If you really wanted to shoot cinematic footage then go for smooth 5. dji has limited the tilt angle movement of its mobile gimbals after dji osmo mobile 2. we can not do jib shots or torch mode shots with this new generation osmo mobile gimbals. as the tilt is limited, the mobile phone attached on the gimbal always facing the ground. I had purchased osmo mobile 4 and returned it due to this problem. hope DJI will understand the issue and will rectify it in their future updations. It can be used only for social media shooting, not for serious mobile videography.
Do you think these gimbals add much compared to digital stabilisation? Is it noticeable? Also, do you think they are worth buying to use just as gimbals, without installing the software?

I just tried the receiver of the Lark M1(geni.us/kd1iiwa) and clamped it directly on to the magnetic clamp and it worked like a charm. Since it's so lightweight and small, the gimbal movement isn't obstructed in any way.
With DJI products I'd always recommend you to go for an iPhone cause they are better supported by them cause they don't come in so many variations. However you can always go with an Android Phone too, however not all the available features will be supported by DJI
I have a problem with the iPhone 14 pro and the widest lens, one of the gimbal motors becomes visible at the right side. I already tried to displace the iPhone a bit out of center but then the Mimo app starts complaining about the balance. Do you have this issue too?
Hey there, thats quite normal for every gimbal smartphone combination with a super wide angle lens. You can somewhat counteract that by holding the gimbal at a 90° angle.

They definitely add a lot of stabilisation and you can use them without their native apps. Often times I prefer the native camera app. Digital Stabilisation always adds some wobble, so always try to get as close as possible to a perfect image while shooting. Achieving it in post is always harder
the greatest video about the gimbal by far. its my first and i owned the osmo mobile 6, right after it was launched and i didnt even know that it was new. i'm still testing it out. i would love to know more of how to get a better DYNA zoom or dolly zoom. but overall its an amazing product. i really love DJI products. i've also purchased the DJI MIC which is amazing. highly recommended. and i will follow your channel! thanks again for the video my friend.
I'm loving the OM6. I was thinking about selling my Ronin-SC to get a Ronin-SC2 for the smaller size and the raven eye tracking. After buying the OM6 I'm going to sell my Ronin-SC and just use my iPhone for video. Without taking up much space I can now have my Mini 3 Pro and OM6 with me on most journeys I take. Just a shame my Osmo Action died after using it in a pool or I'd be giving DJI a 10/10 for the products I have.
Exactly! With the increasing performance of smartphone cameras more and more traditional SLRs become obsolete. Pair this with the small footprint of the OM6 and you already have an always ready to go video rig. Slap an additional microphone on top of that and your good to go 😉. How come there's no Avata in your bag? 🤪
@@AttiBear thank you brother willing to visit one day, Bavarian/Austrian Alps is the most beautiful part of Alps in my opinion along with Julian Alps in Italy/Slovenia, by the way Great video and great tutorial! 👍🏽
Even with previous models you were always able to reframe your tracked subject. How ever depending on the movement in your frame your subject at some point could end up being centered again.
@@AttiBear Ok, seemed like this has been a common problem. A face dead center rarely looks good! Is there any possibility to remote control the gimbal? How about clean hdmi or airplay out from the Mimo app?
I agree but as I said reframing was always possible, but sometimes you may need to readjust 😉. I'ts a definitive no on the remote control for the gimbal. For that, you'll need to go one model higher. I'd say you still can grab an HDMI signal of the iPhone while it's connected and AirPlay works just fine too.

Carefully check Compatability I got caught just because my phone worked perfectly on OM5 and after delivery, it doesn't work on OM6, I use OnePlus 8T
always Iphone... thats why it passes the message that this Osmo works. Well, I have an android and it sucks!!

How would you hook up an external mic like a rode wireless or a saramonic Blink when using the om6 without the gimbal losing balance?

Whitch are the best smartphones for those gimbals, please?

Awesome Creativity Brother 💝😌
Thanks man! Appreciate it 😉
Great video! Is that magnetic feature strong enough? does a heavy iPhone like the 13 PRO MAX don´t fall down when moving around?
Yeah no worries about that. It is plenty strong 😉

nice video, just one mistake. using stabilization in video mode, crop is for 2,8K video
Action Mode reduces the resolution to 2.8K but the regular 4K footage is insanely stabilized. I’m working on a video showcasing that

Ooh.. fast! A tutorial on the newly launched OM6 already! Hottest gimbal right now!
Thanks Mike! Which feature did you like the most?
Does active track work with the main cameras as well or is it just for the selfie camera?
It works with all cameras on board of your phone and is not limited to any specific lens
Awesome! Thank you for the tips and for showing how cool is the DJI OM6
Thanks Doodie Man! Did you also check out my previous tips?
Hi how strong is the magnet I plan to use it on a JetSki do you think that would be a problem ?
It's plenty strong but i'm not sure if i'd trust it riding a Jetski 😅
@@AttiBear cheers for that it’s a fishing JetSki so won’t be using it full speed mainly while fishing or if I come across some dolphins
Is that Berchtesgaden or Salzburg? 🤔
No it’s Garmisch 😉

Tell me, can you now reframe with tracking enabled, and have it stay that way? Or does it end up re-centering the tracked subject?
Even with previous models you were always able to reframe your tracked subject. How ever depending on the movement in your frame your subject at some point could end up being centered again.

what is the threaded insert on the gimbal head for?
You can mount counterweights to it if you ever use any heavy accessories in order to get the gimbal balanced again.
That side wheel is genius!!! Love the new features of the osmo mobile.
Indeed it is! The control layout is so much better this way.
Merci pour la vidéo ! Où les images ont-elles été prises ? C'est un très bel endroit !
You are welcome Lightpat😃. One part was shot near the Zugspitze and the rest in the Partnach Gorge
