Regarding doing it wrong, the driver was underage without a license. The front side was damaged from having run into a parked vehicle from an apparent joyride gone wrong. Good, it's not just me! Why is an American on TG UK in the first place? I've only gotten to watch one episode and every segment was a different person. Why the hell are there 6 people on the show? It should always have been Evans, Harris, Eddie Jordan (I guess) and MAYBE Sabine. LaBlanc should never have been cast.

Reasons TG is failing: Chris Evans is NOT Clarkson - he needed to stop pretending from Day 1. Two - Chris is a radio host, there's a reason that ugly mug is on radio. Three - The old TG format was built around Jezza, May and Hamster. It was like a custom built racing car cockpit after all those years of fine tuning. Put a different driver in a custom built cockpit and what happens? Accidents, that's what. It needed a new format for the new hosts. BBC is responsible in many ways for failing in this aspect.

I am a long time viewer of the sho(a few years now) and watch the show religiously (except for the mini video series, didn't care for those much). Not trying to throw shade but the new AM RB 001 should have defiantly been mentioned in todays news! This is one incredible car that is blowing up social media and not a word about it on FLD!? Instead I can relive the Panamera story from 4 days ago. Chris Evans had to step down. He was so poor at hosting. Too much shouting and cheering in attempts to liven up the audience. Rory Reid, Matt LeBlanc and of course Chris Harris have been revelations in presenting and I hope stay on for more lead hosting. I would also like to see the star car thing dropped and the race against other vehicles in dodgy cars dropped. It's not required for humour. The characters themselves should be funny enough. I want to see more originality. To completely abandon the old Top Gear format. I want to see more promotion of all forms of motorsport. Get the drivers and cars of race teams to demonstrate their cars performance and their skill. I want to see car news return, maybe showing funny videos ala "Doing it Wrong". I would love to see a guest episode of Derek D doing a major car show. I love those FLD episodes. In fact Top Gear should be more global. Show some American cars only available in America. That Doing It Wrong had to be the aftermath of a hit-and-run. The individual continued to operate the vehicle after it was obviously disabled. The individual is desperately trying to ensure no one can locate the vehicle from the roadway, hence storing it in a garage. Hit-and-run.

I think Chris Evans really was not the best for top gear his shouting was annoying. Chris Evans just tried way too hard to be funny and tried even harder to get audience reactions during studio parts. the old guys, and even Matt Leblanc were more just being themselves and the laughs and audience reactions just came naturally. I will say the films of the show (minis the ones with Chris evans) were stellar this season, some of the best to date.
Chris was doing an awful Clarkson imitation, maybe it would have worked if he had an original persona that people could relate to. Clarkson was like watching the 10 year old in me talk about cars!

Chris Evans had to step down. He was so poor at hosting. Too much shouting and cheering in attempts to liven up the audience.
Rory Reid, Matt LeBlanc and of course Chris Harris have been revelations in presenting and I hope stay on for more lead hosting.
I would also like to see the star car thing dropped and the race against other vehicles in dodgy cars dropped. It's not required for humour. The characters themselves should be funny enough.
I want to see more originality. To completely abandon the old Top Gear format. I want to see more promotion of all forms of motorsport. Get the drivers and cars of race teams to demonstrate their cars performance and their skill.
I want to see car news return, maybe showing funny videos ala "Doing it Wrong". I would love to see a guest episode of Derek D doing a major car show. I love those FLD episodes.
In fact Top Gear should be more global. Show some American cars only available in America. Some Japanese cars only available in Japan. I may not be able to buy them but it'd be great to hear about them. No need for Top Gear USA or Top Gear Asia.
Wow I didn't even realize Top Gear ended already, I only watched the first one. I liked LeBlanc, I think it has a much much better chance of succeeding without Evans that's for sure.
Your videos only play at 480p while other channels play at the full 1080p resolution supported on my android box. It started happening a while back.
I think people were comparing him to the original and expected much better than them like I think that's a little bit to much pressure to be like someone and do it wayyy better. But oh well...
Chris evans has left thats good news because he could not handle 21st century supercars(can only handle classic ferraris) and his presenting was "cheezy"

lol that DIW guy is an unlicensed16 yr old from Vancouver, Canada. He drove his mom's cayenne while she was away without permission, hit and run a parked car, and attempted to hide it in the garage. Google it
#fldqofthed the whole new top gear thing is a ratings grab, in the bbc knew the had an audience but the old ballcocks messed it up by throwing POP stars at the show. They need to experiment as painful as it may be. And the guy that quit was like the UK's version of Ryan Seacrest!

I mean, thinking about it .. James was Jeremy's replacement and Jeremy was Tiff's. Then Jeremy and Richard were for James, then James added on later and then magic! So I guess the magic is from being in then out .. then in then out, then finally in again.
That Doing It Wrong had to be the aftermath of a hit-and-run. The individual continued to operate the vehicle after it was obviously disabled. The individual is desperately trying to ensure no one can locate the vehicle from the roadway, hence storing it in a garage. Hit-and-run.

In my opinion Chris Evans was not suited for the role of Top Gear presenter. His voice is a bit annoying and he constantly interruption his co-hosts. I quite honestly don't think he even entertaining. But that's just my opinion. Perhaps in time he would of found a way to be his genuine self without the issues that everyone had with him. However BBC could not wait that long on a gamble. I hope he has an opportunity in the near future that better suits him.
Chris Evan and Top Gear simply didn't fit well together. This reminds me of the previous incarnation where they had Jason Dawe which they replaced with James May in the second series. I just hope it gets better from here on.

I think Chris Evans really was not the best for top gear his shouting was annoying. The stories that went with cars were terrible his opinions were terrible and he didn't really force the producers and other presenters to push forward. Everything he presented on this season pretty much had already been done or said somewhere else. Case and point the jaguar e type classic car... Thanks for ruining my memory of one of the best car reviews Jeremy Clarkson did Chris Evans....
Like everyone else, I'm so happy that he quit, but it's pretty pathetic to quit after 6 episodes or how many it was, and then say you gave it your best shot. If that's his best, well, then I'm just glad he isn't in a position of power.
hay, Derrick, you know the last set of presenters for top gear weren't the first. Hamster, capt. Slow , and the Old angry hungry brit are actually the second set of hosts.
I don't know if someone said it already but the Cayenne vid is from Vancouver BC. It's a 16 year old unlicensed driver trying to escape into the garage after a hit and run...that is the damage on the passenger side.

Chris Evans just tried way too hard to be funny and tried even harder to get audience reactions during studio parts. the old guys, and even Matt Leblanc were more just being themselves and the laughs and audience reactions just came naturally. I will say the films of the show (minis the ones with Chris evans) were stellar this season, some of the best to date.
Chris was doing an awful Clarkson imitation, maybe it would have worked if he had an original persona that people could relate to. Clarkson was like watching the 10 year old in me talk about cars!

Chris Evans is as funny as watching lead paint dry. Matt is annoying, the only anchor worth putting up with in that whole show is Mr. Harris. I was literally excited episode one too, not anymore.
Chris Evans didn't work for top gear because he doesn't enjoy and understand cars, he's not an enthusiast. He spends money on expensive cars to show people how rich he is, not because they're interesting to him.

maybe if Chris Evans would had been more humble at first , maybe tweet best of luck and some words to the trio, or maybe if the ppl creating the episodes would try to not mimic the old top gear instead try to find a better approach , maybe that would had worked out.
doez anyone still even know who Chris Evans really is in the USA at least or why he got the lead role in Top Gear the only thing I knew about him before Top Gear for the most part after talk to you is that he's rich and has a bunch of nice cars and he likes cars

the shenanigans of the original hosts not taking things serious made the show funny. They lost the "smiles per mile" factor we might as well be watching fifth gear. Yawn.
I like the new top gear, but Evans was a bit hard to take. Everyone else is okay, but although Eddie Jordan is cool, lose the spoons!
I blame the fact he crams his pants into his boots for him having to quit. At least Chris Harris finally gets his own show! yeyeyeye!
TG deserves to sink after dropping the three best host you'll ever find to do a car show. I already decided to abandon it from the start and can't wait for the real show to start on Amazon
