The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Great performance of a great song written by James F Hanley! And thanks to Tom Smith's post elsewhere, I now know that the singer is the daughter of Dean Martin. A lot of talent in that family!
Thanks for sharing this gem!
I was hoping they would post this! I saw an edited version in a "Best of Sullivan" show years ago and really enjoyed it. It was great to see the full performance of the song! Gail is wonderful!
She's Beautiful, nice voice, but I love how expressive she is.
Happy Wednesday... thank you for sharing! 💖
She had a beautiful voice indeed
I had not heard of her before seeing this posting. She is very talented.
Her name pops up mostly for having dated David Ruffin. They say Ruffin got fired from the Temptations for missing a concert because he went to see his then girlfriend’s ( Gail Martin) show.
Hey! I hope you all are having a great day/ night! Jesus loves you! God bless! John 3:16
She had a nice voice
Thank you very much for posting this! From January 29, 1967 (the year is currently wrong in the description), this is Dean Martin's daughter singing "Rose of Washington Square". The song was originally a hit in 1920, and is one of my favorites! Fantastic post!
Thank you for sharing! I did not know she was Dean Martin's daughter. Loved Dean Martin!! 💖
@@that70sgirl90 You're welcome! He was a great singer, and I liked his personality a lot too!
@@TomElvisSmith I always Loved watching the Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis movies. Thanks again! Have a Peaceful Evening! 💖
@@that70sgirl90 Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful evening as well! It was great to hear from you!

I noticed this about Ed Sullivan. When he takes a performer's hand at the end of their performance, it's almost like a hostage situation. They clearly want to go, but he keeps them in place until he's ready to let them go. 🤨
perverse mind
He has the camera on him. btw
Not perverse. Sullivan was very stubborn
He should have gotten the hint 😅😅.
