I love the review but I've noticed everyone is constantly comparing it to custom blasters (which are always powered by 3s lipos) Can we not just take a step back and appreciate the fact that this is made by an actual manufacturer, an injection molded, off the counter, ready to go fly wheel blaster pulling shots at 150fps give or take on AA batteries.
And then there's the fact you can put a Lipo in this with no mods required. Super nice for even people who want better performance without permanently messing with the blaster

The rubberized buttstock pad and grip are a great touch! I just rubberized the grips and buttstock of my Nexus and it's seriously my favorite blaster now. Also, Dart Zone is EVERYTHING Nerf isn't. They've actually paid attention to the customers and reviews of their products and built upon them. Lovely.
Great video. I think modders are gonna mod no matter how good a blaster is out of the box and at the end of the day that thing is still wicked sweet. Keep up the great work.
adding barbs on the back of a magazine will allow the round go forward but not backwards as easily, this can be added to the molding on any new magazine and people can do it.
Hopefully all it will take to fix both feed issues is a redesign of the pusher. I don’t care about long darts for this blaster either, but all my short dart mags are talons, so that’s a problem. It’s gonna be a wait and see situation till this gets fixed. Thank you for the detailed review. Edit: and already we have a non-destructive solution. I love this community.

Just as I thought, you are better off with a heavily modded rapidstrike. Short darts and adaptors for flywheels often cause feed/compatibility issues from my experience so I think they did well to get this to work to some degree in my opinion.
This blaster definitely seems geared more towards people like myself that are new to the hobby, and want a blaster that at least seems pretty easy (compared to other blasters I’ve seen) to customise or mod out of the box and starts with a reasonably higher velocity compared to regular nerf blaster
What sort of fire rate does this thing’s full auto pull on 2s? Personally, I rly like the rof on 3s but I want to use this in hvz, so a 2s will be necessary to tune down the power a bit
We didn't test ROF on 2S at the time, but I imagine it would be 1-2 darts per second without any modifications to the gears or motors (assuming ⅔ of 3S ROF performance).
Nerf: no! Our blasters are perfect! You are not allowed to modify them, they are perfect as is! Dart Zone: yeah so we took your advice and integrated all these features, and if it's not quite your style we also added features to make it very easy to make our blaster more your speed!
For those wondering about the feed issue, the lovely ladies at Foamblast already solved it with some simple internal shell cutting. Still an unfortunate oversight.
At this point, the only mod I'd find myself doing is the cuts to the pusher gray cage to make it take Talons, and a flywheel swap. Beyond that, the blaster's FPS and even rate of fire is fine for me, since 3DPS is good for a "cruise control" use compared to flat out being a dart hose like my Auto Stryfe and Rapidstrike are
I know the hobby standard is to use 3S LiPos but is there a reason you couldn’t put a 4S LiPo in this? Just wondering if there is a way to increase the half length FPS.
You could technically put a 4s LiPo in this, but with the PTC in, it wouldn't give you better performance. And if you remove the PTC, you're pretty much asking to burn out the motors (which are probably only rated for 3s levels of voltages).
So which lipos will work? I’m thinking about making the jump to lipos for this one. I just wanna make sure I can get one that will definitely work in the MK3, maybe the spectrum, and some other stuff. Thanks
The 3 that fit without an extended battery door are linked in the description, though you could fit most 3S batteries with the extended battery door (also available with the link in the description).
Not working with Talon Mags is pretty bad, somewhat of a nerf... I will wait before buying this to make sure it works reliably with the talons since I have so many
No worries, as simply making cuts on the lips of the pusher cage will remove the plastic that squeezes Talons and thus results in the unreliability. It'll then be able to use all half lengths without a hitch!

The problems with Talon mags is not the shape of the too of the mag, not the blaster, it's the spring tension which is higher than in any other mag in the market!
the long darts auto thing is not a bug, is a feature! hyper burst on nerf! actually, this is not a joke? imagine if by the way it fails, they modified it a little so always in auto it shots 2 times, that would increase the rpm, and come out, blaster hyper burst, that would be crazy and very cool
Hej here comes a theory on how to fix the issue (talon); I believe the chamfer on the pusher is the problem. It allows the dart to travel too far up when the pusher is retracting. So far in fact that it (the dart) clears the back wall of the mag while the pusher still has contact with it. The friction of the pusher then manages to pull the dart way back. You could try to reduce the chamfer by attaching a 3d printed wedge.
Does adding one of the mag extenders you sell help to lengthen the spring and thereby reduce the spring pressure and alleviate the problematic talon symptoms?
