@@nadiaddis1145 Let me ask you a question: when COVID 19 first appeared at the end of 2019 were you wearing masks already or distancing yourself from others? No, because you did not expect such a virus to come out of the blue. Same with the HIV virus when it appeared in around 1980. He was exposed to the virus and his exposure led to AIDS (for some people it never progressed to that point). People now know that "viruses happen" and can take necessary precautions. I don't see your comment as "shaming" but I also sense that you were not there when this virus first appeared.
Dan Hartman. Started with the Edgar's Winter Group, Classic Rock, went solo straight to Disco, then pop music. Such a gifted and talented musican and person.
If you want to know what a hot dance club sounded like in the late '70s just play "Keep the Fire Burnin'". It's pure joy. The current dance music doesn't hold a candle to the incendiary soulfulness and fire of the old school records. The last dance music artist who offered anything original yet hot was Avicci as far as I'm concerned. Now we have DJs who just play what they personally like and it's mostly flat as a pancake on the dance floor.
I saw many shows from local affiliates during that time and they had no business being there. You have to remember, Dick graduated from Syracuse U in broadcast journalism and he worked in radio. He just didn't believe in videos.
A VERY talented, down to earth artist, who would have done so much more if AIDS had not taken him away from us. Another lgbtq+ member resting in power! Thank you for your wonderful music my brother!!
One of Dan Hartmann's hits, "I can dream about you" was written by Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates and as they had just finished an album and couldn't't fit it on they gave it to Dan Hartmann. Little bit of trivia.
Wrong. Dan Hartman wrote it and pitched it to his friends, Hall and Oats, but they had finished their album already. So he was approached by Jimmy Iodine to write a song for the movie Streets of Fire, and it was used there, as long as he got to sing it.

Very good interview with intelligible questions. Boy times have sunk.
I'm sorry Dan Hartman died so young. I wish he had lived a little longer.
Man and to think I was 18 years old in 1984. Miss the 80s big time
I'm so jealous at you. I was born May 28 1988. It'd be awesome to be able to remember when the gem-album I Can Dream About You came.

Poor Dan Hartman who died too young. Can't help but think he still had a few classic pop songs left to write 😞
Except he had unprotected anal sex and died from AIDS

I know Dan Hartman from Baggies rehearsal studio, NYC.
Can anyone explain Dan's sleeping mask? I see him with it in several appearances.
I think it’s meant to allude to sleeping, as he cannot wait to dream about his loved one? (I Can Dream About You)
