Excellent video & information with no parallel. Hardly any one know such details in deep. The placement of song OM SHANTI OM which stood 2nd in Binaca Geetmala annual program of 1980 is the correct placement. I feel that in 1980 Kurbani song AAP JAISA KOI was record break surpassing all the records of that year. However the first song of 1980 "DAFLIWALE DAFALI BAJA" from film Sargam was considered as a mark of respect to legend Rafi Sahab who expired in 1980. Even in film Qurbani except that one song, music of that song and dance by Zeenat was everything which alone pulled up the film but without this song in Qurbani other factors were average. Excellent video which I will share in my music lover groups. ❤💯❤

हमेशा की तरह लाजवाब episode.... और बेहतरीन narration......👌👌👌👌 मुझे तो इस तरह की फिल्में अच्छी नहीं लगतीं... लेकिन इस फ़िल्म का music कमाल था ! आज भी उतना ही fresh लगता है ! LP ने गानों में जिस तरह से 'कोरस' और 'ऑर्केस्ट्रा' का इस्तेमाल किया, और किशोर कुमार ने जिस energy और feelings के साथ इन songs को गाया, वो extraordinary था..... अपने समय से बहुत आगे था ! मेरे पास अब भी इस movie की 'made in USA' audio cd है, जो कि करीब 26-27 साल पुरानी है, मगर इसकी voice quality अब तक बेजोड़ है ! मैं आज भी इसे बेहद शौक से सुनता हूँ ! thanks राकेश जी, इतने शानदार episode के लिए....और इन songs की यादें फिर से ताज़ा करने के लिए....👌👍👍

Karz was out and out subhash gai film in which he has taken excellent performance from rishi kapoor and simmi garewal haunting and memorable music by Laxmi pyare story and song picturisation all are excellent. Surprising fact only picture nahi chali .rakesh bhai aisa ek video Sargam ke liye bhi banaie.

Surprised to hear that Karz was not a hit. It's superb movie. I am an RD fan, but Laxmi pyare gave memorable super music. Somehow RD and subhash Ghai could never work together. Ram Lakhan of 1988 was one more such instance.

It was super hit.when I was child I got enthralled.
I watched karz just recently. It was such an outstanding film. Loved all songs of this film and the screenplay was also great. Film me sabka kaam bahoot achcha tha. Very underrated classic of 80s. ❤❤❤

SUBHASH GHAI WAS A VISIONARY, he knew what he was making. This was beginning to of a new era of movie with wide canvas, larger than life. Although he had copied various scripts and songs but his presentation was beyond words. Movie was spellbinding and mesmerizing, I don’t recall times I watched this, It was a MASTERPIECE 🎉🎉🎉🎉.
This film is one of the best hindi film ever made and probably top Rishi Jis film. I grew up listening and see this movie many times back in Hyderabad. Rishi Kapoor was very famous with Telugu and Marvadi people of Hyderabad. There is a Telugu movie at the end of 80s in which they show that the heroines goes to movie theater for love of Rishi showing dialogs from Bobby and the background poster of Saagar. We miss him a lot and we remember him almost daily. My parents love Darde Dil song and we kids loved om shanti om initially and as we grew up fell in love with all the songs, including one with Aruna Ji, that too had terrific dance. Miss Raj Kiran Ji also.

Karz was really one of the best reincarnation thrillers ever made in indian cinema. It was very shocking for me as well that the film flopped considering the popularity of this film even today. The plot was so intriguing and engaging that it kept the viewers so much hooked from the beginning till the end. Performance wise this was one of the best performances of rishi kaooor. Simi Garewal playing the role of a ruthless gold digger vamp was very shocking and disturbing considering her image of positive lovable supporting roles of kind hearted women in all her films before this. The signature tune of karz is so ketchy and aged so well with time. All songs were huge hits especially om shanti om, ek haseena thi, paisa o paisa, and main solah baras ki. Tina munim was okay but she looked very cute in the film. Pran also gave a brilliant performance in his role. The idea of 2 different leads for reincarnation was realistic but at tge same time in commercial perspective very risky decision which perhaps was major reason for the film’s fsilure back then. However subhash ghai is genius in this regards hence the film became classic because it was realistic approach of 2 different faces and bodies in different births unlike precious reincarnation films like madhumati, milan, neel kamal and mehbooba. So kudos to him for that. It's a timeless classic for a reason. Overall great episode rakesh bhai. Thank you so much!!! 💓 ❤❤🙏 🙏

"Karz" was the most entertaining movie Ghai made in his career. He was a real music buff..the set of long playing record for the song 'ॐ Shanti ॐ' was a wonderful idea. Music, particularly 'ek haseena thi ' was a great highlight..L-P composed superb songs for the film.❤❤❤

One more thing you forgot to add, this film's clip of rishi kaooor singing om shanti om was used in 2007 film Om Shanti Om and it also adopted lot of scenes from this film as well.
