The gregorian calendar, which we use, was created over 2000 years ago, and originally had 10 months, july and august being named after julius caesar and his son augustus caesar. The original clock is called a sun dial, a circular piece of wood that uses the shadow of the sun to tell time, the clock is just a more advanced version of this.
4:37 Her point was that whether it's her ears & tail or some "burns", all are part of who she is. Unlike how Lawrence introduced her, a "wife" with "burns" who chooses to hide her face out of shame, Holo is in contrast proud of her identity and would never seek to hide who she is purely out of embarrassment, shame, or fear of public scorn. She then flaunts them temporarily to prove the point. She is only playing along because they both know she would be hunted & killed by the church if discovered.
Strict universal time and time zones weren't really a thing until railroads and trains became a thing. Each town would keep its own time and there might be a half hour difference between towns that were right next to each other. This is obviously a problem when a train is supposed to arrive at 12:30 and the train that was supposed to leave at noon hasn't left yet. Anyway, Holo's point was that farmers don't get up at 5am, they get up with the sunrise, they don't harvest wheat on August 12th or whatever, they harvest when it's ready to harvest. It might be around the same time every year, but it's unlikely to be the exact same day every year.
I used to live near a small mountain where, every Spring, some snow would remain on its northern side. It had a shape like a horse. So long as the horse was visible, people knew it wasn't time to sow yet. Only once the snow horse had molten was it warm enough for that. So even today, we hear of such things. Decisions made not using a calendar, but looking at signs from nature.
16:09 Holo was talking about humans hunting wolves. Implying she was hunted before, which is something she does not want to talk about. It was a similar situation to Lawrence with the roles reversed. So, they are equal now in terms of experiences.

15:05 You don't need clocks to tell time. You can get _local solar time_ to within about 15 minutes with a sun dial. Calendars are based on counting days, and seasons on equinoxes and solstices. Doing something not based on counted time would be observing nature for clues for when to do something, like when a certain tree or flower blooms it should be safe to plant and not have the crop killed by a frost.

to your comment about calendars. In that day and age, when the church was just coming up and converting a countryside of mostly pegans. I'm pretty sure the common wealth farmer went mostly by weather and a sense of the season rather than a calendar. It definitely existed, but that's a thinking mans item, who could afford paper and spending his days pondering the mysteries of life. I got my plow, I got my ho and my knee is telling me it's going to rain on the regular. The days are getting longer and my years of experience say I should start prepping my next crop right about now. I don't need no fancy expensive pieces of paper with words and numbers to tell me what I've been raised to already know. My senses and blessings from the gods of nature do just fine.
I discovered the anime in middle school and to this day, it's still the best romance anime for me. I had a little tear just with the remake opening. I grew up with the French version, where Holo's voice actress had a more delicate voice than Seiyū's in VO. But in this remake, Holo takes on that self-assured, mischievous air with a little more support. I'm a bit worried about the VF of the remake, it won't be the same with an adult look. The work on gestures and micromovements is also very pleasing. The animation is magnificent, but I confess to a nostalgic preference for the original's less fine, brighter animation. This nude scene is so apt to demonstrate the quality of the work: far from sexualizing, we see the intimacy and respect that the characters have for each other, like normal individuals, even before stronger feelings gradually and subtly grow. The male character, Yarei, was absent. I deduce that the remake will be closer to the lights novels than the original anime, which took some liberties, notably to soften Lawrence, who was more Manichean.

Holo the human lie detector. Yes Kraft was trying very honestly and genuinely to comfort Holo when he told her that he's sure her home has remained the same since she has not changed. But did you catch her look just before she played it off by telling him it was disgraceful to allow him to comfort her? Now rewatch episode 1, or at least the part where Kraft tells Holo he has never heard of Yoitsu. She doesn't say a word, but check her expression. Does she think he's lying? It really is all about the little blink and you'll miss it moments with Kraft and Holo
At the same time, she isn't a hypocrite. Just before that she was telling about reason for lying being far more important than lie itself and she, most likely since it was implied by her smile, realized that while he wasn't telling the truth he did try to cheer her up with it
I hate that they took out the stupid potato line. Context in the original version and even in the light novel Holo chokes on the potato Holo gets annoyed at it, calling it stupid. It's basically something she always has a problem eating them so being one of those lines Sort of funny because it becomes a running gag about her not being able to really eat them without starting to choke. It's used once, but at the same point, it's still just amusing to describe the start of that
pretty sure the things Holo was saying meant like "you get giddy and excited to going on an adventure so that's the most exciting part, if the dog don't bark you're prolly not gonna be scared of the dog bc u will know it is not aggressive like that, the behind thing that's gonna be double entndre lol Holo being Holo, but for that part I get it the mystery of the face gives of the fantasy, the desire to see that woman, kinda likfe for p*rn a lot of independent ones don't show face so it is to be desire to see or Vtubing"
If you were to know about the change in value of that coin... it would mean nothing if you have no money to exchange at all at that point in time... but if you get 20 people to exchange theirs and you get 10% of their earnings you would be getting a small part of 20 different persons... essentially getting 2 person's worth of profit... assuming they all made their business in the same amount... and you wouldn't have even invested a single coin yourself...
I'm Japanese, but it honestly frustrates me to see you pointing out things without noticing that the subtitles for this anime are incorrect. Of course, it's not your fault. In Japanese, when Holo says, "They're not punctual with time. They're punctual with the air," that scene isn't translated correctly.
