Don't know why this song didn't chart higher than it did. Great hook, great shuffle groove. Still gets stuck in my head from time to time. RIP, Dan. Gone way too soon. Thanks for posting!
Dan Hartman could play just about any instrument you put in front of him. Additionally, he brilliantly could write music, lyrics, sing AND play! His music spanned the 60's (as a teen with Edgar Winter), the 70's, the 80's and even some music released posthumously in the 90's. Dan, I sure wish I'd known you. RIP.
If credits are correct i don't think he played any instrument on this song and he didn't write it himself. I Can Dream About You is the only song he wrote himself on the album.
yeah so true my friend each time i listen to Dan Songs i feel like dancing just like old days Donna my friend and I pray to God to give you a lot of beautiful days, and I hope God bless you to have a great day today, I'm Roy from happy camp California and you where are you from ?
Those were the 80ies, past forever, it never will be like that again, especially like in 1984, the greatest year in music history! This is a totally underrated gem of that year - why wasn't this #1? Probably for the simple fact that there was just way too much good music back then 😆😊😉
Great song! Miss the 80’s so much. Back then, a group of different race people could be on the streets together and have a damn good party. Today, they blame one another for their problems
amsedelm He did backup on "Rock N' Roll Hoochie Coo" the Rick Derringer song who was the lead singer in the group The McCoys and there hit and there hit song "Hang on Sloopy".
Yeah he was so wonderful singer and so good still listen to his song too my friend Dawn and I pray to God to give you a lot of beautiful days, and I hope God bless you to have a great day today, I'm Roy from happy camp California and you where are you from ?
On this day in 1985 {January 12th} Dan Hartman performed "Second Nature" on the ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'... Four weeks later "Second Nature" entered Billboard's Top 100 chart at position #80, seven weeks later it would peak at #39 {for 1 week}, and it spent twelve weeks on the Top 100... It reached #19 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Tracks chart... And on the same 'Bandstand' show he also performed "I Can Dream About You", five months earlier on August 12th, 1984 it peaked at #6 {for 2 weeks}, and it stayed on the Top 100 for almost a half-year {25 weeks}... The Pennsylvania native had five other Top 100 records, "Instant Replay" {#29 in 1978}, "This Is It" {#91 in 1979}, "It Hurts To Be In Love" {#72 in 1981}, "Heaven In Your Arms" {#86 in 1981}, and "We Are Young" {#25 in 1984}... Sadly, Dan Hartman passed away at the young age of 43 on March 22nd, 1994 {brain tumor}... May he R.I.P.
I haven't heard that song since the 80's, but for some reason it would stick in my head and I would think about it every once in awhile. Only having remembered the two words that is the title.
Long Live The 80s Where singers just got on with it no Crocodile tears like some of the Artists of today cancelling shows and Bubbling to their fans.. RIP Daniel I'm playing these Tracks 4 You. 😘
Back in the 70's Dan Hartman use to sing relight my fire with Loleatta Holloway. He sang instant replay back in 1978. He was very talented man. Unfortunately he left this world with his music with us all.
Amo éste tema Siempre creí que era Billy Joel el que lo cantaba Hoy después de más de 30 años lo vengo a encontrar 😍😍😍 Lo gracioso que es que también conozco a éste cantante
Yeah blue are always beautiful my friend Sharon and I pray to God to give you a lot of beautiful days, and I hope God bless you to have a great day today, I'm Roy from happy camp California and you where are you from ?
Great artist!. It's a shame he was taken so soon thanks to Steve Rubell. What he did was selfish and cruel! RIP Dan. I wish you were still around; you'd be about 63 now
Don't know why this song didn't chart higher than it did. Great hook, great shuffle groove. Still gets stuck in my head from time to time. RIP, Dan. Gone way too soon. Thanks for posting!

And he could also dance his ass. Off
If credits are correct i don't think he played any instrument on this song and he didn't write it himself. I Can Dream About You is the only song he wrote himself on the album.

Those were the 80ies, past forever, it never will be like that again, especially like in 1984, the greatest year in music history!
This is a totally underrated gem of that year - why wasn't this #1? Probably for the simple fact that there was just way too much good music back then 😆😊😉

It's hard to believe he played with Johnny and Edgar Winter, wrote "Free Ride" and co wrote, I think, "Frankenstein" for Edgar. Talented man. RIP.
