A match made in heaven especally 35x /135 that Perkins P3 parentage and of course Ford's blue Fergy (Dexta) being a cheap test bed for MF. The 23c was a much nicer engine to work all day,( nobody used ear defenders or even stuffed cotton wool in their ears ) way back when! proably because we all came from spark ignition engines. One more point the Dexta with it's low bonnet should have been even stronger competitor but in my mind the controls/ operator platform was not as well designed but it's still a Ferguson or maybe the 135 is an 8n.? Mouth wash required
Thank you for an interesting video. I was given a Ferguson subsoiled for my birthday some years ago. It doesn’t have the disc assembly but looking at your video the disc hardly scratches the ground . So I think it will be still useful even without the coulter disc.
Some good shots. I've probably said before- nice to see old school stuff working still. Is there an ideal position for the pitch on the tine/ leg, or the frame to run parallel with the ground on that implement? (for non agricultural viewers, I'm thinking about top link adjustment to make life a little easier pulling her)
Very nice, we’ve just bought a 3 leg Sward lifter for grass paddocks. I’m not entirely keen on the ridges it can leave as they seem like they could be a mess with mowing, but its all a bit of a trial.
That 35 just purrs Dan, excellent video there as ever. The benefits of a decent workout on any tractor shouldn't be underestimated, to that end it would be fantastic to see the 178 or 1200 working up a real sweat on the plough in that field, what are the chances?
The ground was obviously well compacted so the subsoiling was needed. Whaty about using the 178 / with it's 4WD it would have allowed you to go a bit deeper.
Dan-or anyone. How do you tell the difference between a 35 and 35x. I was always told the exhaust pipe was on the left on 35x, but you refer to it as a 35?
The exhaust moved to the left when they introduced Perkins engines in 1959. There is very little to visually tell the difference between a 35 and 35x engine, the dynamo bracket and tapped holes in the block behind the dynamo is about it.
Plug down to eighteen need eye bean two wheels leg ram do grass pull up hill four-wheel drive its only use it cow out early Close up feet Drop in grass grow quicker Not sitting in water white gold wash away Crawler better jop dig down with spade have look see plug hold frost on ground DEFRA pay you
Having used this implement 60 years ago on a M/F I would say the top link is too long ,also the tractor hydraulics are bouncing ,set on slow response and using the small levers to adjust the depth as in ploughing would make a better job,I enjoyed the video thanks, look forward to next one. (John)
Can't beat that sound of a perkins engine brings back alot of happy memories 👍
It's good to see the classic machinery still doing useful work. You don't need 300hp and autosteer for everything. Thanks for sharing.

always good to see the old kit at work

Nice to see the 35 out Dan, I thought she was pulling it really well and almost effortlessly 👍
Those twin spring subsoilers are quite rare and fetch top money with collectors.
Brilliant
Old tech one side of the hedge new tech the other
2wd handled well! Brilliant video 💪🏻 🏴
Great video dan, good to see the fergie out working.
Interesting and a valid comment re the differential lock which would have beneficial in this case.
Good video especially the different angles showing the MF 35 doing it's thing.🍺👍🏻

Always a winner seein the old kit out doin some worthwhile work 💪 the 35 probably only used a cupful o diesel into the bargain 👍👌
Great video again chief. Keep it up.
Great video!
Great to see the subsoiler in action, I really should get mine out and try it
Great video as always
Great video Dan,Massey Ferguson all the way
I’m now picturing the 1200 with a twin leg pan buster.👍👍
doing a great job
Good video Dan

nice to see this

Slim, already been ploughed 😆
Another great video Dan thanks for sharing. Will we be seeing anything of the Kidd forager this year?
Unlikely
The ground was obviously well compacted so the subsoiling was needed. Whaty about using the 178 / with it's 4WD it would have allowed you to go a bit deeper.
Would the 178 have pulled the subsoilere apart
The subsoiler was built for a Ferguson TE 20 so the 178 would be a bit much for it.
And the 178 is still in hibernation 😆
Great video Dan.
Nice to hear her purring along 🙂. Im Trying to get my self set for doing 16 acres of slitting on the TVO 🥶😩🤦♂️
You'll enjoy it 😁
@@CowfarmerDan FTS 🤣🤦♂️
Lovely to see the 35 at work .Are the solar panels on your farm ?
No, the neighbour.
Nice video Dan . am I right in thinking the Massey Ferguson 35x had different lock.
Differential lock was an option, but many 35x had it fitted.
A few late 35 have it too.
Good video Dan our 35 is the same as yours do you have a 4 cylinder one aswell 👍
Yes
What grazes the solar farm next to you? I am guessing it might be sheep as cows would be a bit rough round solar panels
Yes, sheep.
Not going very deep. Don't look like your doing g much of a job. What a waste of time.
Why is the engine sound not the sound of the engine under load ? .

@@CowfarmerDan thank you!
Are you're father and brother into the vintage tractors and machinery as much as yourself Dan?
Not quite as much.
it pays to givem a workout every now and then
Plug down to eighteen need eye bean two wheels leg ram do grass pull up hill four-wheel drive its only use it cow out early
Close up feet Drop in grass grow quicker
Not sitting in water white gold wash away
Crawler better jop dig down with spade have look see plug hold frost on ground
DEFRA pay you
Now tell the truth you're just out having fun today
Yes, just playing with toys 😊

agreed and i think a 165 would have done the job better
Waste of time sink it in and do some good
Nimp?!
