Something to bear in mind is that one if the symptoms that you can get from heavy metal lead poisoning is degraded mental state, including paranoia. Combined with the stress of being physically sick with a dying baby Lihua's behaviour in episode 1 becomes much more understandable.
In episode 1 it was one of Lihua's ladies in waiting that knocked the flower w/ the note off the windowsill
this episode is pure satisfaction that slap was great and Lihua is so pretty and I love that Maomao's advice to her worked

To clear up the confusion about episode 1’s events: We saw one of Lihua’s ladies-in-waiting discard the flower; Lihua herself never even saw the message. And Gyokuyou later says she tried to tell Lihua, but Lihua wouldn’t listen. So I guess now Lihua has to carry the weight of knowing if she’d believed Gyokuyou, her son might still be alive. Poor woman.
At least she’s got a new way to get the emperor into her bed!

The boobjob/paizuri thing still got me laughing XD and Lady Gyokuyou finally got her sleep, else, the emperor gonna visited her every night and it's like, are you gonna broke my back or something ? XD but now, thanks to the boobjob thing, so the emperor visited Lady Lihua more.
Like the other comment, it was Lady Lihua's lady-in-waiting who pushed the flower branch with note off the window. And this lady-in-waiting will re-appear in the future. Not in this season, but the next one. There will be a lot more to the whole powder poison story.
