Love that line “that’s how we die. Next to our brothers, with pile of brass”. So epic
discorperted I don’t need to. I know all about him already. I knew his story before the movie even
discorperted yeah, Wikipedia is totally far more reliable than someone who was literally present at the event in question...
@David Bury what exactly was contradicting? not discrediting you but just curious
In the last 20 years the Army Rangers have lead over 2000 direct action combat raids. That's more than all other Units combined.
Take a moment to credit the Afghan village who took good care of Marcus
Yeah exactly, not even a mention
rltw
@@Thisisahandle701 maybe because this is yhe perspective of the rangers, not Mr. Lutrell. If you want to look at Latrells perspective you well hear a shole lot about them
@DHIRAJ this video was credited to the rangers. If you weren't so dull you would look more into this story and see how they were given a lot of credit.
Marcus Luttrell, keeps us safe & I am grateful to anyone who has kept him safe!
Even SEALs need heroes.
@Kelly MD Royal World Health MD that sounds so stupid try being a woman and have zero combat skills first off u will have combat skills go into training or learn how to use a gun in the future.
lol - yeah they do -
They are called PJs
That's why rangers lead the way
Kelly MD Royal World Health MD if your a women with no combat experience why in gods name would you go into combat
Marcus Luttrell wasn't captured. He was retrieved by the Afghans who treated his wounds, clothed and sheltered him as their guest until rescue arrived.
Yes we know, this was from the rangers perspective, and on top of that the Afghans were given credit and Marcus bought the guy that helped him to America
While he was In the village the Taliban came in and held him for a few days until the villagers managed to hide him till he was rescued
8:49 he wasnt captured, the afgan village were enemies of the taliban, thats why they helped Marcus Luttrell and even protected him, when the taliban came to their village to get him!
Their explaining, that at the time, they didn't know that
It's more of a tradition in Pashtun culture. It's not about hating the Taliban. It was just the way their village was, they help strangers who need help. " With the aid of some brave villagers Marcus is able to survive due to their 'Pashtun' way of life and their cultureof the 'Pashtunwali Code',
meaning that hospitality, asylum, mercy and shelter must be provided
for all who require it, despite their background and intentions. "
Joe Felix thank god someone actually listens.
Every afghani or anyone who's home is being invaded hates the invaders
I know pashtun culture and ghe culture of muslims very well they just help others doesn't matter they are enemies or friendlies
If you listen to interviews from Marcus...the Taliban had control of him for a short period of time so technically he was captured
Marcus definitely has an angel guarding him... Respect for all the people involved on that rescue and all the brothers that paid the ultimate sacrifice. Prayers for the families.
And Bless the Afghans who rescued and took care of him until they arrived.
Welcome to indian comandos We gaurd your angels.
I dont care what elite branch you're in. I bless for all of you who served.
“We never leave a fallen comrade behind” infantrymen to the core.
Don’t forget to respect all levels of every branch of service. Any soldier would give their life to rescue another soldier.
Doesn’t matter if they are special operations or not. I’ve known guys who are SF, Ranger and in their own words have said “ it’s not the tab that makes the man. It is the man that makes the man. “
Very true but also, you don't have to be American sf either..the Canadian Airborne troops are just as capable as Rangers & JTF is tier 2 along side Delta
xaviar detach he didn't say you had to be American forces?
You're being too hooah bud. Don't think your every day 92G or a 42A S1 desk jockey would get out of their chair to go save some infantry dudes in Afghan.
Hey Harry I don’t believe I’m being to Hooaaah. I deployed Army Infantry Reconnaissance to Afghanistan 2011-2012. Everybody all the way down to the desk jockey gave a rip about each other.
@@collinbaroh3487 Hooaaah!
This is one of the reasons I chose to change my capacity for Ranger Battalion. Never will I leave a fallen comrade. Rangers lead the way!!
This is why they say “Rangers Lead the Way”!! We may have service rivalries.... but make no mistake!! We are ALL Brothers in the Special Operations community!! I still, to this day, have brothers from across all four services, who still keep in touch, and reach out to me often! Navy SEALs, Army Special Forces, Army Rangers, Marine Force Reconnaissance.... it doesn’t matter. You mess with one of us, you mess with ALL of us!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
5 branches of service*
@Operation Agatha The newly-established Space Force, maybe? The Coast Guard is part of the Department of Homeland Security.
@nik pik Him and Marcus are still friends .Marcus brings him to his house in the US to hang out
Operation Agatha I was in the 5th service...unfortunately, it was The community service😩
Mess with the U.S. you mess with the best
My nephew is 75th ranger regiment, 3rd ranger bat. Could not be prouder of what they do for us.
No. The US military are the worst kind of illegal immigrant. They hide behind expensive toys and growth hormones.
You think the US military are the good guys? They fail America by chasing false enemies overseas while ignoring the true enemy behind the veil at home...
You don’t understand what you’re promoting...
What do they do for you exactly?... Invading countries halfway across the world?
@@72marshflower15 go play in your safe place soy boy
@@DublinDan Killing terrorist that left unchecked, will do things like 9/11 again.
@@72marshflower15 Well I found the guy who has never met a ranger before
The guy on body recovery saying he didnt think people can burn up like that. I felt that.. when I seen my first burned up body from a plane crash when I was a firefighter
Rangers are the world's best all-terrain fighting Soldier. Easy to believe because it's true.
Marines: hold my keg!
@@wesk7346 lmao I know a few people in the marines that wouldn't even sniff making battalion
You haven't met a Royal Marine Commando
Far Out Man ..so the sea of OD green parachutes coming after diplomacy fails... you are taking about the Marines then, right! Lol! Just kidding... Rangers lead the way!
@Far Out Man what is the average required miles for a ranger to run or hike? Are the rangers doing uphill march or run? Im dead curios about the ranger physical training.
I can watch these military stories all day.
…"...though I may be the lone survivor …"...
That one line says it all
God bless you all. “Never leave a fallen body behind” chilled me through the bone. Thank you for your above and beyond service.
Glad that there are men that volunteer to do these jobs to keep Americans safe! God bless them!
Rangers lead the way. Some of the best I’ve ever been around. Hunter army airfield has some of the best fighters in the world. Take it easy gents but keep grinding. Love y’all brothers.
You can hear the pain from in their voices as they recall on those 12 days. But you also hear the determination to bring everyone home.
It is the service and sacrifice of these men that makes me proud to be American.
Veterans Day only comes once a year. Yet they serve 24/7/365. Don't forget them.
Peace.
I really hate how the afghans who rescued him, dressed him, fed him, let em into a home, had little to no credit whatsoever.
Migraine they did get some credit but I understand where you’re coming from
This is from the ranger perspective not his...
@Jay S. He actually got the Afgan man who took him in over to America so he could see him again. Moron.
Jay S. Bruh he visits Marcus in America all the time
It is interseting to hear details from the Afghan rescuers roo. Many contradict Marcus's details in his book. Regardless this is a epic tale or survival.
R.I.P. for the fallen soldiers 😔
Never ending respect and gratitude for these individuals. Might be the man or woman next to you at grocery check-out line and one would never know of their dedication and accomplishments.
No it’s never the women, this is what men do for one another. You’ll never see a woman have this.
@@Mr.Skeleton.spotted the virgin
Thank you Rangers, Seals, Marines, and all other troops... God Speed...
Chills watching and listening to this story again. Full respect and honor to you all.
Thank you to all of you men and women in our military !!!
What an amazing story of everyone who was involved in saving that Navy SEALs life. Even the person who invented his radio and his Mom.
His dad is to thank not his mom fool
God Bless you alll.....This World would never be What It is if it wasn’t for you guys....You guys are a True Heroes 😊😊😊
Amen
Fun Fact: The Ranger Nicholas Moore stated a lot of things about Marcus Lutrell. Especially how he couldn't recount any terrain or any info to pinpoint the location of the bodies. But he couldn't give anything. He also stated how Marcus was ungrateful about being rescued by the Rangers since he was a SEAL. The rangers were very angry about this since they trudged through snow, rain and weeks to find him and his crew. But he hated the fact that Rangers rescued him. Also disputed his claim for the number of enemy fighters.
Yeah gulab said there were about 15 taliban I think don’t quote me on the exact number, Marcus states that there were about 80 taliban fighters engaging them
its really wierd cuz i was under the assuption travis osbourne made first contact
The way Marcus explains how his brothers die, sounds just like Spartans wanted to die in the move 300. Salute to all these military guys
Operation Red Wing.. Biggest loss of life in the U.s Seals. Marcus lutrell, the man who lived, I'll never lose respect for.
This is why the American soldier is best in the world. We take care of our own regardless of what branch of the military you serve in. We are all brothers.
All countries have amazing soldiers. British commandos, SAS, SBS, Canada SF, France commandos, Australia 🇦🇺 SAS, NZ SAS, Russia 🇷🇺 Spetznaz, Israeli commandos, germans commandos.
Listen to Dakota Meyer jre episode he talks about how a qrf of army guys refused to give him(the Marines) back up bc they didn't wanna die over some Marines he also talked about how airforce guys wouldn't give em air support except for one airman that happened to be a former Marine. It's a sad reality but we actually do leave our own out to dry/die sometimes. Military branch rivalry can sometimes go a lot deeper than one would suspect
As a Vietnam vet, the ONLY one's who abandon us were the ones who sent us!
Even though America’s whole recruiting system is based on men being expendable.
Almost gives me chills when he says they were told they probably wouldn't make it out of there if they went to get him and the Rangers are just like alright let's go get him 💪💯
Nothing but respect for these Warriors 🖖🙏💯
"Soldier's"Thats What We Are And Thats What We Do.🙏
Man this Marcus guy seems like a hard piece of nail! Thank you for your service Mr! Rangers lead the way💪
Luttrell is something. Falling off the mountain, in the first fall be broke his back in three places. Continued the fight. Then crawled 7 miles until the Afghan villager found him. One year later he was back in action in Iraq. I am pretty sure the guy can walk on water.
He ran from the fight
Seals are like scalpel blades. Small, Light yet very sharp and precise.
Rangers are like sledge hammers. Big, strong and smash everything on its path.
Very moving. I am filled with admiration and pride when I watch this. What great men.
tears are at my eyes and I'm not the type person to cry...
GOD BLEESS ALL OF U GUYS and thank you. Truly grateful nation famous people did not understand at least appreciation and love are you willing to sacrifice and guess for us
The gratitude Americans have for the service men and women is infinite🙏🏼 God bless every service member !
Thank you for what you do. Thank you very much for serving! God bless all of you!
Love and respect for my brother in arms no man get left behind
Big salute to all soldiers👍🏻
Every time I hear Marcus talk, I tear up with pride. And I’m not ashamed to say that
GOD Bless our Men & Woman in our Armed Forces. Thank You for Your service to Our Great Country. All of YOU are Always in my Prayers. 🙏
THE elite infantry!
@Far Out Man that's what the young ones want from their brothers ❤
20sec into the video I realized it must be Operation Red Wing related. Respect ✊
I’m so sorry for the loss of your brothers I’ve watched the movie at least 20 times true heroes
Rangers & Seals-together are The Best combination of hero's!Watchin from Canada-Wish you all the best!!
"Life fast, fight well, and have a beautiful ending." AATW
Thank You For Your Service & Sacrifices🙏❤️
I seen the actual footage like 6yrs ago u can't find it anywhere now but I cried like a little girl
Fidel Rodriguez I’ve seen it too...when the taliban filmed the dead seal and his belongings and personal photos.....
Was this worth it to you man? I was so upset about this ffffnngg fiasco! All these people dead. What did they die for?
Navy Seals, Rangers, Green Berets, Marines... doesn't matter it's a Privalge to help each other and fight together.
Kudos to the Rangers. I was familiar with Marcus Luttrell's story but not his rescue. A good friend of mine had 2 sons who became Rangers, the best of the best!
In addition, I had several teachers and relatives who served as Rangers.
His team wasn’t in the helicopter thoe
We will always be there for you.
it’s not about country, policy or glory, it’s about the man next to you.
At the end of the day we're all Brothers
Rangers are the best. Pastored some outside Fort Benning 4th RTB and 3/75 . Great leaders.
Thank you for helping our men!

Simple RESPECT ~ Thank You! Cheers
Rangers the heroes, I salute you...
Is this what inspired Lone Survivor? With Mark Wahlberg?
Marcus Luttrell wrote the book Lone Survivor which the movie was based off of and had a 5'8" Marky Mark play Murcus Lutrell who is 6'5" or something like that. Marcus is seen in two scenes in the movie including the one where the Chinook is shot down
Marcus Luttrell is a fellow Texan! All Texans should be proud of that
This video is about the second rescue team that came to the final survivors rescue
Marcus's brother was also a Navy Seal. I believe they are twins.
Read the book bro
God bless you Guys. Rangers Lead The Way!
And most of all we pray for you
God Bless everybody who serves in our military.
The Gospel of Judas shows that the US military serves The Beast..
Wittingly or not...
72marshflower15 what are you on about? You know nothing and I’m willing to guess you’ve never served.
God Bless. Thank you guy's for your service. From kj shepherds in Caldwell Idaho.
Continue to lead the way my brothers! The creed say's it all!
Rangers fought some of the hardest fought battles in US history. It's sad we place the SEALS higher than them
K G More direct action raids than any other task force amigo.
All these adrenaline junkies tryna see some action. That’s where it’s at boys...
We don’t really... it’s just that most rangers are quiet professionals and usually say very little about what they do. seals on the other hand look for book deals as soon as they pass first phase of buds!
They're all great warriors. No one above the other.
Apples and Oranges.
This is the History Channel at its best!
I guess even the SEALs have to call 9-11 sometimes. And its always the Rangers with Air Force PJ's that come to the rescue! :D
SEMPER FI RANGERS ! YOU'RE THE TOAST OF TOWN.
GOD BLESS OUR MILITARY
Proud to be in C Co. 3rd Ranger Bat. Yes, I haven’t done anything yet but I’m just proud to be this regiment.

Hands down!!!! Patricia, please stop watching the view....lol jk!
A great true story...
3:16 I'm assuming Delta was that special forces unit
Nope.
It was devgru.
