Beginning of the season I put a quarter cup of Dawn in my sprayer attached to my hose & spray the grass. All water has minerals in it and over time that builds up and forms a crust in top of your soil. The Dawn breaks down the mineral crust and you will cut your watering needs dramatically.
Great video, I have been following you for a week now and have enjoyed your videos. I am focusing on having a killer lawn this year and find your videos very helpful! Thanks
Have you tried the tonic of humic, kelp, superthrive? 1 cup sea kelp, 3 cups humic, 1 tbls superthrive and bring to 4 gallons of water. 4 gallons per 1000sq ft. I just tried it to see if it helps with heat stress.
I think I might try a 10-0-2 organic I've seen locally this year. Milo is good once in a while but not the right NPK I need. Soil testing tells you so much! Good advice.
I use Lawn Restore as my summer go to also. It works wonderfully with Milo to get the potassium and phos all in the soil. My question is about the watering/keeping the ground moist the first few days of using Lawn Restore. Do you stick by that rule even in the summer? It's easier for me to do in the Spring and Fall but watering everyday in July for 3 days in a row is tough, do you always stick to that?
I honestly dont. I definitely make sure it gets watered in with a half inch at least (hopefully with some rain help) but I don't personally water it for 3 days. I think it does just fine
After this application what will you be using and when? I’m trying to figure what and when to put. I haven’t seen a video on that. Can you explain what you put and when? Thanks a lot.
I will be putting another application of this sa.e fertilizer in 4 or 5 weeks at the same rate. From there I will wait until time to aerate and overseed in September to put any other fertilizer
I love that I found your channel...lots of great tips but even better that you're a Hoosier fan! I assume you live in Indiana? I'm on the westside of Indy. Trying my hardest to get my yard looking better but not having much luck thus far. Definitely going to keep watching your videos!
Glad I watched this, was getting ready to apply Milo in about a week or so, now may look for Lawn Restore instead. I thought phosphorus encouraged root growth though, potassium disease resistance?
Use both. I have for years and they compliment eachother beautiful a d ensures you get phos and pot as well as Iron. I don't use just one or the other anymore. You can throw them down together or just seperate them by a few weeks which is what I do now.
@@ushersports3076 I fully understand the difference between synthetic and organic and it takes an absurd amount of synthetic fertilizer to burn your lawn. Thanks though!
@@ushersports3076 Potash (K) is not available in organic form and synthetic potassium will remain in the soil for a long time, unlike Phosphorous (P) that can leach away with heavy rainfall.
The Lawn Whisperer Yeah it’s kinda scary 🤣😂. Also, I was going to post this in a forum but maybe you can help me out here! do you have an email address where I can send your some photos of my lawn?? I looks decent but I have some yellow spots I seem to just cannot get rid of on one side of my lawn.
people think it is ok to let their dog poop in the yard if they pick it up. The idea you take your dog for a walk so it can poop in someone yard is absurd.
No ear protection no eye protection improper shoes. Yeah... Your fired. and do you really want fertilizer all up and down your exposed skin. Forget about the dog crap take better precautions and show your viewers what is really important when they mow.

You live in a nice and quiet neighborhood. I love doing my own and I learn a lot from your videos. Thank you for your time.
Bro your grass looks great. I have to step up my game lol.
The lawn is looking great. And those lawn crocs are sweet. Lol 😂
The Lawn Dad's haha
That edging on the beds is top notch imho. Def do a video on how to achieve that look
I for sure will soon!
Dog owners who don’t pick up. GRRR!!! Your channel is bringing in the haters... so keep producing great videos and make em madder!
Ha I will! Thank you!
"I'm a pretty good judge of 6 inches"...r.o.t.f.l. but I'll leave that alone
the fact that he straight faced that line...
Your lawn is so beautiful! I need to learn from you.
I use the scotts app and on addition to that I use a 0-20-20 ag fertilizer the 0-20-20 gives that added boost
What a yard , Beautiful 🌺🌺🌺🌺
Great video! Really fun watching your channel grow! Keep it up!

No let me know how it goes for you! I do have humic acid and some sea kelp and humic from simple lawn solutions
I use 28-0-8 60% SCU at a full rate in April, the same at lower rate in June.

First Aussie 😁Great tips😁👍🏼👍🏼
"I'm a pretty good judge of what 6 inches is" that's what she said
Your lawn is looking amazing!👵
Thank you!
I get dollar spot so I like to use more Nitrogen to push the growth ;) I did however do Organics all last summer, Milo & Ringer!
Push it real good!
@@TheLawnWhisperer Lol salt & peppa ha hahaa
Omg that lawn, i need you here in NJ
2% Potassium is nothing. Not enough for summer heat stress. Golf turf manager typically applies Potash at 2 to 4 lbs per 1k for pre-stress management.
Omgggg!!!! I love your yard bro!!
Love the vid man! Good stuff.
Kinda like a mullet, Business in front and party in the back.
😂 Haha I love it. Why didnt I think of that!
People in my neighborhood use a 19-19-19 in July. Dose this seem excessive?
I feel you on the disrespect. They do it to me as well
Isnt it the worst. I need to put cameras up so I can find the culprit haha
I got up cameras so I could see the culprits 😑
P.U.P.(PICK UP POOP😡). I feel your pain. Great tips.

What is the best type of fertilizer for newly planted sod
Thanks for the video. how often are you fertilizing your lawn in the early summer ? thanx
I will do another application at this same rate in about 4 weeks or so
Your lawn looks great! But laying fert during this time? What area are you in?
Indiana
Does this video work for St. Augustine grass in mid-florida??
Great video
You’re a pretty good judge at 6 inches.... hmmm
😳
First time viewer. Where are you and what is your turf type?
Indiana. Turf type tall fescue
The Lawn Whisperer good lookin.... yard. 😜. Really. Nice grass and advice.👍🏻
What type grass are seeding
I would like you to do this on a weedy yard with weed and feed?
You would like me to do what exactly on a weedy yard?
guys do you use weed killer to have a lawn like that .... ? If yes I need more info
I have a video about killing weeds you can go check out
What type of grass seed you have down
GCI Turf turf type tall fescue
How do you prevent weeds?🤔🤔

@@TheLawnWhisperer ok.
I saw the IU flag, are you living in Indiana? We live in Greenwood.

Is the lawn originally sod or was that seeded? It looks awesome!
Seed. Turf type tall fescue
We have that problem with dog poop as well. Not the dog’s fault, they are just doing their thing. It’s the disrespectful dog owners ...
question . how many inches is grass height?
How tall do I cut my grass? I typically cut mine 2.25 dpring and fall, 2.75 in the summer
@@TheLawnWhisperer
thank u . I like how it look
Why wouldn't you go with an all-purpose fertilizer that is 10-10-10?
I want a slow release fertilizer that wont give a flush of top growth
