers like the legendary Access Virus..
Im always complaining about everything but I really like 37 key format. It just works better for me.
Saw that Paulee has an Amiga on the rack. :)
Fully get the autism focus tunnel.
... it's got sliders on it ...
8 voices at $2500 , they'll sell it
The DSP56300 Emulator will keep the Virus alive.. maybe now that the company is abandoning it, the emulator developers will have more leeway with any licensing conundrums.
SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ?!?! What's the point ? Ill just buy another Hydra.
Cbf’d with hardware synths any more. Phase plant, Pigments and Vital sorted all that out.
Agree with Paulie
