One trick that you all should learn is to get packing tape and tape the entire broken panel so you wont get glass shards all over. And it also makes the thing more easy to handle. Nice video.

Thanks for this video. I found a nice kit for the digitizer on Amazon for $18.00 that included the home button, adhesive and tools, very complete kit. The hardest part is getting panel off, it took me at least an hour but I was learning as I went. All-in-all this really helped me pull off a successful front panel replacement.
That was a good guide. I watched it once and successfully managed to replace my iPad 4 top glass and digitizer. Definitely not an easy repair and also very messy because as you pry the screen up it splinters into the tiniest of glass slivers that end up all over the place. At the end of the day however, I saved my self several hundred dollars by going DIY, but then I am an old PC technician.

Worked well, took a fair bit of time but then my screen was in very bad shape. One thing to be aware of is that when you attach the new screen, make sure that the digitizer attachment is pushed in enough so that the broken white lines are flush with the fixing. If it isn't your screen won't work - like the guy says at the start this is a tricky fix, but I managed it using this video, one other thing to remember is to tape the screen your removing and do this somewhere where you can clean up afterwords as you will end up with tiny pieces of glass falling off as you remove it. Good luck 😎

Just be honest. You'll probably be surprised on what'll happen and how common it is. Apple use a glass screen that's super easy to break. I have an iPad mini and my £149 smartphone is a lot more stronger. They're more likely to be pissed if you keep it from them.

Cuz there's no point on spending 100-400 dollars to get the screen fixed or replace the product via inserince thing. When there's just a very small crack. I fixed mine with a hammer and duct tape. It still works perfectly, as a target for my 9mm pistol.

Its digitizer problem. Glass front panel have digitizer integrated, so yes replace that.

I have replaced a screen on it and some of the numbers on the key code to sign in don't work. Any ideas on what might cause this?? Thanks

Damn I never broke any of my stuff ds, dsi XL, iPod 4 and 5 and none of them broke but my iPad mini 4 badly nicked wood and one crack going down my screen it's drives me CRAZY

Same I haven't cracked my Windows PC, my iPad mini 3, my dads iPad 2, my dads iPad 1 that got robbed, my iPhone 4, my Ds, or my 3ds XL. But I cracked the solar panel on a small flashlight thingy

I'm watching in case it ever happens. Had this iPad 2 for three years, no cracks yet, but it never hurts to be prepared for when it does happen.

Thx this was pretty helpful. Also I don't replace the glass untell it is unusualble. I don't do it when there is a small crack. Cuz there's no point on spending 100-400 dollars to get the screen fixed or replace the product via inserince thing. When there's just a very small crack. Basacoly I live with it untell it's unuseabale.
umm cant i do it on my ipad 4 its replazed screen is heat added tape so cant a plastic screen be better it seems it react to force
