    Storm surge already doing a bit of damage at Rutherford Beach. This structure has had the water run thru it and waves are continually crashing against it. Video includes some surge flowing over the beach and down the road and various shots of the affected structure as well as some shots around Rutherford Beach.

    Check out that storm surge and the Hurricane is still way off shore. This is going to be bad. I hope evryone evacuated.

      ​​Richard If you did not evacuate and the winds are at it's peek be calm and proceed to go in a isolated room with no windows ❤ this will help on overall survival skills and will increase chance of you living through the storm

      I know that lol. But you can see clearly at 1:08 he is walking around there. In an updated video 28 minutes ago they flew over with a helicopter. Basically almost everything you see in this video...is gone. Well 0:15 those 3 houses in the background. They are not there anymore.

    I was stationed in Galveston in 1971 (USCG) and while there we had 2 Hurricanes hit us within only weeks of each other. (Fern and Edith). The crazy thing is......the surfers came in from all directions inorder to surf the bigger waves, and of course, WE were supposed to go out and get them if they were swept out into the Gulf. ;-(

      As your house is carried away down the road yeah ok lady and yes I know too well I live in the town at the epicenter of Sandy. Leave you will not survive the waves and surge. And when your on your roof calling for help noone is coming for you and putting themselves in harms way.

    We are so thankful the surge weakened before making landfall... hard to believe just a cat 2 is enough to produce over 39 million dollars per parish or county worth of damage! Mother Nature never ceases to amaze me.. thank god the season is almost over

    Nice place, nice movie - for the history. Will all be washed away and from the houses on high stilts only the stilts will remain, the rest will be blown into the sky. Why do people always have to live directly on the beach? In hurricane areas? Do the insurance companies pay so well or is all my property in the house worth nothing to me, I buy new ones anyway? Good luck for all the people living there!
