good to know about the anti-reverse bearings. I guess that was an improvement over older models with anti-reverse cog on the main drive gear.

over the years I've worked on my ABU's. Now I have to go back and see if I messed up the order of the reassembly on some of them. A few didn't work right after I "fixed" them!

Great video sir, I have upgraded one of my 6500s with these and also two older 7000s. I love these reels,there are some decent budget reels about which is great but the ABUs stand alone,you can upgrade the drag, easily get upgrades and spares..All the best!

On the older models with the anti reverse pawl. The larger washer will not work under the brass gear as it interferes with the pawl.

2 Things...At 16:40 ish to assemble the drag but you took 4 washers OUT but have 5Washers left on you work bench?
Them rusty preload springs can be cleaned with simple metal polish such as Flitz or Mothers! Thanks 4 the video

Does it matter if you use silicon or petroleum lube grease?
