I like Timothy B Schmit but I wish he would have been there for Don Felder when he needed a shoulder to cry on the day he'd gotten fired from the Eagles.
I wish Don H. and Glen would follow Tim's example, I thought Tim showed a lot of class at the Rock 'N Roll Hall & Fame towards Randy, I can see him being a nice, down to earth gentleman.

Most people who make comments about the interviewer, the questions, etc, are either jealous, never been in front of a camera, or have never been to a red carpet premiere and stood before one of the greatest musicians, actors, or directors and tried to speak. I am 30 years older than Braunwyn, who's freshman in college, and I was nervous just holding the camera. It's easy to make comments, but more commendable to get up there and do something meaningful in your life.
Don Henley and the Eagles are in one word. . . professional. Everything in life is a journey and a lesson #ups and downs. These guys have entertained and inspired generations. Thank you for entertaining us!
Randy Meisner is the sweetest and gentlest of the original lineup. This doc shed a lot of light on the members and their relationships with each other. Pity Randy left the band so soon. I wish him all the best. The music was gr8 then and still sounds good today. Enjoyed the doc.
just as you are kind sometimes and mean others so is Henley and every human....we are multifaceted creatures and to have friction between ourselves and other humans is simply the nature of who we are...no one can say they always are easy or did the benevolent thing..we all break and lose our temper and become selfish but the point here is to strive and continually evolve and become better..we never stop this process so open hearts

Hopefully before too awfully long someone by intelligent design will create a 21st century film about Jackson Browne. His contribution to So. Cal. Rock are immeasurable. In the1960’s Jackson worked withThe Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Neco Case, Tim Buckley.Case recorded the JB song“These Days” written when JB was 16.
Actually, I thought the interviewer did a GREAT job "disarming" the interviewees. If you look at TBS before she asked her first question, he seemed a bit apprehensive and uncomfortable. But with her asking atypical, "non-fawning" questions they seemed to relax a bit more and became more conversational. THAT is the sign of a good interviewer.

I took him to lots of concerts back in my college days and throughout the 80's. It's a film community Dave, not a music community. We handled 20 Red Carpets in 8 days and its a little hard to be up to date. We didn't even know who was going to show up to the Red Carpet until 20 minutes before. Not many people can pull off a great interview on the fly, especially on the Red Carpet . Braunwyn does well, great eye contact, bubbly, factual and baring a slight hint of GEN Y entitlement. there's a moment when Don Henley looks at her after she asks about what happenned in between thiose 2 albums, he looks at her with grumpy old man disdain , pauses and then deicides to be nice .Lets remember this is living history to Braunwyn.
Dave, I'm only responding because it was a good question. Between those years the Eagles became highly successful, their sound changed from Joe Walsh's influence and then they broke up in 1980. They were dealing with becoming a wildly successful band which led to their eventual break up. The reporter is only 19 and wasn't born until 20 years after they formed as a band. So for the new generation, that wasn't such a stupid question. She was trying to get him to talk about how success.

I look forward to seeing it. Henley has never been an open guy when asked about Eagles' history. I hope Felder, Meisner, and Leadon are given ample time in this documentary. I want to hear more from them. I read Felder's book, "Heaven and Hell"... It was an insightful and candid account of those years in the 70's. Of course, I understand that such was his perspective, and would like to hear from all angles - especially the terse-lipped Henley.

One of the biggest mistakes Don Henley and Glenn Frey has ever made was them not doing a "Behind The Music: Eagles" episode sometime around 2003, I believe their episode of "Behind The Music" would have painted Don Henley and Glenn Frey in a positive light and Don Felder in a negative light and I can see a lot of music fans hating Don Felder along with Felder's book "Heaven And Hell" not being a major success because they would see Felder as a selfish, whiny, malcontent crybaby craving for attention and them not wanting to support Don Felder. I also can picture Don Felder's "Heaven And Hell" being the vendictive middle finger to the episode of "Behind The Music: Eagles", Don Henley and Glenn Frey totally fucked themselves in the ass for not doing a "Behind The Music" episode on VH1 right after Don Felder gets fired from the band.
It's funny, Part 2 is on Showtime yet I never saw Part 1. I watch Showtime constantly but never heard of this! It's not on On Demand either. Wondering where they hid it. Wish they made things accessible like HBO. This interview's title is misleading. Seems to be the thing nowadays, get people to watch regardless of what you must say to do it. I'd have watched the interview--and not been disappointed the doc wasn't here, btw.

I watched the History of The eagles on cable..the full 3 hours..Henley isnt revealing any secrets, any insight into when, where, how and what Hotel Ca is about. he gives no candid info regarding inspirations, He spends no time talking about his personal side of The eagles or the songs he mainly wrote. OTOH-Glenn Frey doesnt hold anything back..he tells it like it is..or was. If Henley isn';t being candid it is the interviewers job to probe. Piss Henley off--"you;re not telling me enough".
Bernie Leadon was the "real musician" and creative force in the band before Don Felder arrived. Often times Leadon, JD Souther and Jackson Browne and other players would have an impromptu jam session and would work out the bridges, transitions and general melody for Henley /Frey songs. Henley and Frey were above average support men their solo and acting and stuff they did in the eighties proves that out, to pre Hotel California Eagles fans the solo stuff is kind of embarrassing. "The heat is on, on the street Inside your head, on every beat And the beat's so loud, deep inside The pressure's high, just to stay alive 'Cause the heat is on" I mean do you believe an Eagle would write this crap or "all she wants to do is dance" I had the opportunity to see them in 1977 in Chicago and again a couple of years ago in Kansas City. While their standard classic songs are understandably preformed without the same gusto because of their age and the passage of time their new music just sucks it's like being trapped in an elevator. And Don Felder was right and Frey/Henley were wrong, that piece of S**t Alan Cranston with the Lincoln Savings and Loan scandal.

Felder started exercising his rights as equal partner and cfo - insisting on answers from the accountants, that caused the split - read 'Heaven and Hell" - Felder sued and won, LARGE. f&h and well paid sidemen (schmit and walsh are NOT partners) play the same show, note for note, every night- that's their idea of rock'n'roll - milquetoast.
You paint the species with a pretty broad brush there. What about psychotic murderers in prison? Are they also ok because they are like "every human"? Come on. Some are worse than others in regards to how they view and treat others and Henley is one of those that fall under "worse". It's hard to find anyone that has had dealings with him that will say he's a good guy. He's not, and there is a very long list of folks that have come out and expressed as much. Henley has written some good songs. Not that many. As a musician he is good, not great. Very good band overall. He does have an attitude, ok. He and Frey of course get more because they are the original members. He has not written a great song tho in the last 20 years IMO. Of course he is on the third tier of rock royalty, behind the stones, zep,(2nd tier) and the 1st tier which only has one band..the Beatles. Right don?
