This is my initial review since I just got the ipad and I'm hoping to update it when I've had it longer ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA . I purchased one that was listed as "acceptable condition" and was a little worried about what it would look like. However, I am pleased with its condition. The back has some scuffs and a small dent near the logo. There are a few tiny marks at the bottom of the front of the ipad but the condition of the screen is perfect. There are no scratches or anything. I was able to set it up, use it, and it charges fine. I'm hoping it continues to work well for me. So far it was worth the purchase. Also shipping was fast. The item came one day earlier than expected

Year 2022, Trade Me auction, a seller told the bidders it only cost $25 to $40 to repair the broken glass. We all know what kiwi are like! The cost of labour in the west to replace and repair the glass is enough to buy a brand new LCD panel for the iPad. Do it yourself is not likely for this task.
I have purchase the screen thinking it’s a easy replacement but didn’t realise u need a machine to separate the existing glass from the original lcd is there any way to do this without using the machine
no, although you could buy an icloud locked ipad with a good screen and swap it with yours

How to know if my ipad needs only glass replacement or glass with touch digitiser replacement when screen is cracked but touch is working?
If your screen is broken and it has lines going through it you’re gonna need a full screen replacement but if your screen is cracked and everything still works you need iPad digitizer
Sam's Gaming only on gen1 ... on second generation they are glued together, so will need complete replacement, remember to transplant sleep wake sensor and ID button

Very good indeed, do you think it would be possible to seperate the glass from the lcd with a hot air gun? I know it could burn the lcd but do tou think its possible?
I think you found your answer already since it's been long time posting, but for everybody else : YES it is possible with great care, a heating pad/heating machine is best though ! you also need some goldwire for separation, and something to dissolve the glue. Once you are over this and it's clean, you need a mold so you can fit the new glass pressicely on the LCD ...and new glue of course. The LCD and glass have to be glued. Don't forget to transplant your home button or your ID will be botched. And desolder old sleep/wake sensor. Or just buy a new and solder. Have fun

Well, I was stupid enough to snap one of the three cables on a new screen and I was wondering is it worth trying to transfer old glass to the new lcd, since mine is not cracked, only internal screen is dead. I know that it's hard, but is it even worth trying? And yeah, I would use heat gun since I don't own a heat plate.

You can diy it for less than $50, it’s non laminate so it’s easier and cheaper since the digitizer is separate from the lcd but if the lcd is broken, it’s probably around $80
