Perhaps he will get his act together, but don't give up your life and money for a guy who's not working with you and isn't fully transparent. She deserves so much more.

How do we know she's worthy? Short call, she could be a terrible person. And even if she isn't, the scenario Dave described, with this young guy making the national average salary and showering her with gifts and worshiping the ground she walks on... Is that really a healthy relationship? Treating women like goddesses to be worshiped? That call pissed me off. A young guy got thrown under the bus because he's not a millionaire at 22 and spending every cent on some random chick in LA.

1:42:54 Exactly girl. Same family background here. One of my older friends put it in a good way “date as much as you like. Dating isn’t trying to look for someone, it’s trying to find out who YOU are.”
Meaning, you are now finding out what you want in a partner, and all this time passing by is simply lessons and growth. If it works out, GREAT!, if it doesn’t, GREAT TOO! Because all throughout you are learning what you want in a relationship and what you don’t want.
It’s exactly how I found I out I want a partner who is growth oriented and believes anything is possible in life with hard work.
Take your time girl, the one who is for you will come along when you least expect it. And, every relationship you have between today and then will simply be part of the journey!

Friends of mine were in the exact same situation as the couple looking to buy the car. Her parents disliked him, judged everything they did. They got married last year of college and unfortunately they haven't talked to her mom in 20 years except at a few family events (funerals/weddings). They are happy and successful, but the only reason was she was willing to disconnect from that relationship. It is a hard choice, but they told her mom, either let us live our life, stop attacking us or we are done with you. She continued and they said no and excluded her from their life.

I don't know why you can't use the free manual entry one and keep your receipts and enter expenses every day. Just pretend the $ signs are pounds or Euros for anyone living overseas. It's the principle of allocating money for expenses in various categories, doing a strict daily recording, and then seeing what is left and figuring out how to use that money in advance each month. What would not be possible is the automatic slide-over from financial institutions in the paid version because those financial institutions are not attached to the every dollar. However, you can do exactly the same thing with an Excel spreadsheet, which I did for years before Every Dollar became available.

We have cash ISAs which are just the same as savings accounts except you don’t pay tax on the interest and then separately to that people can have a stocks and shares ISA where you put money in that is invested in the stock market. Sam is adorable. Her fiancee has done well, and did well by her (by encouraging her to pay off her debt before he proposed).

Dave is wrong about the authorized user in credit cards. It shows in your credit report and doesn’t specify when you pull the credit whether you’re the owner or authorized user

Idk. I'm a So-Fi user and don't understand why anyone would have it out for them, so I thought it was a good question. 😂
They sell debt, but oh well, every bank sells debt.
Just don't take it out, nobody is putting a gun to your head. 😂
I use their HYSA and Roth IRA cuz they match. Their app and customer service is good. Works for me lol.

A authorized user does show on the credit report, so if the parent or spouse uses the credit card stupidly it impacts the authorized users credit. Dave is only correct in that the authorized user isn’t liable for the debit.

I just do not understand why the GOV needs to take so much from the citizens even though the money was taxed when earned... How many times does the same dollar get taxed? I know I can not change it but it amazes me so many folks are ok with that. The GOV is drunk on our over taxed money. I guess because so many of the citizens do not want to work or feel entitled and want the GOV to take care of them from cradle to grave?

Donor Advised Funds allow you to donate money to a charity holding, getting the tax deduction in the year you get the income, and then you decide later where to donate the funds all while the money makes money.

Every single bank is in the business of making money, even the small town bank. I really don't understand Dave's point while he was responding to that SoFi question... If I have to keep my money in a bank I might as well pick whichever one gives me the best deal on my savings account. I do keep an account with a regional credit union too but I keep my emergency fund in a high yield savings account since the local banks just don't have a competitive rate.

Do you guys know any thing about ESOP stocks from so called "Employee Stock Ownership Plans" --- where they say the company's employee's are "owners" but they are really not?
