    Good job, but you should always use hand tools when removing and installing spark plugs, especially on a vehicle with an aluminum cylinder head like the malibu. Two reasons, the spark plug is made of steel and can easily get cross threaded in the head, stripping the threads, requiring an expensive repair. It's also easy to damage the ceramic part of the plug, causing it to fail. You should also use anti-seize on the plugs before installing them. Especially on aluminum heads. Keep learning! You'll save a lot of money doing this yourself.

      No problem, I always hated it when someone corrected something I was doing without explaining why. Too many people just want to belittle a man for doing something wrong instead of taking the opportunity to pass on knowledge. I always try to look up instructions before working on an unfamiliar vehicle just to be sure, which is how I found your video.

    You should check the spark plug gaps. For a 1.5 turbo the specified gap is .60-.70mm (.025-.028in). Never use power tools to remove or install spark plugs.

    Great job but there’s also a special socket built for removing and installing spark plug so you don’t have to use the pliers to pull them out

    • @Too.Two22
      @Too.Two22  2 роки тому

      If you’ve went all 85,000 miles without changing them, I’d recommend changing them ASAP, I’d honestly change them even after doing like 30k miles just to keep everything constantly running smooth

  • @dough278

    When do you recommend changing the spark plugs ?I brought my 2017 mailbu with 29,000 back in June of 2020 now it’s has 76,000 as of June 2022.

    Great video carnal. Question, i have the same car you have 2017 and it's at 59.9K miles, do you think i should do a full tune up?

  • @escothecommish
    @escothecommish 2 роки тому

    So how many miles did you go before you changed you plugs? Have you service any of the fluids yet? Do you get any slushing noise in the dash area when it goes to auto stop? Lastly do you have water leak in the center high mount stop lamp area in the back after you wash your car? Let me know, I have same vehicle.

    • @Too.Two22
      @Too.Two22  2 роки тому +3

      I don’t remember exactly how many miles I had from the time of this video, maybe around like 50k. I do all the fluid changes myself, so I do them pretty often (more then recommended). The slushing sound from driving with the start-stop on is caused by the coolant being low and/or the coolant being below the fill line. Lastly, no, I don’t get any leaks.

      Only an “idiot” doesn’t know how to use their power tools correctly, they have different settings for a reason, obviously don’t have it on a setting that will harm any parts within the engine bay.
