Guild Wars 2 Lore - Sylvari and the Dream

I must admit , when I first heard about the Sylvari being added to Guild Wars 2 back when it was in early development, I wasn't too thrilled. I had nothing against the idea, but I wasn't really interested either. Just neutral really.
As time went by after the game came out, I became more and more interested in who they were and how they came about. Well it turns out their story is more interesting than I expected.
In this video I cover some of the basics of who and what the Sylvari are, but also open up certain points about them that have little detail or a degree of mystery about them.

I would love to see an update on this lore supposition. One of the personal story missions you can do with the Sylvari is you find another Sylvari not born from the Pale Tree! And later in the Season 2 story line, we learn that Sylvari were an extension of Mordremoth and that the Dream was meant to protect the Sylvari from Mordremoth's influence. But your theory on the Dream being something 'bigger' is intriguing, especially when you get into Scarlet's vision of the Eternal Alchemy which features the Pale Tree at its center. There's just too many colliding points for this to be a coincidence! But since Mordremoth's defeat, we've learned no more about the Dream, the Pale Tree, or its connection to the Eternal Alchemy.
Leah Glasco I was looking for this comment, just yesterday I played that story (with my first Sylvari wuu) and was about to comment that out.

Dude, first off, these are the best GW2 lore videos I've seen. You made great observations AND -my favorite part- you added video scenes that actually relate to what you're talking about, without it distracting from what you're talking about!
I can't tell you how many times I've seen lore videos of lots of different games and it's just the guys character, running around, doing some random crap that means nothing and adds nothing to the video.

we now know that silvary were created by the elder dragon mordremaw to serve him. I guess that ronan finding the seed changed the destiny of the silvary since they grow knowing ventary and ronan.

We will do highlights when Kanako and I get together and so something in game. It won't be frequent though, in fact, it will be quite rare now here on UA-cam. I am however doing GW2 livestreams so follow us there and catch the action :)

Love lore videos! Would like to see more lore videos connecting to all you'r lets-plays. A dark souls or soul sacrifice lore video sounds awesome as well! :)

That is really interesting. I just think for a moment, if sylvari dont have actual flesh and bones, but they have a heart - kind of. Because they feel something, and usually is kind and friendly. And i am curious, what their brain are made of?
My main character in gw2 is sylvari.
What is the brain made of? Probably a bunch of roots :D
I think you should hold off on asking for lore information until you finish posting your personal stories to see how much you have learned and what you have missed. To avoid spoilers
