It takes a certain kind of stupid to run around in 140 mph winds Full of debris to make a dollar, especially because you’ll put someone else’s life in danger to come and rescue you, dumbasses
It also takes a certain amount of stupid to emplace your choices upon others. A good rule of thumb for your type of thinking is; Don’t worry about others, save yourself. In other words, don’t be a Karen and think that your word/your choices should be the guiding principle(s) for everyone else to live by. Give people the room to make their own choices. If they get hurt, it’s by their choice. But they don’t HAVE TO live YOUR life.
And all the cars driving in this! I would be scared too death! So many should’ve made better choices..I don’t care who you are..you can’t replace yourself for your family and friends.
Some people live to go out and see what this world has to offer. Sometimes that is a tempest. And if a tempest throws a Volvo at someone, at least they go while on an adventure, rather than from diabetes, or from old age while wishing they had gone on more adventures...

This is because all power lines should be underground. If so, only the huge tall towers had to be repaired. Power would be back in a few days. Poland had a very bad tornado. Power was back IN 40 MINUTES!

I grew up in Michigan and lived there for 28yrs , I have lived in Lake Charles for 12years now. Hurricane Laura was my first hurricane where we had to evacuate.... It's definitely something you have to be ready for have a game plan before hurricane season begins.
We become immune to the weather here in Lake Charles. 😂😂 we prepare early for hurricane season.

Some people just can't believe they could actually die from Mother Nature. I remember one poor old idiot who died when Mount St. Helens erupted because he refused to evacuate.

I live near buffalo so when a blizzard hits I make sure we are good and have everything and if I have to work I call and say thanks but no thanks. There's usually that one day every winter where I will call in. Its feet of snow and insane wind. You can't see a thing and people have been found dead once their cars are uncovered. They just don't take it seriously. November of 2014 we got 7 feet of snow. It was literally up to everyones roof. Some deaths. Took me days to get out to the street. We were expecting a child any day so I was praying it didn't happen. I would have had to do it myself. I wouldn't know how to help my wife. We luckily have lived at the corner of the fire department somehow the last two houses we've lived at. Yes mother nature is no joke.

You have no idea how hard they work for their family home and for whats in the freezer, and damned if theyre gonna let a looter come take anything the storm didnt already take. Already, looters and scammers have moved in. Much of my family sent the women and children away to safety while the men rode it out at home. They all survived. They get ice or gas and a generator and save whats in the freezer and tarp whatever is left of the roof to keep some water out, and they start the chainsaw work. Then the women and kids come back from MS or AL with more ice and water and gasoline. The men keep watch against looters and families help each other cleanup and rebuild.
Me and my family rode it out in Moss Bluff. A tree fell on our house inches away from us. I have bruises from the ceiling falling on me. I will NEVER do that again. It was terrifying. I can't even put it into words. We are alive and that's all that matters. Long road of homelessness ahead.
Been in many hurricanes and would never think of leaving. Tornado are to be avoided but hurricanes are fun.The weeks without power after its over is not fun though.

I am in NW Louisiana, and it was plenty bad enough up here. Authorities were telling folks to not stay in any room of their house that was covered by big trees. They were going down everywhere . Great video.

Having been through quite a few hurricanes i can tell you you feel pretty small when the wind picks up,you hear the trees breaking and then the power goes out.
My boyfriend is there now with entergy (electric company)!! TOTAL deviation!!! Said look like atomic bomb went off!!! Please pray for all these people and donate to the Red Cross!!

I live in Toronto, Canada and we never get hurricanes like that, I’ve always wanted to experience something like that
It sucks. It’s scary. And sometimes you lose a house, car, pet, loved one or even favorite place to visit.
What for? It's stressful and expensive being a homeowner. It's not fun and it's dangerous especially with children and pets.
Well I was in Huurricane Ike and it was only a Cat 2 I think when it hit Galveston. Laura was a 4. I lived just north of Houston which is about 50 miles north of Galveston and im not sure if we even got the dirty side of the storm but it knicked down all five large trees in a field next to our house. Three of those trees fell into our yard destroing our fence while two of them miraculously fell another way missing our house and the room I slept in. A lot of shingles got ripped off the roof exposing the plywood. Also we luckily lived on a small hill so we didn't get flooded like many of the houses in our neighborhood. It's definitely not fun to be in one if you have something to lose.

Living in Houston area I’ve experienced quite a few hurricanes, most recently harvey. I can remember all the way back to Katrina even though it didn’t hit Houston.
But haven’t experienced anything like Laura.
