Not spending hundreds of pounds when you're deep in the hobby also doesn't seem like a good idea but it just keeps happening! I ordered my deshjo and kotohime maple from all things bonsai a few weeks ago and loved the little information sheet provided with the purchase.
Another good video and it may have given me the reason for the loss of all five of my deshojo's in 2020. They baked through the lovely sunny weather in the hotest spot of the garden. Their was no other obvious explanation to be found. You roll the dice sometimes!
I have recently started growing JM's from cuttings. I made a short video update on them on my YT channel the other day. I have 12 now which made it through summer. My Dad gave me a Sycamore Maple sapling back in 2000 which we potted up at the time and it has grown well over the years. By 2016 it was about 12 feet tall. In May I pruned it down to 2 feet leaving a side branch and it has done very well with 5 new branches and many leaves and is 4 feet tall now in a large pot.
Hi Mehran, I would think a more moisture retentive mix would be useful but also good to check with local experts who would have experience in your part of the world. Thanks. Adam
Nice to see you on here Adam great video very informative. 👍
No problem Frazer, thanks for commenting. Just started doing them. Early days but actually quite enjoying it 👍

Thanks for the tips Adam, I got a couple of these small deshojo’s
from you a year or two back and have been wandering how to start styling them.
My please Gary. Thanks for posting a comment 👍
Really useful video for a beginner like me (albeit about 50 years too late!). Thanks.

Hi Xavier thanks for that. The small ones in particular are very sensitive when they also young. Yes that’s true about the dice-rolling!
Hi Adam I purchased one from you a couple of years ago still growing strong
Thanks once again Richard 👍
Great video! What are your thoughts on air layering just above the graft?
Thanks Bobby. Yes that sounds like a great idea 👍

What's the best potting mix for these Deshojo Bonsais? Specially for countries with hot sunny Summers?

Cool video
Thanks 🙏
Can I have one indoors, by a sunny window? Only gets around 2 hours of direct sunlight but its facing south so its sunny all day.
Hi Tomas, it’s very unlikely that it will live for long if kept indoors I’m afraid
nice work ❤🌳
Thanks 🙏
You don't ship to the U.S.?
Sorry Chris, no we don’t unfortunately

Hi, have a look on our website and you’ll find Deshojo Maples at various prices. Thanks
