You need to try Modern Apizza in New Haven and Zuppardis in West Haven.
Yes and as a mostly lifelong CT resident I am proud to say we do have the Best apizza. New Haven has the some of the best pizza but there are others like Zuppardi's, Luigi's and Mike's pizza all in West Haven
Its a crime not even mentioning modern Apizza
Sally’s is the Goat of Pies. The potato pie looked great. I’m gonna try it next time.

THE MOST underrated pizza in new haven???? Zuppardi's apizza they are up there with sallys and pepe's if you ask me. zups has the best sausage pie ive ever had in my life HANDS DOWN!!
I live in ct. We may be taxed to death but by gum we have some of the best pizza anywhere. Not just in new haven.
Sally's is #1 in my heart. I'm glad they ship. I'm not local and we traveled all the way from D.C. to go to Sally's.

Modern, Zuppardis, Fuoco,Christo's, Roseland
If you ever get to Jersey. Papa’s and DeLorenxo’s are a must. Right up there with John’s and Sally’s. In Robbinsville.

Or try them both. They are literally a few blocks from each other. Try the mustard pie at Papa’s. An absolute must.🍕
Frank Pepe's is a skip 100%. Their franchising efforts made the quality of the pizza drop.

To my surprise, almost all of the pizza in Thailand is excellent. A lot of Neapolitan expats open pizzerias I guess…

Got to try modern or zuppardi's. Zuppardi's is in West Haven I think it's very good as well. Not so bad as a wait times especially on the weekends
Zuppardis is a cute old style suburb spot. I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and some of the suburbs in Connecticut are kind of similar so it’s kind of a little heart warming discovering CT
But yeah I agree Zuppardis is good. I flew in from Atlanta to try their famous clam pie.

Born and raised in Guilford- Spent a lot of time at BAR in the 90's, hit Pepe's a few times and even Sallys but love Modern the best hands down - Ohhh that dough.
It's not just new haven, it's all of CT
You also need to got to Modern Pizza in New Haven and Little Rendevous in Meriden
Try the little rendouzvous it’s a further drive but today worth it dave rated it a 9.1

I go to Pepe’s in Warwick RI. Crispy crust always. Never tried to original. To me the best pizza is in Rhode Island

Its a small town lol new york is too big but if your a new york roadster your know theres more spots in nyc its just spread through the boroughs
There is something special about New Haven and Connecticut that I can’t exactly pinpoint. Maybe it’s a New England charm or old ghosts.
Sally’s is the best no doubt but Modern is good too. Get either tomato or light cheese. Regular cheese is too heavy and kills the structure of the crust. Rikos in Stamford is a better version of Colony.
we've been to modern too! it's in our larger short form pizza round up but we must try Rikos then!
@@sistersnackingI just took a trip out to Stamford and tried Colony and Riko’s a couple of weekends ago. No doubt for me Riko’s was better. Similar with the super thin crispy bar pie, but more flavor and saucier. Make sure you try their peanut butter pie too!
I like Modern more but Sally’s potato pizza is a fun pizza and a unique experience

Zuppardi's Apizza on Union Ave in West Haven. Get the sausage with Mootz.
Zuppardis seems to have a closer resemblance to New York. It’s a great texture. Modern is great too. Scott Weiner from Scott’s pizza tours said that he loves Modern. I found Modern’s sausage and pepperoni a little too salty but the crunchy texture is excellent.
If Modern or Sally’s pizza made a pizza using the same tomato sauce and the same cheese from Johns of Bleecker in New York, that might possibly be the greatest New Haven pizza

They didn’t like Chicago pizza on their Chicago video. Personally I like Chicago pizza but in my opinion it’s not as good as the east coast

I kind of agree, but there is a uniqueness about that crunch that doesn’t try to copy New York like how New Jersey does. Plus there’s something special about the New Haven vibe
Oh give me a break. If it weren’t for the Americas Italy wouldn’t even HAVE tomato sauce. They would still only have white pizzas.
