Yeah. I feel like everyone is trying to print this with TPU or something flexible, but it’s not meant to be flexible. Basketballs don’t squish like that.
That’s the problem with everyone printing these, they use TPU. What really makes something bounce is how hard and tough it is. TPU is tough, but not hard. That’s why a steel ball on a steel anvil bounces so well, because it doesn’t deform so all of that energy goes right back into the ball. Use something like Nylon for it to be tough and harder.
@@MegaMetal96 sounds to me like you’re over-confident in calling me wrong. Bounce a TPU ball on concrete, then bounce a hardened steel ball on concrete. See which one bounces higher.
@@dakonx7049imagine spending months or years to make a perfect airless basketball and you see a guy that just takes the template and make one in just few days Also does it weigh like a basketball?
I ALMOST printed it myself bro. That ain't gone bounce more than that. They use a resin mixed with a powder to make the original. I downloaded both files. It's free.but wherever Google's the recipe and has a big enough resin printer u can make a killing. They're over $2k right now
such impress, much wow,all incredible. seriously though people, that's why they cost so much, they aren't 3d printed in the way you think of it,it's not even using filament, it's a bin of synthetic dust and some funky lasers to put it bluntly, pcbway will print things for people using those machines, they basically melt bits of dust together into an eventual solid, they even do metal.
The issue is that the real ball actually has two layers that are ≤ 1cm apart and it has little supports that would be very difficult for a 3D printer to make.

Filament might be too soft, might need something more rigid but not stiff or brittle
I used some overture super PLA + for a 5.5 ball and works pretty well.
Comment tu t'appelles😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I’m not sure if there’s a filament that can replicate exactly. Maybe cast in silicone and use something more rigid and bouncy

It never even bounced in the original video
Sell it for 2.5k now
Nah less because if it’s not from Wilson then is not the same product it even has more sound than the original that ball is at least 900$
@@watchingentertainment7596 yeah i know just joking 😂
It doesn't bounce nearly as well. He had to bend and stay very close to the floor just to bounce it.
It's illegal
😂
Print with nylon. Then it will be less brittle and it will have a greater bounce
Is nylon really bouncy and will it work to make the airless basketball
Someone did nylon and it broke
I wonder if ASA would work
The ball😊

Exactly if you use TPU it doesn’t bounce at all it’s like the second it hits the floor it just stays there
It has nothing to do with those. It’s about the deformation of the material. You want more elastic than plastic, but still enough to keep its shape.
This ain’t nothing but overly-confident stupidity
Literally what he said haha@muffinconsumer4431

This is so satisfying! ❤❤❤
you can make a really bouncy 3d printed basketball using super PLA +, but you need to reduce the dimensions of the the ball or it will crack open
or coat it in 3D Goop
The printing is very exquisite, and you saved another basketball money
The best remake I’ve seen so far
It’s literally unusable lmao some of the pla ones actually bounced
"It's a basketball! I 3d printed it!"

lame and useless since it was already invented and works very well..

This video is pure gold.
“Bro just put some air in the ball it’s not that flat”
Great bounce to it!
Nice print, how long did it take to print?
Bounces just like a real ball
Very nice ❤❤
You can measure the pressure with this ball
Try a higher shore tpu, 98 should be good.
what setting do I need for the supports to look like that?
You ever find out? Mine is trying to make supports through the middle of the ball so I won’t be able to remove it after printing lmao
Thats so cool
Yo mate, try printing with either ptg or pla+ at 70% that soze
pensa quelli del piano di sotto come sono contenti 🔝❤️
And they giving it to us for 2.5k, bro just printed it at home.
It still don’t work like Wilson theirs actually bounce like the original basketball
@@LETTHETRUTHBETOLD229depends on the filament, i printed one that bounces almost like wilson’s

I still see air, try again
I think rubber and leather with some air in it would make this perfect 🧐
It’s better as a soccer ball for kids honestly
May I have the machine and material information? Thanks a lot!!
The fact we can do this casually for a tenth of the price when they sell it for like 3k~ is just casual capitalism.
Bro just saved 2grand💀
The fact that it would be pretty hard to tell if it was a real "airless basket" to any potential buyers. . . 💀
Bounce of the ball delivers that's fake
Maybe if you use spring-like inside the ball. They will be of use as intended
It looks kinda hard to bounce

JESUS AND GOD LOVES EVERYONE SO MUCH TURN TO THEM BEFORE ITS TO LATE
You forgot the crucial second layer that's the main reason for the bounce loss
Slam dunk with it
the fact that it cost wilson a few cents and very little time and effort to make and they're 2.5k for it is crazy.
You could start getting some money from that
It does have air it’s actually overflowing bc air goes through the holes
With that hard ass dribbling that definitely ain't the Wilson one lol
Doesn't have the inner layer like the new ball so this one doesn't have much spring and easily collapses
the real thing uses laser printing of some sort
Should have used better filament…I’m learning too
Where can I have the 3D file?
Thingerverse
Need to use the proper filament for it, it's not elastic enough
Hay thế nhỉ ❤
Now I can't unhear it 💀
What was the support setting because those supports peeled off real easy please let me know
Reminds me of a half deflated dollar store ball. 😂
Make a psp UMD tray for PlayStation disk
Super PLA + works/bounces quite well surprisingly if you want a working one
Is that pla or a special type of filament
Probably TPU because it’s flexible but if you make this on your own try Super PLA +
Which type of plastic is this?!?
What type of support is that?
You can 3d print a soft body?
What type of material did you use?
If u want to make it the exact same carterpcs made one that bounces and doesnt break
The filament to use is PEBA-S. It’s the perfect mix of bounce and rigidity.
Which 3d printer do you use?
what 3d printer was that on?
Sell it for my life savings (not hating just joke but rlly cool what filament?)
The printers used to make them are much more complex than yours.
Ngl you need to put some more air in it…
what 3d printer is that
J’étais déjà abonné avant la vidéo 😂
There three filaments that work: peba s is the best but is $120 for 1 kg and there’s dudv2 pla splat and wisdream
