This is the only tutorial I've found that directly said "buy this kind of switch" and "yes, you just plug them all in and they should talk to each other." I have two XDJ 700s and just ordered an Toraiz SP-16 and was hoping to sync them over DJ Link. Thank you so much for not being as vague as everyone else.

The USB connection of a DJM mixer to a computer, and the CDJs using UTP/ethernet Pro Link for performance (HID) control in Rekordbox was new to me. I've tested this on my DJM900NXS2 / CDJ-2000NXS2 kit and indeed it works.
However if you want to use that same kit as HID controller for any other DJ software but Rekordbox, then a USB connection to each of devices is required. I use my kit mainly in HID mode as controller for Traktor, which means 2 USBs from my CDJ's and one from my DJM, all going into a USB hub in the coffin. The USB hub is then connected to my computer.
Don’t you still have to manually tap beat fx bpm for the 900 nxs2? Still doesn’t read bpm right, has to be on auto or tap mode?
does the track preview work via USB? mine isnt working with same setup.
@@everyday602430 If i remember correctly that function only works over ProLink with the 900NXS2 or V10 mixers. But I could be wrong

Hello Dj City. Tnx for your great video tutorial. What do you think about connecting cdj 2000 nexus 2 with ableton 10. So one is dj-ing and the other is following with some loops? Is that possible? Because it seems to me that it's really difficult to find a workaround for this matter. with external apps like carabinier and all that stuff its way to complicated to set up everything. Both Cdj's are connected to rekordbox on a laptop and it's used only as a library. Gear Cdj Nexus 2 and DDJ900 NSX2, Ableton 10 and Push 2. Hope i will find some answer for that since i am really struggling with it :) . tnx Dj City

I need 3 of them, a V10LF, a way better healt so I’m not sick every day, a Porsche and F-35 because I love their sound.
A9 has dacs that are just as good, maybe slightly better than the v10.
Pioneer💪is the club standard for a reason.

Hi Mo, I saw you have the DJ City logo on the Jog wheels of the CDJ3000 players, how did you get that done? I emailed Pioneer and they said to me the only way is if i create artwork and load it for each song? I have over 100gb of music on my laptop, the admin on that would be a nightmare, is there a way of doing this like we do on the Denon players?

Hey MoJaxx, I am lucky to own a DJM-TOUR1, three CDJ-3000s, and a DJS-1000 for my home studio. Any idea on how to get Performance Mode on the screen of the DJM? Too amazing not to use the screen, and no way could I purchase every track that I want to practice with. Thoughts?

When you link 2 cdjs and a pro dj link compatible mixer together with a switch and 3 ethernet cables, is the on-air display automatically enabled when the mixer is plugged in or would i have to change a setting?
Can you provide a link to the iOS Camera ConnectionKit as I can't find anything when I search on the Apple site for my iPhone 11 or iPad Pro for accessories. If I search on Amazon I get a ton of non-Apple lead adapters but nothing that looks like the official Apple cable shown in the video. All Apple offers me that looks similar is a "Digital AV Camera lead" but that seems to be an HDMI output not a USB one?!! Don't want to order something that won't work and struggling to find the device shown in the viideo that is the "latest version" to work with Pro Link as suggested. Thanks!

I just received a single CDJ-3000 - I only work with 3 decks. & I am trying to Pro Link it to my XDJ-XZ. I have ordered a hub switch to connect all of my equipment - including Mac Book Pro M2 running Rekordbox which is where I prefer to mix my sets. Do I still need to use the usb cord to connect my laptop to the XDJ-XZ? Or are the LAN connectors enough?

Is there somewhere I can find on how to use Link to synchronize the BPM on a DJM_A9 to CDJ-3000s?
I sync my DJS1000 up to my CDJ3000s via PRO DJ Link via ethernet however, whenever I mix from one CDJ into the other the DJS1000 keeps assuming MASTER control instead, ideally when I mix one track into another on my CDJ3000s the MASTER should switch between the two CDJs only, with the DJS1000 only ever being in SYNC mode...this means the CDJs lose the function where the active decks displays the other decks waveform above..also messes up the BPMs aswell.
Is there a way you can ensure the CDJs are always the master and the DJS sample is always the slave/sync?

Very little in this video devoted to performance mode w/ the USB hookup to laptop -- for streaming and future of DJing that is the preferred route, none of this USB stick nonsense.
My issue in the perf mode setup is that after an hour and change (validated on multiple macbooks, multiple nxs2 mixers, cdj-2ks, 3ks, etc.) the players stop responding or "lag" significantly with also some audio clipping (think pin drops). I will post a video of this at some point, but pioneer needs to address this as this is not functional in a one hour set in performance mode to have performance of the players degrade to this level. On top of this, in this setup, on-air display doesn't work (not a biggie as you can see it on the player and in a simple setup, you should know what is 'on air').
Any ideas out there?
Does Link function in the same manner with Denon's Prime decks & mixers?
The only difference I can find is the beat counting rectangles on the top of the displays. From what I remember, on Pioneer players the beat grid of the Master track automatically controls the top set of rectangles, where the individual player's track is the lower set. Again, from memory, I believe this can me done with the simple sync function.
On Denons, it seems that the only way to enable that same feature is by doing a complete sync. I could be doing something wrong, but that's been my experience so far.

Great informative video. However since the release of the CDJ3000 the pro dj link is broken when it comes to using sync. It simply doesn't work when using sync, audio does not match. People on the forums have been continually told a fix is coming but they haven't been able to figure it out. It's getting worrying now as iv had them since day one and still nothing.
I’m aware of that issue, but I’m confident it will be fixed - along with a few other things with the 3000s I’d like to see them get done - even if it’s not been done as quickly as we would like. That’s one of the reasons I still have the 3000s, and have yet to do my full review of them.
@@Mojaxx I would have thought a standard feature like that on a premium priced flagship player like that should be working straight out of the box. I was originally expecting some nice added features by now but I won't hold my breath for anything like that anytime soon 😔

Man denon is killing it! Pioneer has too many restrictions compared to denon.
There is some information in this video regarding network speed that is actually not correct.
1gig full duplex has been supported since the release of the CdJ2000 nexus 2. This was not only supported, but is actually mandatory for prolink to function correctly on the nexus 2 series. While it CAN work, the use of 10/100 often results in issues with performance that can cause anything from minor issues with operation, to catastrophic and show stopping problems. For this reason, the manual and support documents for the nexus 2 specifically state that a full duplex gigabit connection is required for the nexus 2, and the same advice is given for the 3000’s.
You cannot and should not ever use low link speeds when linking devices on prolink from the nexus 2 series, or the 3000 series.
Are you liking the CDJ 3000 more than the denons?
Both have their own strengths and weaknesses, there is no objective ‘winner’ out of the two.
So...nothing about the DJS1000 or Sp16 connectivity?

Hey 😀 I have a tricky question, and you seem like the right guy to ask.
I have 1 Djm900nxs2, 2 xdj1000mk2 and one toraiz sp-16. They all work flawlessly together in pro dj link.
But here is the tricky part. If i buy an additional Xdj xz, will they all work together in pro dj link and i can assign deck 1-4 across mixers?
The connection will be like this:
Both Xdj1000mk2, the Djm900nxs2 and the toraiz sp-16 goes directly into the ethernet switch. So will the xdj xz from the extension ethernet port or one of the channel 3 & 4 slots. So the setup will be using 5 or 6 ports in the switch. But the toraiz does not count as a player, because it can't take over the master bpm, it just collects bpm from the players, so it wont take up one of the 4 maximum pro dj link slots. Neither will the Djm900nxs2. So 4 decks in total. So then assigning decks 1-4 it would be 1 & 2 from the Xdj1000mk2s, and 3 & 4 from the xdj xz. And it will be all run from a computer in export mode ofcourse. This should theoretically work right?.. If you understand what i mean 😅
Edit: this won't work, because the mixers can't communicate with each other

@@Sp3z well, the short answer is that you can always connect them and play, and since the Xone 96 has a ethernet port, they should sync also. But to be sure, ask in the pioneer forum 😊

Why in the hell doesn't a £3k mixer designed for large Pioneer setups NOT have an inbuilt switching hub in 2022? Blows my mind that you still need to have that extra cabling and wiring hanging around the back of the system. Also why isn't there an iPad Rekordbox app?? Pioneer are just not with it.
