@Jay R You have no idea of what you are talking about. We rolled slow also to make sure there were no IED ahead. That was really common on the road. Just running away of the fight usually got you right at the IED that they wanted you to hit. That was their strategy all of the time.. just pop and shoot and get people running away right into a IED trap. I was there, third vehicle from the convoy. Stopping was the best we could have done.

I remember in 04 when we were training for Iraq (Germany). We conducted a variety of training exercises shooting out of a moving vehicle (day and night). We were part of OIF III (end of 05 and most of 06) so we missed the first and second battle of Fallujah. Correction, I was just getting to Germany when First AD (armored division) was coming home from a 15 month deployment. First AD got extended 3 months after the first battle of Fallujah. So I got to spend July 04 -November 05 in Germany before deploying. My battery was the only ones to deploy in battalion. We supported the 101st air borne division. While we missed the battles of Fallujah we were there for the battle of Ramadi. We had the up armored Humvees. I didn't actually take part as I was at Speicher, but between Fallujah and Ramadi those were the most intense battles of the operation.

2004....all the drones we had were shot from a slingshot and controlled by radio thru a laptop. Not exactly support. And we always had a QRF unit standing by. And we did get air support from helicopters. Just saying. And not all of the units driving around can get escorted by air support. Its was real life, not a videogame.

Because usually a well prepared ambush has some surprise to prevent you from leaving. So you can choose: 1. Drive trough and probably hit a massive IED then try to fight off the enemy. 2. Turn around and return then probably hit a massive wire or radio controlled IED then try to fight off the enemy. 3. Hold and assault into the ambush.
The whole idea of a good ambush is that the side getting ambushed already starts with the biggest disadvantage possible, there are no perfect ways to deal with one and suffering losses is guaranteed.

Seems like a bad decision to tell them to pick up speed and push forward . Could have put a helicopter above or some a-19

An occupying super military can't get ambushed. They can only get what they asked for or take on behalf of their corporate overlords' private profits.
    "ambushed" LOL

The soldiers are brave. But there is distinct flaw in their trg philosophy. Over dependence on tech and unwillingness to mov out of vehicle/ mechanisation has primarily taken away agility of an infantryman. The Examples are Vietnam, Korea Afganistan and so on.

In the first battle in the city of Fallujah, the fighters placed mounds from the dust and completely closed the city to prevent anyone from entering. The American forces were unable to enter and many of them died. In the second battle, the people of the city demanded that the city be opened out of it. But they could not, then, forbidden (chemical) weapons were fired into the city, causing the death of many Iraqi civilians and fighters, serious diseases and many deaths due to inhalation of these chemicals. These events are narrated from the families that were there and witnessed what happened in detail Saddam was America's client but he challenged them so it was to get rid of it, and the nonsense of freedom, which deceived the people you are trying to do will not get you nowhere, In these words, I mean the government, not the American people.

@Marcus Aetius I find that very hard to believe since US and Iraqi forces cleared that place with no NBC equipment. News reporters were in the city filming. I also know a Marine that was there and chemical weapons are not part of his story nor would he help in a cover-up of US using chemical/biological weapons on innocent people caught in the middle. That guy believes he was killing Islamic Fundamentalists who had commited murder at completely took over the city. He believes he was trying to turn Iraq into a better place than when Hussain and his sons were in charge.
Islamic Fundamentalists were the ones killing the most people who had nothing to do with it. They needed them there as human shields. They didn't want them to leave and tried to force them to stay by fear and brutalization.
US was and Iraqi forces were the ones telling the regular people to leave for well over a week before they went in. The long lines of people fleeing the city are on film. Then US and Iraqi forces went in once a large percentage of regular people were out.. They found dead people alright, but not from chemical weapons. Unless chemical weapons shoot families in the head from point blank range execution style.

They can fire and use propaganda. Do not trust any government

@@johnbodo2972 I really don't trust US government at all about anything, but I do trust the guy I know that was there. US and some Iraqi forces went into a city loaded with enemy that had killed innocents and they went building to building, door to door in one of the largest, ballsy and gritty infantry based urban battles since Stalingrad. They didn't even completely level the city either. Men's men is what went into that city.
If the guy I know's personal account matches up with the government's story, well it's probably what happened. I knew the guy before and after his service and he is not the type that would just be ok with chemicals being used. He had just got his teaching degree when 9/11 happened. Then he turned USMC infantry, then he turned into USMC infantry LT and after who knows how many deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan in a decade plus military career, he now works at a VA with guys that have PTSD like he does.
If chemicals were used, then why is there his story and many many others of going into those buildings and fighting men that were very much alive until they surrendered or were killed? Being in a building isn't going to save very many from the kind of chemicals US has. Why in the films from the actual event in no one wearing NBC equipment if chemicals were used? Why is this the first time I a " conspiracy theorist" ever heard of US using chemical weapons in that battle? More than likely because this OP is full of it.
