    Additional tip:
    Plant it on the the ground, not in a pot. This way, your tree will grow faster and create a larger trunk. Just make sure to put a flat slab/tile under its root section before you plant it so the roots will grow sideways not directly under. This way, it'll be easier to dig the tree and create a flat root system when you transfer it to a pot when the time comes.

      I would recommend to plant it in a colander pot instead of the soil directly, use some sacrifice branches in your main branches and the apex. Following these steps you will get a thicker trunk with the "tachiagari" principle, and you will get a great "nebari" structure in the main roots. Additionally, you can use stones or clay to create an aerial structure or prepare the tree to become an "ishizuki".
      You can get a "15 years old" look in 3 years using colander pots (5 times faster than using a normal pot), just be careful while feeding or watering your trees. For example, if you feed more than necessary, pines will become a bland wood tree and bending or shaping the tree can be difficult 'cause of its flexibility, and if you water too much your pine will have larger needles, I recommend to start with popular species because you can find a lot of information about how to take care of them. On the other hand, if you plant in the soil directly without pruning roots or controlling the nutrients your tree receives, the plant will be healthy but it won't follow the bonsai principles of tachiagari, nebari, etc.

    My family is treating apple trees in similar way for more than 50 years. Trees are growing in our garden and are obviously much larger than bonsai however the principle is same. Every summer we have to shear majority of new branches (we call them "wolves", they are long and straight) to strengthen rest of branches and to make trees compact and bushy.

      Você quer dizer que o que foi demonstrado no vídeo na prática não funciona muito bem né ?

    • @mvlameiras
      @mvlameiras 3 роки тому +2

      @@pretonobrancocb , não funciona com a precisão e tempo que são demonstrados no vídeo. Os galhos crescem nos lugares "certos" e no tempo "certo"; sabemos que na natureza nada funciona desse jeito, isto é, como a nossa estética deseja...

    Hello! Should healing paste be used with this method? Especially after the first cut of the stump? I am planning to do it to an 5 year old olive tree. Thank you!

      I know this is an old comment but as a beginner I'd be interested if you found an answer to that question

    • @emanuilpavlov6484
      @emanuilpavlov6484 Рік тому +1

      Sorry, I was not able to find a definitive answer. But after more than a year I can tell you from experience that cutting the stump without a paste did not end well. The plant died. But the reason must have been more complex. Sorry if this is not very helpful, but just a caution.
      Study what is best for your plant and then try a procedure. This would be my humble novice advice 😉👍🏼

    its never that easy tho, the animation chopped up a trunk of that thickness 😱 you dont see it in real life but it would be ugly AF. You first grow uo to about 2 meters tall for a thicker trunk then you can cut back hard. Every tree is different, every species, even from one another.

    • @jerzinho92
      @jerzinho92 3 роки тому

      Yes, it depends of species for sure. On a ficus no problem. On a ginkgo... good luck !
      But video is quite interesting. Thanks!

      Thats why every bonsai is unique. You wouldnt want to have similar bonsai throughout your collection. My 1st year of doing bonsai, i was upset for like 2 days because one of my bonsai was snap in half by my neighbour accidentally dropping something heavy on it. Now 2 years later it turn out to be the best thing to happen as it look waaayyy better now than before.
