    She did NOT mention that you use the small Allen wrench and screw to assure the brushes (both of them) are firmly attached to lead rod. So tape is NOT needed at the brush head. Kit comes with the 2 small screws and the Allen wrench. Otherwise, Good Job explaining how to do and use the product!

    You hit on a tip which I had not thought about, or seen in any of the other videos I've watched. That is, just run the drill motor slow! Well, DUH! 😁 I had envisioned spinning the thing like a madman, and as a result, lint flying all over the outside, including on me. But it makes sense that if you just take it slow, there should be no worry about that. Simple tip, which I'm going to try out tomorrow. Thank you!

    the 6" brush can be used to clean your fridge coils too. This will make your Pop or drinks cold and let you raise the temperature back some and save energy.
    Make sure you clean the inside of the Dryer too not inside the drum but what you can't see until you take it apart.

    Thank you so much for this video, I just ordered this item to clean out our vent , I wouldn't have ever known about cleaning ours out but our new dryer has a " clean dryer vent " light on it so I have been doing a lot of searching on line as far as what tools I needed and how to do it. I was use to my husband doing things like this ( passed away 5 yrs ago) so this task doesn't seem to be as big a deal as I thought.

    if you have plastic, tear it out and replace it with either solid pipe or flex pipe.
    and make sure the vent is no longer the 24 feet minus 5 feet for each 90 dgr elbow.
    2 90 dgr elbows max pipe length is 14'
    I'm no expert, but this is important, read up on it.
    Do not screw joints, only use Foil Tape or hose clamps. Tape is the better option.

    it is extremely important to only run the dryer on no heat setting when bad flow is suspected or when sticking anything in the vent! you will hurt the dryer, unless your super lucky. this is why a shop vac or blower is recomended.

    I went as far as the brush would let me go from the outside. It got to a point that it just wouldn't go any further approximately the length of 2 and 1/3 of the rods. The same from inside except because its a little easier to maneuver i eventually wiggled around enough to get a little further in. Approximately 2 and 1/2 rods. Plus i used a shop vac. I dont have a blower to get the rest out. I did get quite a bit though.

    the vent in my wall leads up to the attic i believe and not outside of my house.

    • @GrandyDancer
      @GrandyDancer 6 років тому +1

      That is a problem if it does not go outside. All the moisture the dryer is blowing out will go to the attic and you will have mold.

    • @RobertDinTulsa
      @RobertDinTulsa 5 років тому +1

      The vent in your wall leads up to the attic and may / may not vent through the roof into the open air. It may not vent to the side of the house but if the house isn't very old, then it most likely vents through the roof...it's easy to check.

  • @xxxTHROATBANGERxxx
    @xxxTHROATBANGERxxx 5 років тому +1

    That metal blockage adapter is dangerous. If your spinning and it hits the metal it can cause a fire.

    • @RobertDinTulsa
      @RobertDinTulsa 5 років тому +1

      You aren't suppose to turn / spin the drill or any of its attachments that fast. You also shouldn't have any of those types of reactive metals in your venting / ducting. Good thought, though.

    Miss, a drill has the ability to reverse to separate the rod from the drill

    • @pyosim
      @pyosim 2 роки тому

      If you run the drill in reverse, you run the risk of having the rod separation take place not at the drill adapter, but between rods far down your dryer vent, leaving you with a brush and some rods stuck in your vent with no easy way of extracting. Some have suggested taping the rod connections to reduce this risk.
