Watching the trade menu struggle for like a solid minute between every trade just brings back so many memories from before I upgraded my computer. It was not a fun time, so you have my sincerest condolences.
1 production is equivalent to 2 faith and 4 gold! Although you can get some very nice discounts with Malians, Theocracy, Ngazagarmu suzerainty, Grand Master's Chapel. You can buy infantry armies for 95 faith if you get rolling
It's because production is important - in every game EXCEPT this one. Think about it. ANYTHING pretty much I could build I can also buy. I'll have gold for days soon but what I'm struggling with is Heros and religion. Sometimes a bit less of something you really need is worth a lot more!
@@gamergary2148 I think us all voting for him to play a civilization that gets a trade route for every civ in the game is already plenty broken. I agree there’s need for new territories. Just very annoyed at the Spanish one city challenge
I would 100% be save scumming for Sinbad, getting Magnus in the city over promoting Pingala and buying builders for the chops! I think it's fine to play a bit fast and loose with Portugal's historical empire and settle more widely.
I also played this challenge and magnus isn’t as good as you think, you need to rush sailing for extra city combat strength (Ursa got extremely lucky that Spain didn’t declare war turn 6-7), and so it will be a solid 40-50 turns before you can even chop + being constantly assaulted by Spain doesnt give you time to get builders. Sinbad is good but not a great first because, again you need military to fend off Spain.
Absolutely amazing series. Btw am I the only one that find it oddly satisfying hearing you spell out all the patreons at the end of each episode? You are probably the only streamer I listen to the entire list.
I think Toledo would be allowable as a Portuguese city. They did own pretty much all of the south west coast, and Toledo is close enough I think it's fair. Spain could have expanded more northward, even if they couldn't have held loyalty that I don't think it's robbing them of territory that's definitely theirs.
@@MH-hu5pi if it was through war, I'd agree, but having to constantly flip it back and forth because of loyalty pressure just seems needlessly stringent. The challenge is already going to be hard enough with the massive head start most of the world is going to have, a third kind of crappy city isn't going to make a huge difference. It would help the loyalty in the African cities also, so I guess that's maybe a mark against keeping it, depending on how brutal you want to make this.
How do you manage to have so many players ? I have tried using ynamp, and every time, if I have more than 20 players the game fails to generate the map.
Why not send a trader or two from your African city to your bigger cities? Wouldn't that get you some loyalty pressure as well as some food and production?
Portugal is busted - free trade route for every civ you meet! In this game, that means up to 60 of them (in addition to trade routes from lighthouses). Portugal can only trade with coastal cities though.
I like the idea of TSL world but the limitation of historical accuracy is a bit pointless. You should be able to conquer what you want. At the same time the trading abuse is just cheating at this point. The more players there are in the game the easier it gets because there is more gold in the game that you can steal.
watching you chop braga's wheat instead of building a farm triangle has physically wounded me
Watch and learn, padawan.
Especially as he just brought a watermill in the city which would have given him more food to help with population/loyalty!
Except that he needed growth at that very moment, not good tiles for the future.
A farm triangle does nothing until feudalism in 100 turns. He needed to grow the city ASAP not worry about efficiency 100 turns down the line.
Down the line would be great, but chop makes for higher pop now and less chance of rebellion.
I only just realized that Portugal's ability can give up to 60 free trade routes for free. Absolutely busted
We voted for Jiao just to see this break the game....at least, I did.
Definitely feels like money cheat. I am completely fine with it, though. Its funny.
Bizantium is trying to get that weird warrior monk achievement on steam 😂
And we thought them mad...

I'm pretty sure a super computer would struggle with a large Civ 6 game...!
only second episode and i am already looking forward to each episode!
Yay, that's a great thing to read = )
NGL, I still have a red forehead from the facepalm I did when you picked faith over god of the sea
Ikr. Iirc 1 production is equivalent to 2/3 faith/gold, and this doesn't even take into consideration cards that give bonus production.

I think you should allow yourself to own the Iberian Peninsula
Yea Spain is very much not a factor this game either way
Portugal is just Drunk Spain, after all!
For the challenge aspect, I think he should keep them alive, but if they do declare war, Ursa should be allowed to take them out.
No that ruins it all.

I was SOOO tempted but went against it in the end. I like riding games to see what pops up and going with it!

Historically Portugal and England have never been at war, nor have they ever been on opposing sides of a war...Very rare in Europe lol.
I think it's often touted as the oldest alliance in UK history - not sure if that's true but certainly the UK has a very high opinion of Portugal

Mount Erebus is probably in the place of the Teide volcano, in the Canary Islands. The placement seems right to me.

I forgot that each Civ gets you a trade route capacity. It's just insane how much cash you'll earn.
You can even buy the University of Sankore!
I wish!
