I just bought a 2021 Mazda CX-5 Signature after much research into the competition. I chose the top tier Signature over the Grand Touring Reserve because the Signature has a 360 degree overhead camera. I have found these cameras to be very helpful when parking, especially parallel parking to avoid scratching up alloy wheels on the curb (aka “curb rash.”) Also I live in Las Vegas, the Mojave Desert. Summertime afternoon temperature routinely exceed 100 degrees F. The ventilated (cooled) seats are a godsend. The ventilated seats are standard on the Grand Touring Reserve too. Outside of Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada roads are wide open. The quick acceleration from the 2.5 L turbo (0-60 mph in 6.4 sec) is great for passing slowly moving trucks and RV’s.
Hi George, Glad you are enjoying your CX5 sounds like a nicely equipped one. I am yet to drive a turbo version but would be interested to see how they feel compared to the non turbo variant which feels a bit sluggish.
Nice review overall. Just to clarify your comments re the turbo specs. You were right with the kw (170kw, up to 182 with 98 ron fuel), however the torque is the highlight of the engine at a pretty impressive 420Nm from about 2000 RPM. Pretty much class leading torque. Not the 260 odd you quoted. I haven't driven one (I've got the turbo diesel CX-5) but it has from all reports great mid-range rev performance where you spend the most of your time driving, rather than all out top end boost. Agreed with pretty much the rest of the review, good job!
Hi Paul, Thanks for your comments appreciate the pick up on the torque. That's a good torque figure out of the 2.5 litre turbo engine. I will have to see if I can get my hands on one to review.
Don't know how that is the 2liter version when it has AWD.. doesn't the AWD version come with the 2.5 litre (at least) ? Apart from that- great video!!
Why have Mazda ditched the digital fuel/temp gauge in the 2021 CX-5 for old school analogue. I can't believe we are paying $45K for a CX-5 and the entire instrument cluster is all analogue. Not to mention Australia got ZERO updates like the US did with standard 10in infotainment screens and other tech. I'd rather have a less nice interior and modern tech than fancy cloth seats and less plastic.
Thanks for the comments Brad I am assuming you are going by the dash reading in the video per the comment above? Good pick up. The tank was not entirely full just above 3/4. What probably affected the range reading was me sitting with the car on idle for some time. But I didnt get a chance to do a full tank kilometre test on it. Will ask the owner, to see what they are getting from a full tank.
I have a 2021 CX5 GT and I fooking love it!!! What a fantastic automobile and so fun to drive.
Glad you are enjoying your CX5

Couldn't agree more with these comments.

Hey, Thanks for your comments. This version I reviewed was FWD.
Thank You very good review on the FWD Sports Maxx , Just wondering your car had duel exhausts on it , is that standard on the 2021 Sports Maxx ?
Hi Anna, Thank you for your comments. The duel exhaust are standard on the 2021 models.
They are standard on all models/trim levels. Well, at least where I'm from (South Africa 🇿🇦).
Quick question can someone show me where the handbrake is? I might be being daft or half asleep 😴
Electric handbrake next to the infotainment control or at 9:13 on the video.
