One historical fact about this etude. In 1837 Charles Valentin Alkan wrote Trois Morceaux dans le genre Páthetique op. 15 and dedicated them to Liszt. Liszt thanked them enthusiastically and warmly, but it is evident that Liszt was interested in Op. 15 No. 2 "Le vent" where Alkan uses the chromatic rise and fall of the notes in the scale and imitates the sounds of the wind in all different ways. The constant rise and fall of thirty-two sixths sounds almost impressionistic, which is why this opus is very controversial for critics (It was at the time when Alkan compared his style, moreover, few people could play with such beauty as Alkan in his time). But the important thing. Liszt was so impressed by this that in this etude (snow-whirls) he tried to imitate the same thing, the sounds of the wind in a winter landscape, and he succeeded quite well. Alkan must have played this etude with a smile when he saw it. By the way, Liszt used the same technique in his Ballade No. 2.

But what astounds me is you have some very serious players who all give the most wonderful tributes to your talent . We are all mystified by the relatively :"small" numbers of subscribers .
